Most people don't realize what they have just seen. A Japanese conductor leading the Danish National Symphony italian (roman) composer: Ennio Morricone R.I.P. in playing music from an Italian movie filmed in Spain financed by Germans and starring three Americans. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Italian: Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo, literally "The good, the ugly, the bad") is a 1966 Italian epic spaghetti Western film directed by Sergio Leone and starring Clint Eastwood as "the Good", Lee Van Cleef as "the Bad", and Eli Wallach as "the Ugly"

This song was released as a single in 1966 . I was a 9 year old black child in the south & thought it was one of the most amazing things I`d ever heard. My parents bought it for me & I treasured it for years. It still holds up after all this time. A brilliant composition . This performance does it justice .

Did you not watch the same performance I did? How long ago do you think this was performed? Your comment has merit but not in this instance. Orchestras have and always will play their own instruments (to include vocals) free of deceptive manipulation. The only purpose of Orchestras/Symphonies is live performances, they're not recording artists. How can you compare physically playing Football to playing Football on Xbox?
@manlymcstud8588
@manlymcstud8588 3 года назад
@@cup_cuppy_cuppers5817 orchestras and symphonies are recorded all the time. granted, that's not their main and true purpose, per se, but to suggest that they're not also recording artists to some degree is a bit of a stretch, imo, particularly in this day in age. that's also not to say they're recording in a proper studio, but having their performances recorded is, i would imagine, pretty standard these days. so, in a way they are indeed recording artists at this level.

The soundtrack is considered one of the greatest soundtracks in movie-dom. Some refer to the soundtrack as "another character" it is so profound. Ennio Morricone did the soundtrack for many of the grand movies of that era. Since I discovered him, I often have his music playing at home. It is grand, isn't it.

"The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly", is the third and final film of a trilogy of films featuring the character, "The Man With No Name", portrayed by Clint Eastwood. This film also starred Lee Van Cleef ("The Bad") and Eli Wallach ("The Ugly"), and was released in 1966. The other two films are "A Fistful Of Dollars" (1964) and "For A Few Dollars More" (1965). In 1964, Clint Eastwood was still working on the CBS Western TV series, "Rawhide". According to an interview of Eastwood I watched here on RU-vid, he wanted to take his family on a European vacation, but he did not have enough money at the time to do so. By accepting a movie role from Italian director, Sergio Leone, to star in his low-budget Western film, "A Fistful Of Dollars", which was being filmed in Spain, he could take his family on that European vacation for free (or something close to it). Somehow, Leone found a US distributor to show the film in the US, and "A Fistful Of Dollars" became a surprise hit. In 1965, "Rawhide" was cancelled by CBS, a year after the untimely death of the show's star, Eric Fleming, while he working on a movie during the TV show's Summer hiatus. Clint Eastwood then began to focus his career as being a full-time movie actor. "For A Few Dollars More" provided him an opportunity to work that he badly needed, and that film also became a hit, and made Eastwood an International star. The Hollywood establishment had no choice but to take notice, and the rest is history.
@theloneranger8725
@theloneranger8725 2 года назад
When you said low budget, you weren't kidding. The reason so many common instruments are used in Morricone's soundtracks is because he didn't have much money to work with in composing and recording the soundtracks. In the interview you referenced, Eastwood stated that the clothes he wore in the trilogy were provided by himself, and the stogies he smoked in the movies he bought himself in California and cut in half for the movies. Unbelievably, this movie, one of the greatest westerns of all time, had a budget of only 1.2 million dollars. In a movie made today, that probably wouldn't get you past the first ten minutes of filming.

This is sooo good. Can you imagine being there in the audience with the sound coming at you from all angles and vibrating in your chest ? This instrumentation is what synthesizers were invented to IMITATE ! I once lived in Richmond in a duplex house. One afternoon I was startled to hear a lady singing clearly and loudly, I walked through the house and opened the back door ... she was in the next house over from me practicing opera ... inside ! They are trained to use their voices to maximum effect and I had never heard someone project like that before, and she was just warming up ! Those opera singers are no joke, even though I don't really like opera music. Did you notice a mic on her ? I'm sure there was one somewhere but I didn't see one. She is trained to fill a room with sound and was in the perfect position to do it. Your a lover of music, if we were there we would probably have tears streaming down our faces because great music is an emotional experience, not an ego boost. By the way, that movie, you gotta see it. Its the definitive western, you'll love it, big production values too ! I appreciate your channel, thx. God bless you.

“Whoever wrote this is a genius.” Ladies and gentlemen, here is Italian composer Mr Ennio Morricone!
@arnodobler1096

Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone were classmates, but they didn't realize it until their first time working together. Leone wrote the scripts, then Ennio composed the music, and only then did they shoot. Often the music was playing during the shoot, which is why the music and the acting harmonize so well. My favourite is "Once upon a time in America" (the 4 hour version)

Great reaction, probably the best of many I've seen for this great piece. I'd like to ask you to react to "minstrel boy", an old Irish tune about a good, faithful Irish boy who died for home that over the years has been taken up as a tune paying respect to all soldiers who gave their all for home. If you can get through the whole thing without shedding a single tear, you're a stronger man than I. Many thanks

This was written by ENNIO MORRICONE for a western "the good, the bad and the ugly" with Clint Eastwood and directed by Sergio Leone. Sergio Leone went also to school with Ennio Morricone when they where children in Italy in 1936 or something. So Cool

Your reaction is exactly what I would expect. You are correct this is a phenomenal performance. Tuva Semmingsen got the nickname the waa waa lady after this performance. She doesn't mind being remembered that way. The soprano blond appearing in the audience was done purposely to make the audience feel as though they were part of the show. This masterpiece was composed by Ennio Morricone, and while he did other movie scores, This IMO was his best work.
