I watched the Taxi Driver theme life in DR's( the Danish equivalent to BBC) Concert Hall with the National Danish Symphony Orchestra a couple of years ago. It was during a Murder at the Symphony theme night with music from Hitchcock's Vertigo, Psycho, the Godfather etc conducted by Sara Hicks. It was an amazing night. Hans Ulrik, the talented jazz saxophonist, also plays the harmonica in The Good, The Bad.... and in Once upon a time in the west. ❤❤

Thank you, Dave and Nick. Quite moving. That’s the purpose of soundtrack scores - to move our emotions In support of the film. Try watching a film without the score - empty. Loved this marathon. 😊💕

Henry Fonda played against type in this film, a pure western classic. The music reminds me of my father also, harkening back to the late sixties when the film was released.

Harry Gregson-Williams does one of my Top 10 favorite soundtracks; "Kingdom of Heaven". I love that movie too, it was a big flop at the box office, a mediaeval/crusade Epic directed by Ridley Scott (the Directors Cut is even better). Toward the ending of its run, Star Wars Phantom Menace debuted. The Soundtrack for "Blackhat" was good too, VERY fitting for a Michael Mann Film. One Upon a Time in the West was my late-Fathers favorite Western, its in my Top 10. The "Harmonica" and other familiar _sounds/themes_ each went to a particular actor so the audience would know who they were in reference to their character. The particular them for the GORGEOUS Italian actress "Claudia Cardinale" is particularly _sad_ because of her character as a mail-order bride, who comes right before tragedy, and the theme "follows" her as she tries to make a life with what she has. Its gorgeous like she was (she's 85 now). I've had a Marathon idea with "Duel of Fates" for awhile, which comes from 1 of my "melodius prOgulus" playlists that features "Math Metal" tracks & bands. I'll have to see if I can submit it before the year :). Btw - I JUST _met_ the Conceptual Designers for The Mandalorian & Ahsoka series Sunday in Pasadena, from a 3 day convention for artists/illustrators in the entertainment industry called "Lightbox". I'll have to tell you about that N&L. - Thanks Dave & Nick! Edit: WTF??? 2 tracks BLOCKED??? Yeah Record Labels, don't let more people listen to someone's music to gather more fans and recognition. Yeah lets go with that. Sorry that happens Nick, what a shame :(.

I'm a jazz fusion fan, I also like soundtrack music. I probably notice soundtracks more than people usually tend to do so. I own the Taxi soundtrack CD. It includes some fusion like versions of the music, which aren't as good as Bernard Herman's music. (the CD does include his versions). He died shortly after the movie was made. This music is a little similar to John Barry's "Body heat" soundtrack.

Sarah Hicks is quire an amazing person! Graduated Harvard with a B.A , Magna Cum Laude in Music Composition. Before she damaged her hands playing the piano as a concert pianist, she was ranked #3 in the world! Classically trained she prefers the freedom of performing movie themes and broadway shows. She said that although she enjoys the "classics", she has fun doing the movie themes,..." the musicians are having fun as well and I get to perform with my hair down wearing high heels!"
