Hey music friends!
The beautiful traditional Irish folk song 'Danny Boy' is my brand new release, out on 27th March 2024.
The haunting melody of 'Danny Boy' is one of my mother's favourite songs from her homeland and she taught it to me when I was a very small child. I have performed this live, many times.
But never recorded it.
There are so many wonderful versions of this song out there, by so many amazing singers, that I felt I needed to do something very personal with my version. So I set up the microphone one day and I just sang, a cappella & 'rubato'.
Neil worked a gorgeous accompaniment around me and I hope you will hear the full emotion of my feelings towards this song and its connection with my beautiful mother.
