i kinda love the parts where the camera is freaking out because its supposed to be following a model that isn't there. its like "oh my god!!! SKY BOXES!!!!!!"
I've done them both side by side, it looks like the cutscene used in-game has a LOT less camera shake. as for why it's presented at firelink, who knows.
the last cutscene with crestfallen is pretty interesting! in retrospective you could've assumed SOOO much from the crow monitoring the few chosen ... and obviously looking out for more help, when the previous ones beginning to lose hope / start to hollow. Like "well shit, guess i need another one" xD
that scene explains it, crestafllen failed miserably and the crow seeks for more of us, knowing youre unworthy and a failure, giving it all up might be a choice
I can see why most of these weren't in the game, but some of them were really good. I really liked the solaire one, and the crestfallen warrior watching the crow fly away too.
and i see why the "crow" scene was deleted, cause in that case we can see the crow in the asylum for the first time and its amazing appearance, in other case it doesnt work, if we already would know, that in the game exist this giant crow.
@TheSasGaming or showing that's when the first abyss watchers began after artorias died. And they used his armor at first but then slowly evolved into their ware into the more haunting imagine of the abyss watchers we know today
@@kartoffel128 imagine basing your entire life on the approval of others and not expressing how you truly feel, beholden to the random whims of the herd. Seth, what is it like to live as a mindless gelding?
@@Theboomdoctor How i truly feel... actually i'm pretty open to everything! I would never ever change myself just for the approval of others. Im simply pointing that he was being rude to such an innocent comment and that's why no one thought or felt the same way as him (John Doe). And one more thing, If you based your opinions over me FULLY based on one comment that i made; you seriously need to re-think the way you judge others. Good luck
Yea like wtf. That gesture solaire makes to lautrec would have such insane impact if its origin was from their interaction/this cutscene. I freaking wonder what their original plan for their interaction even was, and what was behind the hidden sliding statue. SO MANY QUESTION, NEVER TO BE ANSWERED Q_Q
@@kubglo7502 Sorry to break it to you but most of the scenes, including the one with "Solaire" and the ones with the quest NPCs, used in this video are actually scenes used in the game's first trailer. You can compare those scenes and the ones in the games first trailer if you want. Since some of the NPC's used in the trailer were deleted in the game, the dude who showcased these "unused" cutscenes rigged the animation skeletons to already existing NPCs. The one doing the "silent resolve" emote is actually the player character who, coincidentally, is dressed as solaire.
Matches the look of the concept art of Andre pushing the statue too from the early version of the story where he had a bigger role in the story along side NPCs like Priscilla.
This makes me sad. Dark Souls is such a masterpiece, but in retrospect, hearing stuff like unused animations, unused cuscenes, Andre had a bigger role... it could have been a much bigger masterpiece...
2:22 If I remember correctly here Andre was supposed to push that statue away and behind it was the stairway that lead to the Kiln of the First Flame but then they came up with Frampt swallowing and spitting the player out instead.
I saw someone else say they likely did that for things to make sense geographically. If the firelink altar opened up to the kiln of the first flame, why cant we see it anywhere? It should be right behind firelink shrine. And the KotFF is open to the sky, so you can't make the argument that it's underground. With the frampt/kaathe cutscenes we travel an unknown distance before at last arriving at the firelink altar
@d I grew up to be a level designer and I still get nostalgic over unused videogame content. So much potential and missed opportunities dictated by budget limitations. I am a creative, I love and respect other people's creativity, be it a passion or what they do for a living. My feelings were valid back then and you're just being a hater on the internet. How interesting can your life be?
Interesting how Solaire and Lautrec seem to share some sort of bond since in the game Solaire is portrayed as a good guy and Lautrec is the opposite. It kinda makes sense to think that when they first made the game, they were teaming up because you can summon both of them at the same time against the Gaping Dragon and it turns out this part of the game is optional, as if it was a bonus or a leftover from the devs. Besides, I think Lautrec had some sort of plan that we never knew of and that he wasn't as bad as the finished game makes you think he is. If the game would be remade I'd like to see more of Lautrec.
The Flaming Pike I actually think he was supposed to be a Sun Bro. He gives you a Sunlight Medal if you help him escape from the prison, the first time you meet him is also the first point where you can summon Solaire, They can both be summoned for the gaping dragon and the cut scene showed them together when they could have used the CrestFallen Knight, the Curse guy (I don't know his name the guy in the red cloak) but they used him! So maybe he was going to be in the Sun Bro covenant.
The cutscene where Solaire is edge walking from Lautrec isn't Solaire. It's the Chosen Undead, the person who made the video is just wearing the sunbro set. Not sure about the other cutscene with Solaire.
If you read the item descriptions for the armor set of Anastasia of Astora it says she seems to have bern killed trying to escape so perhaps Laurtec killed her since she abandoned her duties (can't blame her though with the living conditions she has)
3:29 that must have been the original bonfire placement before fromsoft realized the issue with characters sitting at it on uneven ground. That center circle placement was originally belonging to a pond, which had to be scrapped for use of the bonfire due to this issue.
Some of what you're seeing is trailer footage made using the camera and the game engine to set up cinematic sequences to be used for advertisements. A lot of companies do this. It's strange that it was left on the disc.
That's from the dark souls debut trailer - character models swapped from Oscar (to Solaire), Tarkus (to Luatrec) and firekeeper (to Siegmyer). Some of these cut cutscenes are faked sadly
nah, just would be one of the routes to Anor Londo, i.e. one bell opens a different route that or just an opening to firelink altar, but they scrapped that pretty quickly in favor of what you get in the final game
3 of them are camera angles present in the game: there's the gaping dragon one, the bonfire ending one and the one where the giant opens Sens Fortress' gates.
Why'd they take out so much fucking stuff! I get removing Artorias' lines might've added to suspense. But why Solaire's cut scene or new completed covenants!?
A lot of games have a lot of unused content. Kinda like deleted scenes in movies, they are cut for time reasons or for clarity. Little known fact, but the dlc was intended to be part of the game. Miyazaki spoke about it in a translated interview. It was cut due to time contraints
I think the Solaire scene was intended for Oscar since the scene is used with an elite knight in the trailers and Oscar originally had a bigger role in the game.
In fact, in the Hollow Lullaby trailer for DSII it's used. Oscar or the player wearing the elite knight set replaces Solaire, while Tarkus is in the same place as Lautrec. The next scene is also used.
is the part with camera panning over undead burg, then showing artoriases rising, and then with solaire walking away all the same? I get the impression that this could be unused scenes for the dark age ending, like solair leaves lordran because he's given up looking for the light
these cutscenes were used in the ignite trailer it seems. Weird, questioning if they were rendered in game or something, but eh, we'll never knowww If only remastered looked as good as that trailer.
2:25 That was also in the concept of DS3 at some point. The one that pushes the statue away is Andre. The trip to under firelink shrine was originally behind it.
For the second one, is it a player cut scene or artorias? I like the one with Solaire who seems to say goodbye to Lautrec.. it comforts me on the fact they know each other...
the first cut scene belonged to this cracken like monster that skull is At the bottom of ash lake, or it's the weird cathulu monster that was scrapped either or half of these cut scenes are super cool (note these are speculation, but it makes sense to me)
+MrDibara that wasn't a fight with frampt, that's when the crestfallen night decided to attempt to kill frampt, resulting in him dying and going hollow.
it seems like there should have been a lot more npc interaction... like the game was supposed to be character focused and not setting focused like it is now
I'd like to think that Solaire was trying to convince Lautrec to work with him but he he refused because Lautrec believes everybody is a backstabber like himself.
