When I heard a new skip had been found, my first thought was "I wonder how long it'll take for Kahmul to break a WR with it". The answer seems to be "not long at all" lmao good job lad
Thank you for the advice but I pretty much master the fat roll moveswap but I'm really trying to get into the fast roll for speedrun this is really next level menuing
MrPnda oh, I see. In that case, are you jumping to moveswap? Doing it off a fastroll is near impossible. Other than that, I guess you just need more practice.
MrPnda Yeah unfortunately it's one of those things where you just need to be good at. There are no real tips or tricks to do it other than using animations with longer timeframes. Just gotta do it. Good luck!
I'm not 100% sure but it seems like he uses a moveswap with the drake sword and the mail breaker as you can see around 15:40 ( before the iron golem ) that allows him to use the running jab move of the mailbreaker for the drake sword.
good point, thanks! the weapon is always in the left hand, being two-handed. I'm sure if I mucked around long enough I could figure it out. I learned so much from this video!
It's on speedsouls.com , I can't get a direct link right now cause I'm at work but if you search in youtube: Sen's Skip you should find a video on it. In short you parry and reposte a skeleton soldier on the stairs going to the Undead Church bonfire (By the blacksmith) at the 3rd post up with your back to the wall. The game locks your camera in a "death" mode and you can no longer adjust the camera angle. At that point you can run through the wall of the church (The side that faces Sen's) on the same level as the bonfire, and then when you save and quit once you get inside Sen's, the game respawns you inside the room.
I can't give an exact time but: 6000+ attempts on BKH Any% 3000+ attempts on Crapplemage All Bosses 1000+ attempts on Swordlemage All Bosses ~1000 attempts on Mail Draker All Bosses (current WR route) In addition, Saturday night meme runs with other speedrunners on Twitch. Lastly, his non-stream practice routine, which we don't know how much.
the silver knight archers in anor londo.. i was stuck there for 3 fucking hours on my 1st play. and here it jumps right off... this kind of pisses me off
Great run and some sick skills! But my issue with these runs are they always utilize glitches. Where are the real speed runs where cheating is illegal?
jeremy forrest it depends on the category of speedrun. in this case, the category is all bosses meaning the runner may use any means necessary to kill all bosses as fast as possible. there are glitchless runs but nobody runs that anymore i believe.
In Dark Souls speedrunning, ONLY restriction is using third party programs. (like Cheat Engine) Other than that, all of those glitches are making the game much more enjoyable and exciting, not to mention that they need some serious practice discipline to perform. Note that Kiln Skip is restricted for All Bosses and Any% as well because it's whole another category. It skips half of the game, that's why it's seperate obviously.
jokamutta He's a penspinner that I believe used to be active on GPC penspinning forums. Some of his older uploads are freestyle spinning videos. We're really rare overall, so I was pretty shocked to see that the WR souls runner was also a spinner.
