Fun fact: It is actually possible to replicate this in vanilla Dark Souls III. In the Smoldering Lake, Knight Slayer Tsorig can be summoned as a white phantom for the Old Demon King boss fight. At the same time, the real Tsorig awaits the player further inside the area. If one carefully clears out/avoids the enemies it is possible to lure one Tsorig to the other and make them fight each other.
@@JohnDoe-ligma normal version is stronger i believe. Because i fought his red phantom version and killed him quickly. But human version was challenging
I actually always do this. But I bring Cuculus as well. They definitely have the same AI (unlike some npcs) but the real one must have like 30% more hp or something because I have to Intervene or my phantom dies.
@@adan1221 same. i was a sorcerer but i didnt read my little sign on the floor so had no idea how to use it. he taught me how to parry tho and im ever grateful for that
Before NG+ I always use the dark hand to get as much humanity as possible, and I always leave Laurentius alone. He really feels like a friend to the Chosen Undead, moreso than any other character
@@eloelo6944 I go Burg > Parish > Depths to get Laurentius and the Ember, then I go Firelink > New Loneo > Valley of the Drakes > Blighttown to ring the other bell, then I either kill Ingward or go after the Lordvessel, depending on when I want that next ember
@@thefreebooter8816 student to one of the most powerful sorcerers in the land and the best thing he can come up with is soul peashooter and using a fucking dagger an a broken shield. if theres anyone who deserves going hollow is griggs.
Vince of Thorolund: "I'll lose to anyone, even me!" Nico of Thorolund: Who? Griggs: (Choking noises) Logan: "I may have killed me, but at least I killed myself back!" Crestfallen Warrior: (parry sound) "Oh dear, how could you let THAT happen?" Laurentius: "Stay safe, friend, and don't you dare go Hollow." Solaire: "A Sun may make you stronger, but it won't make you better." (Fixed typo) Mildred: "Maybe being on the good side isn't so bad... At least I get some spicy spider meat!" Leeroy: (Mutual THUD noise)
solaire fight was poetic being alone made the fight greatly unfair, he couldnt make a dent at his madness. but being together (being summoned) gives him the strenght to overcome his weakness
(And also because he's supposed to be summoned in the two toughest (without dlc) boss fights, and it makes sense he becomes stronger when embracing the light of madness)
4:52 Hollowed Laurentius is so far gone, he goes to use his axe for pyromancies. Maybe he found Quelana who showed him some fire sorcery and he mistook his axe for a catalyst in his madness...?
...I remembered that Laurentius can't find Quelana cuz she have the spell which made everyone who don't have an upto lv10 Pyromancy Flame cannot seen her and...maybe he doesn't have it:))
@@milodelia838 nah, I don't think so. Creatures which was been reincarnated by Undead Rapport only attack who the user thinks that they are enemies. And if you know, the lasting time of skill are also applies to NPCs too:))
@@tempestkana6506 I’m going to elaborate on what I said, I think that laurentius goes to find quelana after we (he and the chosen undead) obtain equal talent in n puromancy from him. Eventually he does find her, and I think he catches her off guard when she isn’t invisible and she uses undead rapport on him. I believe that rapport basically turns the target into a complacent slave that does whatever you want for the duration of the spell and that they only attack baddies for gameplay reasons. When she used rapport I think she had him forget he ever saw her and then went invisible. By the time the spell wore off I think laurentius kept looking and eventually went hollow in his searching and that’s how we find him. I do like the fire sorcery theory though, it suggests that hollows do have some semblance of memory of what happened when they were human. But that begs the question: which came first fire or soul sorcery?
Leeroy fight went exactly like every strenght build goes in this game, and the way he look at the camera at the end as if saying "what did you expect?"
@@alexidu25 I think I've done it before on a mage build. Like maybe if I tried swapping between my melee weapon and my catalyst somehow the catalyst casting animation would activate while my melee weapon was still in my hand. Maybe i'm remembering that wrong though.
I mean technically you skipped Rhea, who has a living version and the hollow version from the Archive Tower, but given that Hollow Rhea only punches and hits like a whoopee cushion tied to a kitten, and Living Rhea has no self-preservation instinct at all, it'd probably be a very long, boring 'fight'.
If I was feeling particularly philosophical I would say this is symbolic of the internal struggle that goes on every day in an undeads mind, but I’m not so I’ll just sit here and w00t at the pixel men fighting for my amusement.
Vince of Thorolund truly loses against anything even himself, but that self wasn't exactly the same as Vince , hence that one actually having the ability to win
This is basically what happens on the mind of an Undead close to becoming a hollow, they fight with the Hollowed version of themselves... and if they end up losing....
Conclusion: hollowed and mad versions of NPCs are more aggressive but more impulsive. They also can seem more powerful due to this, but that isn't the case. They simply are more likely to attack. DS1 invader NPCs are also useless
You know... There's just something poetic about these fights. Vince and Nico both succumbed to the undead curse, and such they both get defeated by their hollow counterparts. Griggs also became a hollow, in pursuit of pursuing the knowledge of his master, Logan. But he didn't need to be, he could've remained unhollow, but as in the fight, he left it open for it to destroy him, and thus the curse won. Big Hat Logan went mad with the knowledge of seathe, and it destroyed him completely. Fittingly, in his fight, he could have won over his madness, but his madness took him down with it. In the end, neither he or his madness won. The next three are unique to me. The Crestfallen warrior is interesting. Yes, he hollows, but throughout the game, despite his pessimism, his nihilism, and his doubts, he still wanted to live, and still retained the skills to prove it. He was a man driven by fear and despair, but if backed into a corner, he was willing to fight to the death. And I suppose, that sort of drive trumps the curse of hollowing. But that depends on your choice to abandon him, or be with him. Laurentius is a similar story. Yes he can hollow, but like the crestfallen warrior, it depends on your choice. Only in this instance, Laurentius found a friend in you, someone who he could share pyromancy with, someone who he could care about. And that kind of friendship is what continues to give him purpose to defeat the hollowing curse. For as long as you keep him away from his ambition, he will never hollow. Similar thing for Solaire too. He is your friend, and an ambitious one too. And ultimately, your choices can decide whether he succumbs to hollowing/madness, should you abandon him to his short-sighted whims, or protect him from ambition, as you can with Laurentius and Crestfallen. It's with your friendship, he can overcome the madness/hollowing. And Mildred? ... well... Mildred as a summon is more stronger than as an invader because this was the most generous thing Fromsoft has ever done for anyone in any of their games.
It really was. Sometimes I forget that the Combustion pyromancies actually have decent range (for close quarters combat). It's why it's a great tool for shield-breaking enemies and other players (if they're turtling).
Regular Solaire vs. Mad Solaire... Mad Solaire has the advantage of having had the whole journey behind him. Regular hadn't even set foot past the Hellkite Drake yet.
Can you do another “war” video like when you did “all Irthyll of Boreal Valley enemies vs all Profaned Capital enemies.” (Ex: Demon Ruins vs Dukes Archives; Smoldering Lake vs Lothric Castle)
It's strange to see how much more powerful the summons are than the invaders. In Bloodborne for example, the summons are considerably weaker than the hostile NPCs (there aren't really NPC invaders in Bloodborne in the same way as DSR, and DS3.)
Hollow Griggs made me lol . Everyone else's hollow looks like a dead version of themselves, but Griggs just looks like he put on way too much black eyeliner....like he's really into bands like Bullet for My Valentine and has stopped taking showers daily .
