4 months ago i started dark soul 2 and put 300+ hours into it before finishing it 100% im about to finish dark souls 1 for the first time tonight, i just have to beat gwyn seeing you do this without raising a single level and hardly getting hit is fucking insane to me how many hours have you put into dark souls 1 total ???
Great run Kahmul ! Now that you know how to do the sen's gate skip, are you going to work on the any% to get back the record CaptainToinon stole you? ^^
Because there is a glitch that allows you to switch weapon movesets so he can use the running attack of the Estoc with the Hammer doing 3 attacks in a row
Capitaine's any% isnt really much improved cause the route he uses is prettyboring even if it's the fastest route, his run can be improved by like a minute and a half. Sl1 any% can get something like sub 45 with a really good run.
Don't get me wrong here, you've got talent.. clearly. You know your way in and out and you're fast. And theres no doubt that while I've sunken over 900 hours into this game, you are definitely better than me. However... I just can't get past the glitches and exploits used to save time and get more damage. You are by far from the first youtuber/twitch streamer who has done this but it's not a record in my eyes if you're essentially cheating. If you go to the ATM and withdraw a 20 but gesture your hand a specific way and you get a $50 but only $20 is taken out of your bank account, then of course it's a hell of a lot easier to pay bills. This is moveswapping. Doing a 30 mile marathon and falling asleep 5 miles in while someone does 24 so you can wake up and do the last 1 mile isn't doing a full marathon, again it's cheating. That is falling through the floor before Sens Gate. I'm sorry I just can't consider that really a world record. Might as well bring up a console window and type -warptogwyn and then stab him with your +50 Claymore R2 attack and call it a world record.
I can understand where you are coming from, but search up speedrun rule set and you'll see that any% speedrun is done by completing the game while utilizing any type of bug, exploit, glitch that was left in the game and never patched out in order to get the fastest time.
Lord Ford There's always 3 or 4 people who say this on every single speedrunning any% video in pretty much every speedrunning game. You'll honestly have to get over "cheating" if you want to watch speedruns, because they're not going away as long as it makes beating the game faster.
Without glitches it would just be a guy doing the game skipping all random mobs and killing a few bosses. Glitches add difficulty and make the task to speedrun overall harder. You can say it makes bosses easier sure but were they hard in the 1st place ?
