So, probably no power plant in the origin world since the Unknown weren't around to pressure the coal industry. What are differences do you think there are? Let me know if you have any questions about the family trees in Dark after season 3.
The casting was mindblowing. Not only how extremely good the actors/actresses were, but also how much the younger versions looked like the older versions and the resemblances between the relatives - i've never watched anything where it was as perfectely done as here.
MOST OVERRATED SERIES EVER ! you wanna know why. PLOT HOLES! In the alternate world, Hannah wouldn't have gone back in time to 1954 to mate with Egon, which means Silja wouldn't exist and thus, Noah, Charlotte, Tronte, Mads, Magnus, Martha, Mikkel, etc. also wouldn't exist. Also, when they arrive in the origin universe, somehow the Nuclear powerplant still exists there? So we're supposed to assume that the nuclear powerplant was built without the guiding hand of "the unknown?" Just because you are providing every element possible in a science book it doesn't means it's the greatest ever thing which will be coming out as the final result. Every single scene contains synth and suspenseful music, even when they make sandwiches or say the most irrelevant things, music score is absolutely annoying.
Back in season 1 we thought that Noah is older Bartosz because they look like each other, it turns out Bartosz is Noah's father that's why they resemble each other. They really did an amazing casting not just with young and old version of the characters but with family resemblance too.
I thought it was hilarious seeing Adam, an all-knowing type, have this wtf moment after his experiment to kill the origin failed. Never thought I'd see him so vulnerable hahahaha
@@GangStalker17 Also the scene with the last Adam & Eve meeting was amazing. The look on her face was very well acted. "Wait wtf, this isn't supposed to happen"
So there’s this cool thing they did where The guy who created the time machine specifically to save his son - the machine actually worked and saves his son and Inadvertently caused for the demise of its own creation. So this means that time machines do exist in our world except we cannot know of its existence because the time machine will set it out to do what it is fated to do and cease to exist. I suppose it also gave a new meaning to “angels”.
This comment right !!! I was thinking same thing after rewatching the series ; I loved this show so much ; didnt get it first time that the time machine did what it needed to do;
Claudia and the fact that she have heterochromatic eyes is the best easter egg ever - she is the only one, who can travel through both dimensions in the same time, seeing all connections and knots :) she connects it all
it's amazing how throughout the series it is shown that Claudia doesn't have an interest in her daughter or her life or that she doesn't love her enough to stay with her, etc. but in the end only, we come to know that her whole journey in all time was only about keeping Regina alive in any of the two worlds and she even agrees to help Adam to get out of the loop just for this reason alone.
@@Jay-bt4xu he posted the behind the scenes photo of her wearing the pendant last year. Everyone was sure she would turn out to be the lady in the lake after that.
@@PetePeppers1 yeaa, and when Jonas was shot I thought he was dead but then I kept thinking how does the older version exist I don't have a lot of knowledge about physics but when I found out there are like 2 realities I was shocked
No maybe they’ll have another season. Because it still left with some incomplete stories. As Tannhaus didn’t created or thought about time machine so what happens next? Who will be the child hannah is carrying? And they still have to explain the fact about that yellow jacket hannah had a deja vu with. XD
I rather have them stop at peak than turning into a terrible show like so many before. I'll miss it too, bcs decent Scifi is hard to come by these days.
@@muralquadros7974 That would have been great to see A Dinosaur riding a whale That's my dream Today 5 October 2020, Remember this date If something similar happens that happened in my dream So You know what to do
So true. Like I get the feeling the final table scene was meant to show us the cycle just began for the origin world. Jonas and Martha brought the time machine and dark matter to the origin world. Once used the decay of the dark matter is supposed to take years. The meltdown of 1986 could still happen causing the dark matter to expand and infinite loop to begin and endless suffering to happen. That’s why Hannah has that bad dream just like how Jonas and Martha keep having realistic bad dreams in their own world of the apocalypse. At least that’s how I see it and if that’s how the show runners intended it then damn what a depressing ending. I guess it’s like inception, up to interpretation. Some people see it keep spinning some see it fall
@@AtlantaGuns there's no cycle in the origin. Tannhaus doesn't feel the need to create the time machine anymore, so time travel is not invented there. and the cycle only applied to the parallel worlds because they were in the loop. the last scene is meant to show some of the main characters who will exist in the origin because their existence didn't rely on the time travel. neither Hannah, Katharina, Peter, Regina or Woller siblings were born out of the time travel events. so they exist. but as Silja cannot exist there, Agnes, Traunte and Ulrich cannot either.
I love how the series shifted attention on Claudia. She seemed to be a key figure in Season 1 and then they emphasized on her in Season 2 and then in Season 3 they made us believe that she was only a puppet of Eva until Episode 7. She is far the best character for me in this show along with Regina who suffers the most in each time line in Adam's and Eva's world and then she survives in the origin world and owns the Kanhwald house. I remember Regina saying to Clausen in Season 2 that "We have nothing to do with the Nielsens" and this eventually turns out to be so true that actually saves her life.
I think there was a hint that Bernd Doppler was interested in Claudia when she was still very young ...when she was tutoring Helge. Bernd told her how she was growing up and he paid her for tutoring. She said it was too much and he insisted she take it. I thought it seemed creepy but maybe it was to show he took an interest in her to explain how they ended up married in the end.
Yah if we see that at claudia as a child then it sounds creepy but when Claudia is all Grown up like a lady and she works under Bernd in the power plant it makes sense that they would have fallen in love in the origin world and ended up giving birth To regina cuz love has no age boundations !!
@@i_am_nishu There was no power plant in the origin world. There was no back story provided, just a family pic depicting that Bernd & Claudia were together. Claudia never got married in the two worlds - She was a single mother.
Young Claudia had a keen outlook on male anatomy and her ending up with an older guy wrecked my brain my brain at one point but on final perspective of the whole series,, the relationship tree is pretty mess up. So, no problem I guess. 😄
So what is the story of Dark???? Its the story of a watchmaker who wants to build a time machine and reverse time to save his kids from an accident and his kids get saved from the accident even before he could make the time machine
He was kept in the dark of the fact he made a time machine. A time machine which created 2 alternative worlds. One 'light' and one 'dark', where most attention of story went to. Also 3 worlds, 3 seasons, 33 year time gaps (~= 30 = half-life cesium-137), 3 unknowns...
My biggest satisfaction about the finale is having the answer to a question I had since season 1: How come Regina Tiederman got to own the hotel that was previously Bernt Doppler's residence? Well now we know. All makes sense, along with her being chosen with becoming the head of the power plant.
@@prajwal_kudre She would presumably have spent a lot turning the Doppler residence into a hotel - probably more than even the head of power plant had in ready cash - and then suddenly she had no guests because nobody wanted to stay in Winden. So she probably took out large loans totally confident that she could pay them, and then the bottom fell out of her business.
* if alexander tiddamenn is a head of power plant he would run his house on his own and help regina to pay her lones * If alexander tidamenn is a head then he would be rich in winden and clear debts of regina and also run his house on his own
Yeah in the origin world, he just stays in 1986! And the part where they role his body over and he shouts “I’m Mikkel Riiiiick!!”??! They really jumped the shark there.
Why do I feel that Merak and Sonja are Jonas and Martha from the past. Merak and Sonja were also in deep love with each other just like Jonas and Martha. And its because of their death, that Tannhaus created the time machine which resulted in creating the two worlds, which in fact revolve around Jonas and Martha. Also, Merak may sound similar to Martha and Sonja is anagram of Jonas. Like its said, everything is connected.
@@jlupus8804 It doesn't have to be reincarnation. After all it was stated specificaly that the origin world was split in two. It's the word "split" that perhaps suggests that all the characters that supposedly don't axist anymore have actually always exsted in the origin world in a different form and "they" how we see them in the show are the warped split versions.
The Three were a brilliant addition, classic horror character like tendencies to them. All in the detail like the way they clasp their hands at the same time etc. It’s the most complete series I’ve ever seen.
I`d have loved to hear more about his story. I guess the moment when he hugged Martha was the moment when she decided to preserve the knot so she could have him. But as he told Tronte, he was never given a name. So who raised him and how did he become the trio?
@@annaf3915 I think his older selves raised him and Martha didn't cos she was too busy with travelling and also sent her son on a killing spree. This explains why he wasn't given a name.
Anna F Martha raised him. She did everything she did so that he could be born. The only reason she’s enemies with Adam is because Adam wants to ends the loop (stop him from being born) and Martha wants him to be born
Claudia is the most important character in this whole show. She was able to see the real motives in both Adam's and Eva's campaigns and also found out the origin world, not to mention the love she has for Regina and the fact that she was amazing during school and later became the director of the nuclear power plant.
1:53 Interesting side note: In the German version of the show they say "...er hat keinen Namen..." (....he has no name...). "Keinen" in German is pronounced very similarly to "Cain" (one of the two sons of Adam and Eve in the Bible). While this might not have been intended, there are so many interesting cross-references and hints in so many small details, it is absolutely amazing...
About Claudia and Bernd Doppler's relationship: we have a little creepy hint somewhere in season 3, when tween Claudia goes to the Doppler house and Bernd observes her and makes a comment on her beauty. It can get lost through all the other details, but I remember it because I felt the comment was weird, coming from a full grown man. After seeing that he was Regina's father it all made sense.
@@zalhamalham9116 but then how did they travel back it would mean it already existed, and if time is linear which it would most likely be if he came back thinking he could prevent it, he would probably be the cause of it existing or be prevented in some way to preserve the continuity.
Just imagine how crazy it would have been if Tronte was actually Regina's father! Then, he would be part of two loops: Tronte- Regina- Bartosz- Agnes- Tronte. And: Tronte- Ulrich- Mikkel- Jonas- Unknown- Tronte. He would have been the most important character even more than Martha, Jonas, or the Unknown.
I love how it just started with Jonas's dad committing suicide and we thought that mikkel mads and erik's disappearance was the biggest plot and the mikkel/micheal was the biggest plot twist.... And now in s3 they just switching realities
Absolutely agree with you! It was so amazing, realising that when Katharina died, that pendant was buried in the mud by the lake and the one to find it decades later is her grandson, the son of the son she was dying for while being bludgeoned to death by her own mother and that grandson? He is at the lake flirting with her daughter, while she is also seeing her grand grand grandfather. Crazy show!
Same for Tronte Nielsn Family and Tannhaus Family👪 Trickets owned by a previous family member keeps finding it's way back to the loved ones. Tronte gets his moms Agnes' snake 🐍 brcelet he gives it to Jana then marries her when they grow up. Jana in middle age still has the bracelet when sitting on the couch. THEN "for Charolette" watch ⌚ given and kept by people who are considered loved ones of a Tannhaus family line. FINALLY Martha given by Jonas the ST. Christopher pendant that her grandmother had and her baby daddy's (Jonnas) moms Hannah owned. ...👀 oh Damn " they ARE perfect together !!!!! Never believe anything else 😭😜😂
Yeah you're right. I know that Egon gave it to Hannah to Helena albers and then left at the beach where Jonas and Martha found it and after that Martha had it. After this the locket is directly shown in dark s2 and episode 1 in the bunker on the photo of Martha . How does the locket get in the bunker?? I know that stranger Jonas kept it when he came to 25th Jun 2020 and kept on the pillow so that Martha found it. And then it's not shown . How come stranger Jonas have it?
A video only about the objects including the pendent, the letter, the pocket watch, the gun literally so many objects travel and become kind of significant
I don’t know why but I realised that most of the parents got killed by their child or otherwise, like Claudia killed her dad, Katharinas mother killed her daughter Jonas killed Hannah, Hanno/Noah kills his dad bartosh... like what’s up with that 😅
Interestingly, all of those killings take place in Adam's world. It could be construed as a motif that echoes Adam's desire to end it all for everyone.
What I love about this series the most is that it takes the concept of time-travel into a whole other level. Travelers cause consequences to the world and have so many profound ripple effect.
I thought it was pretty clear that The Uknown were responsible for Boris to run to winden, as in framing him for the murder, as when they kill the blind Thannhaus, he says the same lines that were written on Clausen's letter, which for me, makes it pretty clear that their role is to start the cycle. Thats why there is no Boris to marry Regina at the end, he wasn't framed for it
no the fact that he said the same line as the letter implies that The Unknown was the one who wrote the letter to Clausen in order for him to come to Winden to eventually start the apocalypse. The Unknown has nothing to do with the actual crime that Boris commits
I always felt bad for Helge.Poor guy. He's always been bullied throughout the series..his mom was rude and he was only a security guard of powerplant..Noah brainwashed him and even in his old age he couldn't let go his trauma
The moral of Dark. Attempting to rewrite history to save your loved ones, is messy but other than that it actually works out quite well with no consequences, and is encouraged even though you might accidentally create two universes who exist just to torment their inhabitants. If you can time travel, try it and see what happens, what do you have to lose.
True, I also suspected of her! In season 3 it is explained that they left town for a while after Ulrich escaped the mental asylum and tried to lead Mikkel into the cave. Mikkel must have recognized his father even if he was 33 years older so she had a good reason to drug him - he must have been extremely upset. If I remember correctly from previous seasons, the doctors thought Mikkel made up the time travel story because he`d been through trauma. So maybe she thought she was doing him a favor by giving him drugs to calm him down... I`d have loved to hear more about Mikkel`s side of the story, for me it was the most intriguing one. What it must be like to grow up in the wrong time with noone believing you, seeing historical events repeat themselves, then becoming a father and slowly realizing that it was your own son who led you into the cave when you were a child...
Anyone else feel like it's weird that Magnus and Franziska never had kids? I mean, one or both might've been infertile, but it still seems weird that with how much everyone got busy on the show, they're the only ones who never got pregnant.
Magnus could have been used in the family tree as well. Plot Suppose there is daughter of magnus and Franziska. Then the baby somehow manages to go to future and grow there just like silja and comes to the bartosz same like silja. After giving birth to Noah, silja dies and bartosz marries magnus's daughter and have Agnes. This makes family tree more complicated, right? How's this plot?
Writer: Ronnie Schalk. Created by: Baron bo Odar & Jantje Friese. These three are aliens...... Literally a human mind is that creative. They should give their time travel theory... DARK is one of the greatest show ever made and the greatest complex story ever told.
It's interesting how many characters either kill or are killed by their parents - Jonas telling his father (Michael/Mikkel) about him committing suicide leads him to do just that. Stranger Jonas strangles his mom. Katharina is bashed with a rock by her mom. Noah axes his father (Bartozs). Regina is suffocated with a pillow by who we assumed was her father (Tronte)...
I was just so relieved at the end of it all, all the relationships and hopping around weren’t important so I didn’t have to continue being confused. I was pretty lost on Season 3... but it didn’t matter because it was all like a dream anyway. What a fun ride and I was satisfied at the end.
Martha: 0. The one who still hasn't learned about time travel before Jonas (2) arrives at Eva's world. She meets Jonas who tells her about time travel, they fall in love and conceive The Unknown. After Jonas dies, she goes to talk with Bartosz and explains everything to him about the Apocalypse and the power plant. As they are heading there they are met by Magnus and Franziska from Adam's world. She goes with them and travels to Adam's world at the time of the apocalypse. 1. The one from the reality where Martha doesn't save Jonas and leaves with Bartosz instead back to Eva's world. She then meets Eva who gives her the huge cut on her face. After that, she travels to the past to kill the Jonas (2) that Martha (2) left in Eva's world. After that, she will end up giving birth to The Unknown and turning into Eva. 2. The one from the reality where Martha saves Jonas (2) from the apocalypse in Adam's world and takes him to Eva's world. After that, she leaves for 1888 back in Adam's world and ends up dying in 2053 to Adam and the portal. 3. The one from the reality that travels alongside Jonas (3) to the Origin world to prevent Tannhaus' family from dying. Jonas: 0. The one up to Martha's death from Adam's world. 1. The one that is not saved by Alt Martha. He runs to the basement at the moment of the Apocalypse and survives. After that, he stays in 2020 and works alongside Claudia and Noah to stabilize the portal in the power plant. This Jonas eventually becomes The Stranger and eventually Adam. 2. The one that is saved by Alt Martha (2). He then goes to find Martha (0), he tells her about time travel, they fall in love and conceive The Unknown. He's on his way with Martha (0) to the power plant. He then recognizes Martha (0)'s cut below her eye from the Martha (2) that saved him. He changes his mind and goes back to Eva's headquarters. Shortly after, Martha (1) comes from the future and kills him. 3. The one from the reality that is saved by Adam. Adam takes him to Eva's world and gives him the sphere. Jonas activates the sphere and makes a run for Martha (0) right before she leaves with Magnus and Franziska. They travel to June 1986 in Adam's world at the moment that their two worlds are created by Tannhaus in the Origin world. They travel to the Origin world and prevent Tannhaus' family from dying. I used numbers after the names to indicate with which version each interaction takes place. Hopefully it's clear enough.
I had goosebumps when I remember bartosz story about the lake ( back in season 2 ) about a women who was killed and her dead body keeps in the deep water, after that magnus drowned Martha as a joke Well actually.....
the dialogue the end is the beginning and beginning is the end proves by the end (Adam) is beginning (Jonas) and beginning (jonas) is end (Adam) omg !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you tweet by netflix 'HANNAH' is palindrome other meaning of end is beginning and begining is new end. 🤯🤯🤯🤯 Hannah decides to name the child jonas in origin world. Tht gave me chills!!!
@@shahzadmohammed1581 you said the same thing twice buddy Should have said Adams beginning (jonas)is the end of tanhauss (his experiments with time And tanhauss beginning (his family's safety and happiness) is the end of Jonas(being wiped of both the alt world's )
It will be interesting to have a video which traces the St. Chistopher locket's journey throughout the series...and maybe also, all the things that are a bootstrap paradox
Absolutely amazing! Even the origin world is based on the thought experiment and the dualities. In one case, Tannhaus's family dies in the car crash which enables time travel and everything we notice in the three seasons. In the other 'state' his family survives because of Jonas and Martha (the product of time-travel)! The two states always exist! The car crash happens and doesn't happen!
Just noticed that during the final dinner party Benni is wearing the bird necklace that Magnus found underneath the bridge near the tracks in the first season that he thought was Francisca's. Must have been Benni's all along. Details....
I asked my Mom if she ever met a person during her teenage year that looks exactly like me. She said Yes and become her husband and my father. Anxiety is real.
In the final scene of the show of season 3 , the people that are shown having dinner , Ironically are the only people got killed in the alternative worlds ... isn’t it strange !!!!
Exactly what I thought...those who were meant to live in origin world are all killed in the alternative worlds.👍😁the others in alternative worlds had to survive to maintain the loop and to eventually destroy it.great sacrifice indeed...
Very satisfied with they way the writers tied up all the lose ends to each character. Near perfect attention to the smallest detail throughout all 3 seasons. The finale was bittersweet. Never believe anything else.
@A Comment Regina was is the forest without Ulrich and Katherina being there. The bullying happened after they noticed her being there. She could still meet Boris, just without him saving her.
i honestly think they will get together at some point, Dark never used the butterfly effect, everything was always predestined to happen. So for me it doesnt make sense that Regina and Boris will never meet BECAUSE of the butterfly effect. Look at Peter and Benni for example that got together in world 1, world 2 and in the original world. Because its predestined.
Throughout 3 seasons i had to keep my mobile near me so that whenever i get confused i would google the characters and know that this is him or this is her.😂
"the beginning is the end" just like Charlotte being her own grandmother, Jonas is his own great great great grandfather, and Martha is her own great great grandmother
I think that’s the whole point of the series: parents doing selfish things for their children. The show only begins because Tannhaus wants to save his son. The show only ends because Claudia wants her daughter to have a happy life. We only have the middle of the show because Martha wants to do the exact opposite of Adam: keep her only son alive. And about the name, in german “The Stranger” sounds a lot like Kain... Adam and Eva’s child, Caim.
Thanks for such an amazing breakdown of this very complicated family dynamic, different worlds and timelines! I'm gonna rewatch S3, and go back and watch S 1,2,3.
It's not Marta and Jonas that are the origin of the family tree. It's actually Hannah and Egon. They both exist in the original world and play a role in the alternative ones. They are the grandparents of Agnes who's Ulrich's grandma and Marta and Jonas's great grandma. Egon is even at the top farther than Hannah because he's Claudia's father and Bartosz's great grandfather! Marta and Jonas are then the origin of the remaining members of the family trees of both alternative worlds because of their "creepy" son who fathered Tronte in both universes.
Exactly... Martha`s motivation to keep the cycle repeating itself is that her son should be born. But then she didn`t even give him a name? And how and when did he/they become the trio?
It was important since in both world we don't know about the husband of Agnes but we come to know in S3 that actually 'the Unknown' is the husband of Agnes and Father of Tronte, Grandfather of Ulrich and Great Grand father of 'MARTHA' and Magnus and Mikkel. So there was this another reason as if there was no unknown than she would have never actually existed and hence she not existing means total sh*t. Also she wants to continue the loop because in one way she has just left the hope to break the cycle since her younger version was betrayed by Adam and his accomplices by putting her in confinements and also the other way around could be that she simply found it evil of Adam's plans that he would destroy the entire world in order to break the cycle but she doesn't want that. I don't know that's the only plothole of these series I guess.
I finished all the three seasons in last 3 days. My head is spinning and I'm overwhelmed with emotions, but this is not going to stop me from reading discussions on reddit and watching all videos on youtube about the show. Please tell me how can I stop this and go back to my normal life ?
Did it feel like the ending came out of nowhere in the last minute? As if all the time invested in understanding the complex relations in s1/s2 didn't matter at the end?
If you wanted a complete unbroken cycle then every episode except the last one focuses on completing the cycle. It's really great that they made an entire episode where they will break the cycle. And actually the whole story focuses on Jonas breaking the cycle so that's it.
Well the way this story was told we knew the beginning and end, and season 3 was basically the middle. It doesn't leave a "our heros got to the end of their journey" vibe but a "this journey is now complete" vibe.
I didn't feel that way at all. We had to understand how complex and disastrous the knot was before we could really appreciate why it needed to be undone. Simply destroying both worlds would not have been a happy or satisfying ending at all, but there was no way to untie the knot without destroying everything. The ending found a way around that conundrum.
Just finished season 3 today. What an amazing series. Halfway through season 1 I also completely lost track of who relates to whom, and went back to episode 1 and started drawing a big family tree. You can focus much better on the story and connect the dots when you see the (partial) big picture. I did the same with The Expanse, after season 1 I had completely lost track of who travels from where to where, on what mission, which ship is captured by X, attacked by Y, rerouted to Z... if you like connecting dots, and you prefer "realistic" sci-fi/space (a lá Battlestar Galactica) then I highly recommend The Expanse. But do keep track of events from the start, otherwise you will get just as lost as in Dark.
I enjoyed the final season. I was a little disappointed by the whole "Taunhaus did it" ending, but it still worked for me. I'll have to rewatch to see how it all fits. Love all the videos. Glad you're doing them, not many people are.
