DD1: Full of despair. A endless cycle of meaninglessness. DD2: A glimmer of hope. A glimpse for a better tomorrow.

Unlike the first main theme, this sounds TRIUMPHANT, like a determined march to the horizon (the snare drums or whatever those may have been really sold that). It feels a lot more, if not hopeful, then at least least like... they are heroes resigned to their fate of doom, terror, and glory. Love to see more of your work.

Playing Darkest Dungeon without sound is a crime. The narrator is cosmic and the music is godlike.

Horrific eldritch beats to slay cultists and save the world to

Phenomenal. Not as bombastic as the original, or as intimidating/depressing. It has the right mix of heroism and dread.

This track evokes both despair, sadness and futility but gradually builds into something triumphant and inspiring. Much like a journey. Can't wait to hear the rest of the tracks in the game.

The OST was what got me into Darkest Dungeon. Everything from the echoing Cove Battle theme to the synth heavy entirety of The Color of Madness was something that made me value sound and music design. I’m excited to see what else is in store for Darkest Dungeon II and happy to continue supporting you.

Considering the fact that we don't have the Crusader anymore and we still have Dismas, I assume Reynauld sacrificed himself. This is a good theme for that. Thanks for bringing us amazing music, Stuart. You are part of what gives soul to this series.

I can’t wait for this masterpiece

Super excited for the new music. The soundtrack is a huge part of what made the last game so memorable (in addition to the art and the voice acting of course). Will the soundtrack for DD2 be available on streaming platforms (like Spotify and iTunes) later on when the full game releases?

I don't know what to expect anymore. The music conveys less dread than original DD soundtracks and feels so much more heroic, like determination when facing a ruined world and certain death. It feels a bit hopeful, even. Love that work. A bit sad that Black Reliquary for DD is not an official expansion, I'd love to hear a mix of what made darkest dungeon music great with a flair of good old Prince of Persia vibes.

If I have a bad run, I'll go to the main menu for inspiration. Truly powerful and moving work!!

Thank you, Stuart. Thank you. Darkest Dungeon is a game that changed my life in so many ways, and I do not hesitate to call it the greatest video game ever made. When I listen to this song, I hear the journey I have taken from the day DD2 was teased to get here, I hear they journey I will be taking to save the world. I hear the darkness, I hear the fellowship, I hear the tension, I hear the triumph, I hear the moments of reflection between the battles. But perhaps most importantly, I hear a man putting his heart, his soul, and an entire career's worth of skill to bring us a majestic piece, working to create something that could even be better then the beautiful masterpiece that was Darkest Dungeon. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

This masterpiece with the howling sounds of the winds of The Mountain really makes a special touch to the title, really encapsulates the feeling of "a grueling journey that nobody wants to embark, but they have to and be corageous to face it"

I really loved the "Return to the Warrens" Leitmotif you did in the DD2 trailer Sir Stuart. You have such an immaculate mastery in music!

You managed to create a track that's both depressing and uplifting, a brilliant confluence of skill and purpose i'd say. Wonderful job! :D

The music is a huge piece of what makes the series what it is. Thank you for your part in it.

I love the difference with DD1 theme. It was mostly ominous and terrifying. This one, on the other hand, is way more epic and heroic, but also more sad and sorrowful. It praises the heroes' bravery and at the same time mourns their fate. Beautiful.

Listening to this theme is always spine chilling. I get goosebumps every time. The main menu theme of the first game feels foreboding, like a great evil is lurking and just perfectly summarizes the feel of the game. This theme however feels like the heroes have all found redemption and peace and it gives more triumphant feeling like a group of actual by-definition heroes is passing by going on their next adventure to slay a great evil, this time not as outcasts or criminals but as a team of royal soldiers. Its incredible how powerful it feels and how it conveys the development of the characters. Incredible work, this will forever stay among my favorite pieces of music if not my favorite.

Stuart you may not see this, but I want you to know I appreciate all of your work. Your music has singlehandedly put all of my combat encounters in my dnd sessions a notch above what I make them out to be. I love to play Darkest Dungeon to your music and I love to dm combat to your music. My players absolutely love whenever your tracks come on despite never playing DD because of how beautiful and intense your music is and know if it plays, some intense action follows. Thank you for your art.

Stuart. I am very excited. Edit: I was absolutely right to be excited. There’s Hope my dudes.

Although hearing this track all so long ago, now being here listening to it after completing the current state of the game--it really did set the tone for this game overall. It kind of makes me think of one of the best quotes from the first game when a hero hits a virtue, "Many fall in the face of chaos, but not this one. Not today." Honestly, listening over the years, it feels like your work just kept getting better with each new release. Not that the older DD1 tracks were bad by any means, but--how to put it... It's like the music's world building got better and better with each subsequent DLC and the game's second title. It just makes me want to hear more in the future. Thanks for painting the Darkest Dungeon world with your music.

I'm glad that you guys at Red Hook were able to continue working together, I'm looking forward to buying the game and its soundtracks once it releases.

This is a great theme, and really evokes the mood of Darkest Dungeon as a whole. The string instruments evoke this sort of horror and danger, while the drums are constantly trying to keep their beat and march onwards, just like how the heroes are constantly trying to keep going against an overwhelming evil. Superb work.

it feels like at least now, the people once looking for spoils and loot have turned heroes maybe not entirely by choice. nevertheless they accept fate to see it through, valor among the weak turned strong. this is just a beyond gorgeous track

Amazing work, in both main theme you can hear a sort of despair, but while DD1's despair feels like the discovery of a fallen land filled with horrors and sadness, this one gives the atmosphere of knowing already what true terror is, yet they know there are still more to come

love how this also sounds similar to “the inn” theme as well. both are such fantastic pieces of work

This song sounds very triumphet but dark and brooding. These heros are ready for the abyss.

I wished it was coming to Steam. The potential is astounding. Perhaps in a few years maybe. Quite an odd change to the original, but considering that we’re supposedly fighting back against the darkness this time around, opposed to delving into it, it fits rather well. Good to have you back on this, man.
