Invaded by every Darkmoon Blade in existence? What the fuck are you on about Silver Mont? I mean the four armies already have to deal with shitty peer-to-peer connection and constant server disconnects as it is, and you think the Blades of the Darkmoon are ever going to get summoned? xD Seriously though, the Blades are too busy farming ears to deal with Sully.

If we take into consideration that Sulyvan manipulates everything you see and hear about(Including you),i'm pretty sure that Anor Londo and Dranglake would be triple-penetrated at once.But The Ringed City on the other hand.... Sw..... Ooo i'm already seeing Sulyvan getting a payback.Cuz if the Pygmy Lord decide to stand up from their thrones,Sulyvan is pretty much gonna die before he even physically dies.Cuz let's not ignore the Fact that Gwyn's army fucked entire hordes of Arch-Dragons with its Dragon-Slayers and Abyss Knights of humans.

Good point. If Vendrick were a player character, I feel like he would have straight 50s across his stats - we know he used a greatsword and an ultra greatsword as his main weapons.

Vendrick is a sword and board character, Longsword and Shield. Also he apparently can throw cursed fireballs that instantly curses people when it, rarely seen in his hollow form. Looks really similar to dark hand.

Silver Mont he probably infused mundane in his ruler's sword, the crazy fucker also take into consideration the power of that sword. if you're holding 1 million souls, that thing has damage on par with ulras. when we will him, he only holds 90,000 souls, so the sword is at 9/100 of its power

I think we can all agree irithyll, sulyvhan, his out riders, his fire witches, his hand maidens, his slaves, his weird arm things, his Aldrich, his beasts, his rings, his knights and the fact he conquered an admittedly weak anor London proves the pontiff is the king of kings (don't forget the stuff he got from conquering anor londo)
@SilverMont
@SilverMont 7 лет назад
Honestly, Irithyll would've been a more interesting option for this video than Lothric - I should've done them instead, haha. Suly does somewhat lack commanders though. As a leader though, he's way better than Lothric - asides from being a better fighter, he seems to be rather wily.

I'd say Archdeacon Royce, Aldrich and (previously) Archdeacon McDonnel all counts as Irithyll commanders. The outrider knights (including Dancer and Vordt) might also count as commanders, unless you choose to view them as siege weapons. Also, Oceiros is (prooobably) an ally of Irithyll, given the connection between Archdragon Peak/Irithyll Dungeon and Oceiros. Additionally, I'd like to add that Sulyvahn's army includes giant slaves, fire witches, cathedral knights, Sulyvahn's beasts, Deep Accursed, Irithyll Slaves, Pontiff Knights, Hollow Dogs, Cathedral Evangelists, and, perhaps most importantly, Silver Knights.

Didn't Vendrick conquer all 4 Lord Souls before he built Drangleic? Should say alot about his strenght
@SilverMont
@SilverMont 7 лет назад
Dark Souls II basically makes it a point to say "Dark Souls style events have happened many times: Undead conquers the Lord Souls and then either links the fire or becomes the Dark Lord" and Vendrick is the "Chosen Undead" that came before our player character. Vendrick chose the Dark Lord ending and sought to use his established power to find a cure. He did a lot of conquering and even pillaged the land of the giants along with Nashandra. It's also possible he knew about the Ringed City, or at least its legend. He's also the one who creates the blessing that allows the Bearer of the Curse to escape the effects of the curse. So in a lot of ways he's similar to the player character, and that's one reason I think he'd be so good - because the player character is usually one of the most powerful things in these games. Logically, the Chosen Undead / Ashen One shouldn't be able to defeat Gwyn / Nameless King, considering they are just... some random undead. But they manage it. Could be the (will)power of humanity and all that.

Vendrick is the strongest because He basically worked with aldia to stuff unnatural amounts and types of souls into himself. I take his weakness to giant souls as indication that he melded giant souls into himself which gave him his size and power. DS2 giants appear to be weird creatures with a link to the archtrees based on how they turn to trees when they die.

honestly in this video the two kingdoms that stand out the most are Drangleic and Anor Londo. The two other kingdoms would get stomped pretty quickly. the way I look to look at it is individual units also considering 90% of everything in Dark Souls is Hollow I'm not going to try to imagine what every unit is in their "Prime" because that introduces so many variables that I don't want to think about it. now Hollow Warriors and Hollow soldiers versus Hollow Infantry and Hollow soldiers I think Drangleic has an edge because their units are better equipped as it were they're both in tatters but Drangleic's foder is less so. now higher on the rank we have silver Knights vs Royal Soldiers.... the silver Knights would melt through those pretty quickly so let's just skip to what I think would be their even match the Syan Knights, both are able to wield strong electricity based Magic silver knights with lightning Spears and syan nights with what I'm going to call lightning weapon I think lightning Spears would be rather ineffective against the Syan Knights given they are armed with Tower Shields both Silver Shield and Tower Shield having high physical and Elemental resistances so it's hard to say I'll leave that to you guys but I know you're going to say silver Knights. now on to the next one Black Knights versus Ruin Sentinels or flexile Sentrys. now the crowd favorite is definitely the Black Knights wielding Ultra weapons but both the flexile centuries and Ruin Sentinels match that in size and Power a plenty and both of their weapons would be able to keep the Black Knight at Bay either the Ruin Sentinels with their halberds or the flexile centuries with their flurry of Swords lashes and club strikes would be more than enough to take down the Black Knights. now one of my favorite matchings the the towering giant Sentinels from Anor Londo versus the crushing power of the Primal Knights both are highlights in each one's Army for certain, where as the Sentinels have Superior defense and the ability to heal the Primal Knights have Superior strength weapons most importantly numbers the Sentinels are far and few between but you see Primal knights all over Drangleic so I think that the win goes to the Primal nights on this one. now you have the Gargoyles and Winged demons which are definitely Troublesome considering joining leg does not have a lot of anti-air as it were but I think a combination of Dragon Riders and Alone captains/knights something you forgot to mention silvermont would easily strike them from the sky with their great bows that's all the matching and Dranglaic still has troops to spare the stone soldiers Ironclad Knights royal soldier's and something I forgot to mention entirely pursuers probably their Ace in the Hole each one surmounting to at least a general in strength and Drangleics got them a plenty so in terms of pure or military strength the might of been troops Army would crush Anor londo it wouldn't be a battle it would be a Slaughter forces of an hour-long that would be gone within the hour. sorry Dark Souls one fanboys even if you throw in special cases like the iron golem Seath the scaleless and the Four Kings and those are bosses I still think Drangleics Army would win the Four Kings versus for pursuers Seath the scaleless would take two and the Iron Golem would fall to a mixture of Ironclad alone and Dragon Rider. ARMY DONE GENERAL TIME. what start up for the fan favorite shall we who would be a match for Artorias and Sif definitely a formidable match to say the least able to decimate Legions of troops like it's going out of style but... if this is a two against two then they get stomped, Raime and Velstat would be more than a match if the 4 class trip would be out in a matter of seconds and it would turn into a to 2v one I'm not saying Artorias is a pushover but in the end even if he managed to take out one or the other he would fall and the victor of that fight could easily go on to kill either goh ( I forget how you spell his name ) or Lord's blade ciaran if not both (throw in a couple pursuers the back him) up since neither of them are particularly noteworthy despite big generals, now ornstein and Smogh versus Throne Watcher and Throne Defender some would think an obviously unbalanced fight but I beg to differ sure Smogh is more powerful than Throne Defender and Ornstein is more agile than Throne Watcher but they have a trump card ability to heal if one goes down the other gets up and so on and so forth without proper planning the fight is an uphill battle from start to finish sure the infamous gankers have a card up their sleeve as well but when that comes out it's a 2v One and we all know how those go so I give the edge to Throne Watcher and Throne Defender. now we have the Battle of Magic gwyndolin versus Nashandra and right off the bat Nashandra's at an Edge because of her dark element gwyndolin has powerful illusion magic but no chandra's Mastery of the dark proves more Superior considering she boats a heavy resistance to anything gwyndolin could throw at her this fight would drag on for a while but I think eventually gwyndolen would succumb to the dark, or get cursed to death who knows what would come first. now we still have Aldia and unless we include the witch of izalith or nito following the trend set by the army Drangleic still has some left to spare to cover any gaps. now the moment you've all been waiting for. GWYN V.S VENDRICK now I'm going to be judging both their Prime ( I know I said I wouldn't but I'm going to do it anyway because they're special ) and of their Hollow form. off the bat Hollow gwyn has an immediate disadvantage ( this also follows over to Prime version ) Vendrick overpower him by sheer size alone not to mention his offense and defense are more than triple Gwynn's Harlequin not having the ability to throw sunlight Spears relying entirely on his fire sword wouldn't even scratch Vendrick one or two swipes and it would be over for the Lord of Parry bait. now in their Prime, Gwyn has his sunlight Spears and they're awfully strong but correct me if I'm wrong but now Vendrick has a more master all use of his sword wielding in one hand while caring a shield in the other and clad in King's armor something he's not in the hollow version not to mention he still has that 32x damage reduction on top of his armor and shield he could easily block any sunlight spear she throws off and counter them with his Dark Orb something I forgot to mention in the hollow version which not only does huge damage to Lord kin but is definitely on par with sunlight spear and when it comes to up close fighting unless Gwyn's Kix to a hell of a lot of stamina damage and don't barely reach vendricks Shins he's not getting past that Shield anytime soon so anyway you slice it Gwyn goes down. now let's review. in terms of military strength Anor Londo is severely lacking as it never had prepared for any sort of crisis we're as Drangleic head repaired its military for extensive periods of time wether it be strength defense numbers or just sheer ability Drangleic comes out on top. the same goes for generals as well the only noteworthy one would be Artorias and any of the generals in Drangleic Army are a match for him and in terms of leaders Vendrick is a better tactician a better fighter and better equipped, hate on me all you want but Drangleic wins three out of three with flying colors mostly orange to be honest the game was kind of bland in terms of palette the Dark Souls one was the same in terms of Grey but I digress tell me what you think.

Vendrick also has the golems-and if the ones in the ivory king dlc are the same then they are not to be taken lightly in battle. Plus they do add a tireless workforce to build defenses and such for Drang. I feel Vendrick simply has too much going for his forces over the other lords.

@rueceless7580
@rueceless7580 7 лет назад
That is possible although given they look the same I'd imagine one Golem swinging it's arm around could do some decent damage to large groups of soldiers. The soul mechanic seems to imply they lost power over the long period of inactivity (or the door opening golems required a soul to operate for security reasons), I doubt there was such issues securing "fuel" when Drang was at it's prime and studies of souls was widespread.

Yeah, that's what got me thinking on the whole thing - Vendrick really focused on building his army up, that point is driven into you time and again during the game with the item descriptions etc. He's pretty much a Chosen Undead who took the Dark Lord end and then made himself a big ass army, I dig it. Iron King could survive for a while. I guess they must have the best equipement. However, it seems he has a lack of troops, and as such would've lost greatly against Drangleic (remeber kids, quantity > quality), and his Alonne Knights just can't hold on to the knights of Lordran (but I'm sure the Captains and Sir Alonne would do some heroic deeds in the battle.) Sunken has some fine knights, but his army is small, pretty weak, and let's be honest, he's not a commander or badass. Ivory probably wouldn't participate, but I'm sure he could organise something if he wanted to. I mean, his bossfight is one of the closest times in Souls we got to fight armies. After Vendrick I think he has the best strategic mind.

What I think? I'd think that if you tossed everyone at once in a battlefield suddenly like "Pop" the army with most organized army would win. Boletaria would just crumble there, they are mostly demons, each for himself, poof. Lothric is still young, he wouldn't be able to grip his army together as much as Vendrick and Gwyn would. Then the two great ones. Gwyn's army has no fodder, only simple and pure elite, but that translates into a smaller army. They would focus fast and make a stand with no chaos involved however. Now, the Drangleic's forces might be a little confused at first but not for long at all, they have plenty generals to look up to, even the weaker units, they have Drummond and probably other nameless generals like him. Now the kicker, Vendrick's army would be bigger than Gwyn's and more diverse, an organized charge would do it I believe. Unless they get murdered halfway by the lightning spears, but at the start Lothric and Allant are still there to distract.
@SilverMont
@SilverMont 7 лет назад
Yeah, if every army suddenly just popped into existence in a big ass battlefield, you've got a good point about Boletaria - it would be so chaotic that they would probably cause a lot of destruction but get isolated and wiped out immediately. Drangleic has a good number of commanders, infantry, cavalry and archers. That much versatility would really count for a lot, I believe. Gwyn's army is pretty much all infantry, from what we know of. Although I think maybe we can include the Ringed Knights as well - from a versatility perspective, they don't really add anything, but they are effectively even more Silver Knight style "elite" combatants. And with Lothric it really depends how many dragon riders they have and what sort of dragons they are riding. Because flying dragons are the best sort of heavy cavalry. But if they are weaker dragons, then the great archers wouldn't really struggle too much with them. Gwyn's army in particular is specialised against fighting dragons in the same sense that Vendrick's specialised in fighting giants. Both had a lot of difficulty fighting them (presumably from their foes sheer power/size) but that was their specialty, all the same.
@goncalocarneiro3043
@goncalocarneiro3043 7 лет назад
Silver Mont UHH! An important point, Silver Mont, bias. Wouldn't you say that upon seeing Lothric's dragons the whole army of Gwyn would aggro it's attention towards them? That would spell "doom" for Lothric but "opportunity" to everyone else.
@SilverMont
@SilverMont 7 лет назад
Depends. Maybe the Silver Knights would bum rush the dragons and the Black Knights would bum rush the demons of Boletaria. Orrr maybe they'd bum rush Vendrick's forces 'cos Gwyn hates hoomans.

In this situation I think that Gwyn would win. In a battle/war with many different factions higher officer autonomy would be more usefull, and to me Gwyn would be more likely to fight and leave his four knight to their own task and they would be more capable at it; where as Vendric seams more centralized, a cornerstone, as oppose to the spire like Gwyn. Aswell in a large scale conflict like this the battle would be unpredictable and chaotic; which Gwyn fighting the dragons is more accustom too.

It all comes down to something not covered in the video. Drangliec would win, simply because of Throne Watcher and Throne Defender. I know it sounds weird, to base my entire basis off of those two annoying bosses, but what makes them annoying is what makes them victorious. The ability to revive eachother, and presumably others, makes them invaluable, and is an ability none of the other kingdoms have shown to have, short of Lothric reviving his brother with his magic.

Please, stop spamming comments about the infinitely respawn. In this context, this element of gameplay is not taken into account, because, seriously, if you take into account this element of the mechanics of the game, Drungleic will immediately be knocked out of the battlefield. The rest of the kingdoms will simply endlessly fight without any result (I apologize if there are errors. I'm writing with google translator,)

I haven’t seen ANYONE else mention the looking glass night and his insane protection, durability, magics, and shield, and ability his ability to conjure seemingly infinite summons of humanity like you said. Which a lot of Anor Alonso would be inherently weak to. Mirror Knight is weak to lightning if I remember correctly, but his insane shield and fellow knights and soldiers on the field would be more than enough to outweigh that weakness.

One thing about Lorian that needs to be considered is that now that the second DLC is out, we get to see just how powerful he must have been at full strength, to be able to take out the Demon Prince without apparently even being Undead (and consider, _we_ only fight that thing when its faded flame is incarnated in one of its followers!). ...Man, I would love to watch a four-way throwdown between Biorr, Ornstein, Raime, and Lorian, though.

Yeah, if you include them, they get Ringed Knights - who are kinda like Silver Knights. On the other hand, if they had a choice, I wonder if they'd fight alongside Gwyn? Some might prefer to join with Lothric or Vendrick - the latter in particular has a vested interest in helping humanity as a whole. Lothric is just a lazy ass who doesn't seem to care.

The victory would go to Anor Londo if we are talking about a lore perspective of each kingdom in their prime. With an army of giants, highly skilled knights, a hyper intelligent dragon, and literal gods there would be no way any of the other kingdoms would stand a chance. If we include the Nameless King whom was literally regarded as a god of war, this battle would be onesided. One does not gain the title of a god of war without first proving themselves in combat and strategy.
@SilverMont

Whilst that's a good point, we also have a "god of flame" in a setting wherein flame is a big dealio. But so far as we know, Flann never did anything noteworthy enough to warrant a mention, outside of marrying Gwynevere. Whilst I agree that Anor Londo definitely looks like the most powerful in many cases, given their status, I also think a lot of that was exaggeration - look at how we find Anor Londo in game, it's an empty shell. Gwyndolin is trying to maintain the illusion that the gods are hot shit but in actuality they couldn't do anything. And according to Dark Souls III they even needed the help of early men to defeat the dragons. We can't deny that they are powerful, as we fight Nameless King and see for ourselves how good he is, but then there's shit like Artorias which is quite representative of the gods as a whole in Dark Souls, I feel. Taking the credit for something a human did: The legend of Artorias largely applies to the Chosen Undead, seeing as we're the one who slapped Manus. Artorias/the gods just can't deal with the dark, at all. Makes you wonder how much of it is propaganda. That's my thinking, at any rate. Gwyn's side seems to try and give the impression that they are super badass and powerful when in actuality they were pretty incompetent, ultimately. Vendrick was the opposite. He talks about how big of a fuck-up he is, but he got quite a lot of shit done in the end.

With the release of the final Dark Souls 3 DLC it is revealed that Gym used the primal human ringed knights in his ranks as also the slave knights serving as foot soldiers I assume since Gym despised the dark humans. Also there's Havel and his knights which could easily function as living tanks. I haven't finished the Drangleic part of the video yet but considering that all these troops were fighting against the real deal Immortal Stone Dragons I would say it's safe to assume that they would make quick work of Vendrick's royal Drake riders, which were his most elite warriors. We've all seen the wall full of Drake heads in Anor Londo.

Yeah, I think the main thing to take away from Ringed City would be Midir - not that the Ringed Knights are a push over, it's just that fundamentally speaking they are similar to Silver Knights. Gotta also think about versatility, because cavalry is very important in warfare.

Ringed Knights were probably stronger than the Silver Knights, remember that Gwyn and the other gods had to seal their weapons, armor, and their bodies to keep the darkness in check. In fact, I would say the double Great Sword Wielding Ringed Knight is stronger than a Black Knight.

I love this Idea and this video, you should do more "playground battles". In a one on one, who beats everyone the most situation id place my money on Vendrick. Lothric lacks any leadership or command so there right out, leaving the question of who is better between Gwyn and Vendric. Here is the deciding thing for me though. The fact that Gwyn has no actual battlefield experience. Yes he waged a war on the dragons. But war with dragons is more like a hunt compared to war with full army's and troops and formations and castles on both sides. Vendrick on the other hand came to where he is by winning a countless amount of battles agenst people, employing full largescale tactics. So In short Gwyn would lack the experience that Vendric has.

I don't think you give Vendrick enough credit (even tho you give him a lot) Like the Chosen Undead and Bearer of the Curse, Vendrick slayed the 4 great ones (i.e. the same four great souls from Dark Souls 1), which would mean he is capable of slaying the old gods of Anor Londo. Plus he does shoot a 'dark orb' style attack that curses you and does heavy damage in his hollow state meaning he did probably know a good bit of dark/hex magic.

Very good vid! I agree with your overall conclusions, though I would like to add a thing or two: If we're going to throw in Aldia on Vendrick's side, Aldia can *create* an ancient dragon that puts all the Wyverns of Lothric to shame in both defensive power and damage output. And he could, theoratically, mass produce them so long as he has the means to construct the body and a giant's soul to power it. In a 'what if' scenario with both countries going all out in their prima, Drangleic would absolutely dominate the sky, and via it's massive and (going by how many kingdoms Vendric conquered) very experienced army, Lothric would get steamrolled from a pure force perspective. I feel that the match-up between Boletaria would go much the same: both in terms of General's and in raw power and experience, Drangleic steamrolls it. That leaves Anor Londo. Now, while drakes and dragons might all be well and good, Silver Knights more than even the odds there. Here, it would come down to a battle of generals. From a strategic perspective, Vendrick wins. He is used to conquering kingdoms of men, kingdoms with armies and generals. Gwyn has experience fighting dragons for sure, making Drangleic's air-force obsolete, but in terms of basic strategy against large bodies of soldiers, they come up empty. This greatly tips the scale in Vendricks favor, especially considering how much more versatile and potentially larger his army is. In a general vs general setting, I agree with you that Gwyn's knights and Vendricks (including Nashandra and the Mirror knight for extra muscle) might be matched. Might be. Again, Vendrick's knights have experience fighting people like Gwyn's knights, while Gwyn's strongest knights are best known for their dragon slaying. Again the experience edge and the Dark in Nashandra and Velstadt (and eventually in Raime too) would tip the balance completely. And then there's Gwyn and Vendrick. From a purely gameplay perspective, Vendrick wins. His defense is worn down by Giant souls because their 'rage' makes you hit harder against him, due to their shared history. Gwyn will probably not have this luxury. Even when hollowed, Vendrick has a backstep that can clear a room and with a casual with can oneshot a player. Now imagine if you will, him in full armor (more defense!), with all his faculties and strength (making him both faster and lot more cunning) and THEN stack his potential for Dark. In terms of lore, Gwyn has the more powerful soul. But if there's anything the chosen nundead, bearer of the curse and the ashen one show, its that a powerfull soul can be beated by a weaker one. All in all, I think Drangleic easily wins out.

Playing the return to drangleic event and this vid was a perfect companion. Despite all of the hate it gets, DS2 has some of the most sacked odds against the player, from a lore perspective, not gameplay. I consider it one of the more "dangerous" souls gauntlets the player character faces in this franchise. I absolutely love some of the takes on this subject you and others in these comments have. Vendrick's accomplishments should be noticed. I love how this is essentially a canonical "dark ending" and Ven is just a powerful chosen undead. Also he has Aldia on his side too. Also, despite how dangerous it is... There is also Navlaan. For a character to be referred to as a Royal sorcerer, I could see him being a threat

Hey this actually reminds me. At one point I had the idea in my mind about a Souls Game, before all the souls game. As in it will be set in the Dark Souls universe, but no before the undead and before the world gets screwed. So it would be like other fantasy games and you can create a character and class in any kingdom you want. So for example you can start off as a Low-Ranked Knight of Astora, and travel around the lands and fight other kingdoms. Astora Knights vs Berenike Knights. Balder Knights vs Forossa Lion Knights. Something like the Berserk Golden Age Arc, but with the human Kingdoms. Because let me tell you, right now I am playing with a Low-Ranked Knight of Astora build for DS1 and I was imagining how the human warriors would have fought each other. Large scale battles of Human Warriors of different kingdoms and classes and things dukeing it out in big open fields. It would be cool

I feel as though really it's only a battle between Drang and Londo, The others we don't know enough about, and what we do know, wouldn't be able to handle either. That said, I disagree, I believe that Anor Londo's knights are all more powerful than at least the average knights to syians Not including the black knights, and you also have to remember the knights you are fighting, are husks, phantoms even, No where near their prime, The black knights not even having bodies anymore and the silver knights being illusions. I imagine the black knights could at least take on the Dragon riders, which are definitely Vendricks most powerful forces, and from what we can tell, gamewise, there definitely seemed to be a larger amount of them. I imagine we can also add the Iron Golem to the list of Anor Londo's forces as well, As it is quite apparent they made it for a challenge to either get into Londo, or become a silver knight. But even if we don't, The Sentinels could probably b eat the Mastodons, for the sake of their miracles, While Drang also has massive army, probably bigger in scale...They would lose a HUGE chunk before they even got close to Londo's forces, just for the sake of Lightning spears, which it shows in the intro that Every knight can throw them, That's not including the fact, that they also have the biggest bows. They have Gough's archers, They Havel's, well havel knights which you forgot to mention, Which are very powerful against, basically anything. Then the fact that Gwyn still had a soul at least on par with other lord souls, after tearing his own apart and giving it to his family and knights, Finally he is burned to a husk, It truly shows he has no equal. Artorias we fight weakened as well, and he had Sif helping him, who with both of them, could probably swiftly take out either Raime or Velstadt, That said neither are weak by any means, But Arty also had his massive great shield we never see him use, and also the silver pedant which is perfect for fighting the dark. Then you have Smough who if with Ornstein, well it's obvious tthey are a powerful pair. Even alone, Smough is a force to be reckoned with, He would probably lose to those such as the Vendricks hands, though fighting the Defender? I think he could come on top or at least equal. Though Vendrick also has the Twisted sentries, They are much like demons and aren't shown to be too much more powerful than, which Gwyn didn't even need his whole army to fight, which is shown by the fact, that not ALL of his knights were charred black. So black knights could handle them even if not alone. Then we add Nameless and Gywndolin in the mix, which I think you are undermining, Certainly, if you get close to him, you can easily destroy him... but do you remember how difficult it was to do so? And I doubt he'd be on the front lines either, He may even have his brother defend him, or at least a set of knights. Where he could reign down magic, and even if he uses illusions, The sentinels and Silver knights we fight in anor Londo, and possibly even Ornstein, are all Illusions. And they kicked our sorry asses quite brutally for a while. So his illusions themselves could add a large amount of extra forces to the army. Nameless himself is probably more powerful than anyone else on the field than Gwyn, and we know Gwynevere had quite a few handmaidens with powerful healing miracles as well, which could also assist I imagine if it was an all out war. That's not including batwing demons, and the Giants who could take on the golems quite well that Vendrick had, and give Gywn powerful air support, And don't forget the Gargoyals either who would help greatly. That's not adding Seath, and all his monstrosities. Even with Nashandra, She's only a part of Manus, and a tiny one at that, Who is probably not a complete curbstomp on Gwyn either, just for the fact of how overpowered he is before we fight him and the fact, that Manus is one of the few bosses we fight at peak strength oddly enough, and beat him. So it's debatable who would win there. Putting that all into consideration. I imagine at least, Gywns silver knights would handle a good chunk of the forces before they arrive, Having a mixture of powerful illusions from Gwyndolin, Havels knights, and Silver knights take on the majority of the forces, Giants could handle the golems, and batwing demons and gargoyals would barrage them from the skies, keeping many of the dragon riders busy trying to shoot them down. The Sentinals would fight and narrowly defeat the mastodon knights, most because of the ability to heal, and use wrath of the gods, while being otherwise equal to them. Black knights would handle The Flexile Sentries, while also fighting the dragon riders, where I think numbers alone would allow them to be victorious, with the Lords blades perhaps assisting them. Artorias and Sif would defeat Raime I believe , Together I don't believe that can be argued, I see Velstadt doing major damage to Ornstein, perhaps even killing a couple, But I believe with the help of Cirian, and Gough, That again, He would fall just from sheer numbers, Smough and Havel himself could take on the throne defender and watcher, Probably succeeding, But even if, IF they don't, odds are the others fights would be over and they could finish them off. The Duo of Nameless and Gwyn, I believe could very well Kill nashandra and Vendrick, For reasons I stated before, But even if the damage weakness mattered greatly, Only nashandra can do dark damage, And once Vendrick fell to Gwyn, Even She wouldn't be able to handle both him and the firstborn, and that's just considering Gwyndolin is focusing on the army with his magic, and not shooting them from afar, safe and sound, and not shooting the two of them with his magic and arrows, which he has shown both can do good damage. All in all I believe Anor Londo would win, Once the generals of Drang were defeated, The overwhelming power of Anor Londo's Gods would give them victory for sure, even if they didn't win alone. That's not including Seath, or The Blacksmith God, or any other of the pantheon that is hinted at within the game, Or the four kings and New Londo. Vendrick has an Incredible Kingdom that is for sure, But let's be honest, Who would win, A Great Kingdom, Or a Kingdom of the Gods. That's just my opinion though, and I could of overlooked a couple of things, but even still, I believe the outcome would be the same.

I'm talking about the Kingdoms in their prime. True I forgot about the Glass knight, But he can only summon one at a time, and there is nothing said to believe he could make more. And while the Looking glass knight is powerful, I doubt his presence alone could turn the tide. Especially since his magic is Lightning, which we all know wouldn't effect any of gwyns forces very well. The Ruin sentinels Do make a difference though, that is true. But again, I doubt their forces alone would cause victory, As they may do very well against the knights they fight head on, Silver knights at least, Any range(Which you can't argue Londo beats Drang by far in their ranged combat) Would obliterate them quickly. Or if they fought any black or havel knights. Aren't Alonne knights only for the Iron king? and if we include allies, then we could very well Include seath and the other lords and then it would just be a massacre.

The Ringed City Knights were part of the dragon hunts, Midir also served the gods and the statue in the DLC implies the Ringed City was feudally idented to Gwyn, since the pigmy that would become king does not stand as Gwyn's equal, his power was given by Gwyn and can be taken away by him, so its safe to assume they are under his command. Just look at the church of Filianoire, the ringed knights statues are bowing down to uphold the king's decree. So if we add all the troops in the city, judicators and summons included, to Anor Londo's armies, they could possibly conquer Dragnleic with astounding ease.

Great video as always man, i especially love these discussion types! Although i'll have to disagree with the final verdict on Dranglaic and Anor Londo. The Silver and Black knights all fought a war against Everlasting Dragons, this is an everlasting testament to the Four Knight's & Gwyn's leadership skills! It would take more than just throwing out orders left and right to lead an army of lesser beings in a war against those who are considered truly immortal great beings of destruction and to have such undying faith and conviction resonating from these knights really tells us something.This comes hand in hand with the fact that precise timing, accuracy and synchronized teamwork coupled with fast paced action would at all times be required against such foes and that's not accounting for times in which a unpredictable sequence of events would surely occur and strategies would have no time to be slowly constructed but instead instant and deadly. In this statement i'm just looking at the important factor of morale in a war/battle that we've seen do wondrous things before in history and films like LOTR/Hobbit, the knights would carry immense fear of the dragons at first sight because of the comparison between themselves and the winged creature but under the command of Ornstein, Artorias, Gough, Cirean they became capable of dealing heavy and deadly damage out ensuring eventualvictory. I believe this would outdo Vendrick and his commanders as they're already matched if not beaten by Gwyn and his Four Knights (+ Havel) and armies with fewer numbers than that of an opponent have come through and won the day any times in fiction before plus the Silver/Black knights are way more deadlier than that of the knights/enemies we find in Dranglaic castle. Should it come into play that Gwyn and those who follow him are geniuses as well? Before them, war never existed, strategies never existed, weapons never existed, etc but they created such things and although being the first of any sentient beings in humanoid form they still defeated those who would still topple many kingdoms that have passed and prosper past that of Anor Londo. One again this is a testament to Gwyn and the Four Knight's leadership skills if they were the first to create and utilize such things as spears, swords, bows, miracles, etc and came out on top of enemies so much greater than themselves in ways that they invented themselves. I''m not a fanboy for the first game so much that i'd protect them to any lenghts and actually like Vendrick and his followers very much but i just see the factor of morale and ingenuity residing within the first of centuries worth of kingdoms outdoing that of their successors.

Plus although Velstadt may possess Occult prowess, Artorias traveled into the very Abyss and lost against that who is considered the father of such, that's the magnitude of power that it took to reduce the brave knight to such a level we see him in during the DLC but still he was a force to be reckoned with so i don't see it being an endgame advantage

Nameless King is considered even stronger than Gwyn in the lore I think, so I think he would be stronger the Vendrick and Nashandra is not that strong even though she has a shard of Manus's soul, she feard Vendrick and Vendrick did the same for her, so they are pretty much the same if I think right !!! Anor Londo wins in my mind, they have Artorias who is strong against dark, because he traverses the abyss, loses against Manus just because Manus is too strong, and Nameless King is like the strongest being in this situation so.... The inhabitants of Izalith were nearly all transformed into demons by the Chaos Flame. Perhaps there were Silver Knights present in Izalith at the time, and were transformed into Batwing demons. Still retaining their loyalty to Lord Gwen, they returned to serve in Anor Londo. It is curious and quite telling that Batwing demons use lighting, instead of fire.

I want you guys to let this sink in, Vendrick has the power to instantly curse a person. EDIT: For Vendrick's branch of assassins, they are the manikins and shadows. EDIT2: Do not forget that the Looking Glass Knight is Vendrick's lieutenant. That knight alone is a hard counter against sunlight and lightning attacks. As for Ciaran, can she really be considered an asset? Bosses a mechanically immune to backstabs and ripostes in DaS2. So what can she do against Vendrick's knights and higher ups? EDIT3: From Vendrick's lore, he possess Fire as his power. And If I recall, Gwyn is weak to this Fire mechanically since its what put him in this fragile state.

I did forget the Mirror Man. The manikins though? I don't think they are associated directly with Vendrick, but the suspicious shadows sort of are - they come from Mirrah but were hired by Vendrick. I decided against including direct mercs, but yeah you can include Vengarl as well with that. Vendrick hired quite a lot of mercs.

I have to say this, I say Anor Londo. I assume this is our dark souls 3 pre dlc video. But Gwyn had the Ringed city knights as well. the pygmy kings allied themselves with Anor Londo. Then there's the two powerful dragons in Anor Londos service. Darkeater Midir and Seith the pale drake. Plus yes the giants allied with Anor Londo. if you think about it Gwyn has the biggest army just on the amount of people who see him as a God.

Understanding of kingdoms is an important focus. Though mainly in respect to lore. The Undead Northern Asylum for example. What kingdom is it in? Carim? Astora? The lands were significant enough to be emulated in the Painted World. A rendition of a bygone time for the Asylum, heavily laced with references to Velka... I could go on and on

Hmm, well, if black knights are included I feel like Gwyn's army would win because black knights are very strong although Vendrick's Iron golems are very strong too. Also, I believe the Queen of Lothric was Gwynevere so her healing powers could possibly help the kingdom of Lothric. Drangleic has powerful sorcerers like Aldia so that should be interesting to see along with the strong dragonriders. Not to mention Raime and Veldstadt. The four knights of Gwyn are strong as well. Finally, we have Prince Lorian who killed the demon prince and Prince Lothric who has very powerful magical abilities. Also, I think people forgot that Gwyn had the help of The witch of Izalith and her daughters, Nito, Seath, and finally the Ringed Knights who were early humans.
@asangheili5182
@asangheili5182 5 лет назад
I know I'm really late, but if Gwynevere is the Queen, then Lothric may just be another part of Gwyn's army, I've no doubt that Gwynevere would even think of fighting her father. Oceiros is obsessed with Seath too, so if the chance to meet and learn form him, I feel he would definitely follow Gwynevere for his own goals.

Vendrick is not 'weak' to giant souls. He slaughtered all the giants, using their souls to increase his power, making him stronger than all the other rulers by an exponential amount. The giant souls we collect bring us closer to his level, allowing us to harm him, in his weak hollowed husk.
@SilverMont
@SilverMont 7 лет назад
Hmm... I dunno 'bout that - we don't get more powerful in any way, it only reduces the defence modifier that Vendrick has, and I think the description of the soul sort of backs that up: "Will the Giants' resentment of the King be pacified in death, or only emboldened?" I think the implication is they hate him so much that bringing their souls close to him weakens him. Elsewise, we should be doing like x32 damage to all enemies, right?

Drangleic has a few magical fighters. Right before you enter Vendrick's tomb you'll have to fight the ghost sorcerers and the pyromancers not to mention it seems they can be revived via the bell that annoying as fuck Hollow keeps ringing. So all Drangleic would have to do is keep sending out sorcerers and pyromancers with the troops, and if they die, just keep smacking the bell.

Would the Amana Sorceresses be considered part of Drangleic's army? I guess not, since they only attack us to defend their Shrine, but if they ever decided to join Drangleic's forces their homing soul arrows would make them powerful snipers. I don't remember this being mentioned in the video, but both Seath and Vendrick have the power to create and control golems, which could be a huge plus to both sides. Edit: also, remember that Vendrick is an Undead, which also gives him a big advantage in battle because he's technically immortal.

Well... To put in a strategic view point, I think that Lothric wins the fight. They have three, 4 if you want to count the hunters, pillars of their Kingdom. The Knights, armed with swords, greatswords, long spears, and crossbows although the crossbow knights were cut (they're in the concept art though) they actually have a more organized military than Anor, Drang, or Bolletaria. Then they have Scholars, of which Pontiff Sulyvahn might implied to be Lothric's teacher, forcing him away from the fire. The scholars went mad, much like Seath, but they still retained enough of themselves to learn even more, to the point of cursing the tomes around them so that only they could read them. Imagine trying to storm Lothric but they gate is locked by these curse-giving spectral hands. Then we have the High Priestess and the other clergymen. The High Priestess, Emma, enchanted Lothric's platinum sword with a strong potent magic, making it a powerful weapon off the bat. (Despite gameplay wise it's almost never used) Then their are the clerics who run around and heal and buff the Knights and maybe the Scholars too, given that their are attack spells for sorcery and miracles. Given that the scholars can make and produce these hands, they can go and invade Anor or Drang and leave nothing to guard the city. Although they can come from above. Get the winged knights, keep them as a vanguard of sorts.

I love this video. I think it would be a very close call between Anor Londo and Drangleic. Anor Londo has a pantheon of gods with legendary warriors at their command. Drangleic has a mighthy military force led by a lord slayer with a thirst for conquest. I would put both leaders in their prime, but exclude Nashandra and the Nameless King. I've got a beautiful setting for this battle, so I wrote up a story. It is a long read, but if you don't mind that here it goes. Vendrick plans to invade Anor Londo and lay claim to the city of gods. Aldia must have told his brother about the forgotten legends of old. Thus Vendrick gathers his troops and sets sail for the ancient land of Lordran. Sen's Fortress is great at holding back lowly undead, but it can't stop an army. Drangleic is known for their siege weaponry, so they force their way in. The giants and the Iron Golem are easily taken out by mounted Dragon Riders. Gwyn is made aware of this invading army and gathers his troops to mount a defense. Silver knights line up on the castle wall and rain down great arrows upon their foes. Vendrick is well versed in military tactics and uses the dragons to transport his troops. Iron clad turtle knights are dropped in behind enemy lines, like bombs from a plane. As Vendricks forces are pooling into Anor Londo the silver knights fall back. On the great bridge Drangleic's army is ambushed by Gargoyles and bat demons. Dragon riders are falling from the sky while silver knights clash with the royal guard. Amidst the fighting Vendrick and his generals reach the steps of the cathedral. Gwyn is not taking chances any more and dispatches his four knights. The grand door opens and Ornstein charges ahead clashing with Velstadt. Artorias and Raime lock swords, which must be a sight to behold. Cairan protects Gough from the throne duo while he kills the last dragon riders. It might already be too late though because the Drangleic forces are everywhere. Aldia leads his division to the archives in an attempt to steal Seath's immortality. Gwyndolin's chambers are being swarmed by hordes of soldiers and knights. This has gone far enough, as Vendrick enters the sanctuary Gwyn alone awaits him. Here Vendrick the lord slayer faces Gwyn the lord of sunlight in all of his glory. We have seen what his eldest son was capable of after being hollow for ages. One can only imagine the magnificence of Gwyn's full power. The cathedral of Anor Londo crumbles as these two titans clash. Lightning tears through the stonework as Gwyn shows why he is considered a god. Vendrick, however powerful himself cannot match a deity of this caliber. Just as Gwyn moves in to deliver the final blow he gets blocked by the Mirror Knight. Silence falls and Gwyn realizes what has happened. He glances through the main hall and sees the enemy soldiers pouring in. His faithful knights and executioner have fallen in battle. Anor Londo lies in ruin and all but one of his children have been slain. Enraged Gwyn lashes out in a flurry of lightning, killing anyone who gets too close. Vendrick's troops march into battle, most of them dying at the hands of Gwyn. Though even a god has his limits and in time he is completely surrounded. When the lightning subsides and Gwyn is brought to his knees. Vendrick claims his soul. Conclusion: Gwyn would beat Vendrick in a Duel. (Given both are in their prime.) But when it comes to a war Drangleic has a much bigger and more versatile army. I chose the scenario based on their personalities, to make it somewhat believable. Gwyn is only interested in his own kingdom and preserving the status quo. Vendrick built a massive army to conquer other lands. I don't think Gwyn would care about Drangleic, let alone perceive them as a threat While Gwyn in his prime might be one of the most powerful beings in the series, this kind of power also comes with a certain hubris. Because he is so powerful his army is lacking in places, such as siege weaponry. Also Vendrick wasn't granted his power, he earned it through hardship and warfare. So yeah as far as souls kingdoms go I also think Drangleic is the strongest faction. Thanks Silver Mont this was such a fun and interesting idea to tackle.
@taitkellogg4944
@taitkellogg4944 6 лет назад
I would say Anor Londo takes the win. Sure we can assume that the larger army belongs to drangleic as that is what the kingdom was built on, but Anor Londo has the four knights plus the Bishop Havel with his knights clad in stone. Based off of who Havel was, any magic the kingdoms threw at them they’d still stand strong. Making the assumption that each was a knight of faith, they would have a grasp of at least the weaker forms of lighting miracles. With the nameless king in Alonso’s army it wouldn’t be much of a contest. Lothric’s flying knights would crumble and the army would shatter from the onslaught of the horde of Drangleic, Boletaria, and Londo. Boletaria would fail against the black knights whose strength in battle labels them elite forces. Should Seathe lend his research then his crystal skeletons would form up as quite effective fodder for Drangleic’s massive force. Plus the illusions that were cast by Gwyndolin held actual weight behind them, as the sentinels were illusions at the time the chosen undead roamed. An almost limitless army could have been conjured up to destroy the others at the height of Anor Londo’s power. In my mind there would have been little contest as the lords(What I call gwyn’s race over gods) would have held the power.

I'd give it to Lordran... If Gwyn as well as his knights are hurling Sunlight Spears, then who'd stand a chance? In each game that the Sunlight Spear exsists, it one-shots every enemy. Assuming the Silver Knights have high faith, which they'd have to to even use the miracle, then they would kill every single opponent before they even reach them. The only thing that would stand a chance are the Mastodon knights from Drangleic. Their great shields have ~90 lightning defence.

@quentinhoward99

For me, what settled it was the dragon riders of Vendrick, if you read their item descriptions it says that they toppled the previous kingdom almost single-handedly, and they were created by basically being stuck in an arena with a wyrm for years until they tamed it via complete brute force, then there is the fact that that they used more than one type of weapon(twin-blade), which means they were practically ninjas on top of that, their weapons are half magic so that implies great intelligence overall and the possibility that they knew spells too. They didn't use lightning which implies that dragons came pretty easy to them. They also use great-bows. They are covered in what looks like half a ton of metal. They swing that halberd around like it's a toothpick, and have a giant great-shield. On top of all that they have no trouble moving around. The previous kingdom they toppled, which i'm assuming is Olaphis, was almost completely magic based, meaning they would have had to have been basically immune to magic attacks. They also probably fought the knights near Heide's tower of flame, who were their same size, even a little taller. And unlike the knights of other games, there are no tales of their defeats or even any difficulty, They, and i'm quoting here,"crushed the previous kingdom". That being said, they will all probably die of diabetes. I'm not going to say anything about the overpowered looking glass knight. Too strong for his own good.
@SilverMont

The Dragonriders might look silly and be a bit of a push-over as bosses, but as an enemy force? Yeah, they seem pretty strong. Even if it was more like raptors they were riding, than actual dragons, judging fron the concept art.

Easy, Drangleic. They can just create the poison that can literally kill people in seconds, a King that can delete the bearer of the curses health while hollow(what happens when he's not), they have an alliance with 2 kingdoms, they have an ancient dragon and lots of other dragons, they have a kamehameha shooting giant spider and a queen that can curse people.

I don't know anything about such things, but I feel like it'd be crazy hard to implement. The best way I can think of would be to replace textures models whilst using existing data. Example? Re-skin one of the Abyss Watchers to use Artorias model from DaS1 and tweak his stats. Maybe it'd even be possible to give him that attack Midir uses (you know, the same one Artorias has with the abyss fart) Again, no idea if any of that is even possible, but it would be fun - I've watched some of those videos where people pit bosses/enemies against each other.

There's two aspects of Anor Londo mentioned but then skipped entirely. Havel and his knight-clerics and Seath and his Channelers means that they have an army of healer/fate casters and sorcerers. This doesn't even mean that the victory of Drangleic was impossible. The fact that clerics and sorcerers hate each others as well as the gods seem to think themselves as above everyone else might be their downfall. I just think ignoring this part was a missed opportunity. And one thought on the leaders. The gods are weak to the dark, yes. The other way around though: Nashandra is laughably weak to stuff that even the player can pull of. Gwyn at his prime would lightning her into oblivion.

If we include the dlc, Gwyn has access to the slave knights and the ringed knights. Slave knights would be likely die, but their purpose is to keep fighting and dying until they win or go insane, and even as insane hollows they'd still be a threat. Ringed knights on the other hand are assholes with cheap, but admittedly effective weapons.
@darkzler

I feel like the ringed army would side with humanity, they helped with the dragons and were confined to the city for helping, I have the impression that they hate the "gods" and would never aid anor londo faction a second time after being played by gwyn.
