Imagine if this movie had Emma Frost, HellClub, Shiar Empire.. or just a better costume for Jean, this movie would be so much better than fighting in a train against 'alien enemies with no name' :'(
I swear to God, if they don't work on this movie again in the mcu with the same cast I'm gonna be so mad...this movie and everyone involved in it have gotten so much hate for no freaking reason especially Simon kinberg who actually was gonna make a good movie but the test audience ruined everything. This movie deserves ANOTHER CHANCE
As a person who particularly fond in astronomy, I have always adore Jean and the Phoenix Force storyline. I just love the mysterious, cosmic aspect of their story that few characters cannot be compared. I always love movies and character talking about abstract ideas and the fate of humanity in the cosmos, and I felt extremely related to them in some ways. For now, I still have a glimpse of hope that the Director's Cut will be released to the audience. The Snyder Cut as first were doubt by general audience, they didn't have critical thinking to evaluate the movie and instead keep using critic's score as an excuse to bash Zack Snyder. And when the movie actually came out, I have not heard any single criticism against Zack or the movie. If Justice League can rise up on top of the sun, shouldn't Dark Phoenix can rise up from the ashes and explore the universe as well ? If they truly release the Director's Cut, I think Kinberg's reputation can be refined, and small audience like us can have a proper send-off to the long forgotten, but remarkable memory that has kept us happy.
Males41 like you, I too loved astronomy & physics as well & have always adored the complete Phoenix storyline of the X-MEN. I remember that it was that particular storyline that made me complete my collection of #1-250 of The X-MEN. After #250 I just stopped collecting because the stories just kept getting worse.
I was asking questions of why they didn’t keep this ending but now I kinda do see why they don’t…it’s simple Cause the xmen don’t do Jack lol It’s Jean, Charles and Scott Vs the skrulls at the end.. while the rest of them are locked up.. As much as the normal ending isn’t that climatic .. atleast everybody kinda has time to shine and it ends in some form of bow.
10:55 A Brazilian channel described some of the final battle through leaks on reddit. He claims that in a moment, Xavier would be cornered by some skrulls and would mind-control the policemen around him to shoot the skrulls. In this, the skrulls ricochet a grenade towards the UN building and Cyclops would hit the grenade with his optic blasts, but because it was almost too late, he would end up damaging ONU Headquarters considerably.
At the end of the film, the mutants were recognized as a threat to society, which is why the school in the alternative ending is empty: the government took all the mutant children.
Despite the fact that Jean grey saved the earth and that she became like that during a mission ordered by the president ??? And the government take them to do what exactly???
And how the fuck would that link to the ending of Days of Future Past? Fox were absolute dunces for setting Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix in the 80s and 90s, they fixed all the continuity errors only to create new ones again. Idiots.
I feel really bad for Simon Kinberg. His directorial debut got sabotaged heavily. How disappointed and gutted he must’ve been. Has he even done anything since this? Even written anything?
Jean teaching about space and stuff would've tied everything together and explained why she decided to leave and explore the cosmos in the end. I hate what happened so much this could've been so good 😭
There's honestly no words to describe just how much I hate test audiences... Those guys ruin everything they watch. Think of all the times a director's cut came out with the original version that test audiences hated, they're always considered the superior cut of the film compared to the butchered theatrical version. #ReleaseTheDarkPhoenixUNCut

Because Simon Kinberg probably knew Dark Phoenix would be the last X-Men under Fox, he should’ve reworked the film so that the ending was more of a celebration of the X-Men films. Have the ending sort of link up with the first X-Men film with a reference to Senator Kelly, have Magneto start to build the machine to turn humans into Mutants and give the X-Men the suits from the original film. Just to sort of close the timeline and imply some variation of the original trilogy will transpire (because Days of Future Past altered the timeline). At least then the fans would’ve had a proper ending
What would have happened to Mystique? Mystique is alive in the first movie. I remember hearing an idea from fans that the Mystique killed would turn out to be one of the “skrulls” and the real mystique is alive somewhere.

I mean anything could’ve have happened in this film bc this movie was made to fit the narrative of after days of future past. Wolverine had changed the timeline entirely and created a new one where everyone was alive including jean herself. I would assume that the dark Phoenix storyline would have happened long ago with her character and it would’ve been here. Since they were going from dofp to apocalypse.
In my personal opinion the ending should have show a divided society one part sees the mutants as a treat, politicians talking about reactivating the sentinel program, mutant registration act ( imagine a bruce davison cameo as senator kelly) and the other part of the society sees the x-men as heroes
I exactly think Jessica Christian was going to be playing Empress R'Kill since it was going to be the Skrulls. I do amore these Skrulls design way more then Captain Marvel version.
Interesting, this makes me curious and frustrated at the same time. I would love to see the unreleased footage, maybe some fans will be bold enough to add their own VFX to it and give us something close to it. I did sign the petition, I feel the challenge behind it but who knows, let's see how it turns out!!! That 3rd original act..... I want to see it..... even without the complete VFX.
Never knew it was originally supposed to be a two part movie. The original plans for the two movies sound great. Would have loved to see the Hellfire Club back and the concept art for them and their sets look fantastic. The two part story and plans sound like they would have made an amazing conclusion to the Fox X-Men universe.

(times it's been a bit hard to read the text because the youtube bar overlapped with it while pausing, but it was manageable) While I know there will never be another cut for the movie, simply for budget reasons, I really, REALLY wanna know what the originally had in mind and see the scenes that were filmed, but scrapped. Since Dark Phoenix was most likely the last we'll see of the X-Men we knew, I just really wish to see more of them. They didn't even include a gag reel on the DVD/BD, which already tells me how cursed this whole production must have turned.... Really, really sad. Even if chances are tiny, when time passes and wounds heal (I guess?), maybe they'd be willing to give away some more material. Probably not, I'm still hoping... Anyway, good job on this! Josh Boone revealed last year that they still planned on making a second Phoenix until after the studio was sold. They had to re-edit the movie to remove any dangling plot threads.

@@DarkPhoenix_UN-Cut Boone realized in another interview that the new studio head at Fox didn’t want another prequel movie. So what I think happened is that the two parter was retooled and the second film probably would have featured the return of the original cast.
my beef is why did they change the fire effect it was so good the idea of her body breaking and repairing herself was such an interesting way to show her containing the phoenix
Based on feedback from concept artists, the fire design was removed to avoid similarities or comparisons with effects of characters such as The Human Torch. But there are also assumptions that they were asked to change it because they would use that effect for another Marvel character who had a movie that year. Creatively, the cosmic design bears resemblance to comic book designs that even use pink colors, but it is not what we expected from the first trailers. Remember that the effects are always subject to change, but we do not understand why discard a design as supreme as the first that was seen of Jean on fire.
@@DarkPhoenix_UN-Cut I also noticed with the final version of the fire Phoenix effect, is that it looks like the Phoenix colors from the actual Dark Phoenix comic because if you look at the pages you can see the Phoenix flames have the same purple-pink and yellow colors. So I think they wanted to make it look more comic-accurate.

I didn't understand even if they changed the story because Disney, why they took the fire away? I mean she's a Phoenix, She is FIRE I was so dissappointed because the Russian trailer shows Jean in FIRE, it's only a close up but it's beautiful. Also the original cut with Jean sacrificing herself into a supernova to kill the skrulls and save her family is so Jean. And it's close to the story in the comics. Even if there's no Hellfire and no Shi'ar, I always would have preferred to see the version the stupid test audiences saw. No one loves Captain Marvel, and I hate they had to reshoot and chage it all because the fucking Carol Danvers no one love because she is so fucking annoying while Jean is love and the Dark Phoenix saga will always be one of the best comics forever. Jean was originaly intented to have fire, tha's why the first pictures of her was on fire. But then the problems started and she endend like a better looking version of Last Stand Dark Phoenix. It's so sad. I just hope Disney cast Sophie again as Jean. She was amazing and she deserved to be Jean longer. In the theatrical cut no one understand why she had the Phoenix (with actual fire) in Apocalypse because in the original scrip it was going to explain that Jean was born with a part of the Phoenix, just like in the comics. But they cut that, so Dark Phoenix theatrical release makes no sense thanks to that. Just imagine the original movie with the masterpiece soundtrack the movie has thanks to Hans Zimmer.

Wow, I think These Unused Concepts and Material would've made Dark Phoenix even better. Heck, The Unused Final Battle that was cut because of Captain Marvel, actually looks Even Better than The Captain Marvel Final Battle. It's a Darn Shame This Version of Dark Phoenix Never Happened, as it would've been a Much better Movie in My Opinion. However, because Jean is back on Earth in DOFP, Psylocke silently vowing Vengeance in Apocalypse, Mr Sinister Teases, and that Quicksilver Still needs to tell him that Magneto is is Dad, I think we deserve at least One More Movie, that Not only Delivers on Those Promises, and Bridge The Gap between Dark Phoenix and The End of Days of Future Past, but too also give The Fox X-Men Franchise a More Proper Satisfying Conclusion, before The X-men joins The MCU. As for The New Mutants, let's just pretend that's Not Canon. It probably won't happen because Disney bought Fox, Dark Phoenix Flopped, and how eager They are to put them in The MCU. But The Fox X-Men Franchise deserves a More Fitting Fair Well, than Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants.

And I really think that she would’ve been so much more powerful and the visuals and the cinematography of the movie would’ve been amazing. I just really wanna see it and I hope we’ll see it. It was also the same with Snyders Cut. Everyone thought that they won’t release it anyway but they did. And I have true hope that it’ll happen to the original Dark Phoenix movie. It would probably have been the best X-men movie of all time. And also jean is so much more powerful in the comics and they did her so bad in the movie and she has probably been way more powerful in the original script. And I just hope we‘ll see it and I spread the hashtag and I’ve signed the petition.

As far as we know, that's part of the original cut and it was always planned. Everything changes after Jean frees Charles. In the original cut she did not transfer power to Vuk.
@@dannyboy141 Mainly the scene where Jean transfers power to Vuk. Jean being captured, only the rest were captured. The complete train sequence and the final battle of the Phoenix. The X-Men as teachers, the end in Paris. The Death of Mystique was re-recorded. Parts of Jean in Genosha. Jean and Scott after returning from space, originally that scene was different, right where she took off the visor. And apparently the sequence where Vuk shows Jean the illusion about the Phoenix force, which was also different. Maybe I am forgetting some other.

captain marvel is the reason why we didnt get this, dark phoenix was planned in 2018 captain marvel released in 2019, the director said it was a little bit similar so THEY CHANGED ALL OF IT EVEN THO THEY WERE THE FIRST ONE WHO CAME UP WITH IT
okay even if they did not fully stick to the comics, this would be a better alternative than the officially released dark phoenix, showed more of her potential and the fiery bird effects rather than just disintegrating aliens
