@@YannMetalhead yeah once, but still it can't be called NO Resets then. He could've done it later or run out and in area, it would've taken more time but then it would be really true to the title or rename it to '1 Reset'. He still did an amazing run, don't get me wrong but you can't claim you didn't do something at all when actually you did even if only once.
Incredible run! Several things I want to try myself now: using the crystal halberd that way, the gold tracer on the dragon... great work, thx for sharing!
For anyone following this strategy but not speedrunning, ie, actually killing most or all of the enemies you encounter on your journey, you will definitely want to use another weapon other than the Crystal Halberd. By all means equip the Crystal Halberd for boss fights, but use something else as your main weapon for killing the other enemies you come across, otherwise your weapon will break before you get anywhere near the end, and it cannot be repaired. If your luck is anything like mine, you will think you're doing really well and making great progress throughout the game, and then suddenly find yourself punching a buffed up Smough and having just a standard Claymore, Zweihander, Regular Halberd, or Spear, all with no upgrades as your best other options! This is what happened to me on my second playthrough. Obviously I learned my lesson. I've had a few playthroughs now and always find it funny to look back at how much I struggled with it initially and felt insignificant when being just told to 'git gud', but I really do love seeing how far I've come and realising that I have gotten gud... Maybe not quite as good as some players, and I'm still yet to play PvP, but I've completely mastered the parry/riposte and backstab techniques, and I'm more than confident in my ability as a strength or dexterity player to lay waste to anything DS:R will throw my way. i have never played as a mage though. I may try this on my next playthrough as I can imagine it to be an entirely different challenge altogether.
From what I heard from speedrunners, it is much harder to get all the glitches right than playing this game without them. From a viewer perspective I still think it's kind of lame to watch somebody glitch through walls and such really quick.
24:50 Me: watches you go into the boss fight with one tiny sliver of health to fight 2 big bosses. Thinking "you have lost you mind!" 25:30 ok how the hell is that halberd doing so much damage?
Hey man nice run ^_^ Change your title Dark Souls Speedruns DEX All Bosses No bug No Reset 1:29:32 to Dark Souls Speedruns DEX All Bosses No bug No Reset 1:27:32. You put 2 extra minutes there!!!
Most leaderboards for ds1 speed runs rank based on igt so it make more sense to advertise the igt, or at least specify that the advertised time is rta.
@@Gab0ME but that crystal halberd has 20/20 and you can't repair it... Or can you? :o because he keeps using it several times and I think all the use he put the weapon through should've broken it.
@@_rafa_-lp8vc I know this is late but I think it’s to do with reinforcing. You can’t repair a crystal halberd traditionally but whenever you reinforce a weapon it usually resets the durability back to max. I think he tactically reinforces the halberd at oolacile township to repair it
How did you go from 5 estus flasks before using the homeward bone near firelink shrine to having 10 after? I didnt see you kindle the fire. Not calling you out or anything, just genuinely curious.
One thing I don’t understand is why, after killing Nito, do you run all the way from Firelink to Demon Ruins. Wouldn’t it be faster to light the bonfire behind the illusory wall when you ring the second bell so you can warp to it later?
That is a very common question asked to speedrunners. Unfortunately, no. If you rest at that bonfire after you ring the second bell, you have to climb back up to firelink, which is super slow and then walk up to Sens Fortress. It is much faster to just warp back in the first time and then go downards a second time due to the blighttown drop skip.
Regular enemies hit much harder than bosses. A run like this that goes from boss to boss actually makes the game much easier. You should try it sometime.
Right now I'm doing my first real playthrough so I'm not that familiar with the game. Can someone tell me how the heck is he able to inflict that much damage with the Crystal Halbert, My weapon is stronger in termes of stats and I can't understand why it's seems better than mine.
@@ceddv2669 the crystal halberd doesn't increase it's damage with humanity. It's because crystal weapons already has increased damage than the normal upgrade. He also leveled dex to 40 and the most important thing, the red tearstone ring add 50% damage to any attack when hp is below 20%
