dont think it's the same but I had once in a game where a zealot was mocking the very idea of ogryns having souls and the veteran responded "oi, you keep that up, it's me you're gonna have to worry about" or something to that effect it was dope
The female French voice once said something about not liking and Zelots much And the vet said they're a bunch of wannabee soldiers that's what they are
Hey Give me a Space Marine Size Killing Machine with the Mind of a 8yr old and I'll be Your Best Friend.......Provided They Protect Me from any Horrors of the Galaxy.
My favorite Veteran/ Ogryn Line so far is: Ogryn: "What does Abhuman mean? Does it mean something bad?" Veteran: "Emperor! Somebody called you that to your karkin face?"
"And that's where they all died, waiting for a bridge...Not very heroic" *Cuts to the Mission failed cutscene* PFFFFFHAHAHAHAHA I love the Loose Cannon Veteran
honestly, I freaking love the female cutthroat. The voice actress really nailed that feeling of somebody who's seen the literal end of the world and is STILL gritty enough to keep fighting.
ogryn : we will be remembered as great heros. [the teams zelot getting ready to insult the ogryn for saying such things] [the rest of the team stopping the zelot so the ogryn be blissfully unaware and happy.]
Considering how i have heard stories of Ogryns that got tricked and realized they were tricked immediately tear apart Traitors, Yeah I think Ogryns are under the Emperor's protection
Psyker: Who's going to have to scrub these horrid scribblings off the walls? They fill my mind with pain! Zealot: Calm yourself, freak. They will leave that job to the servitors. Veteran: There was a bloke in my regiment caught writing snide remarks about our Commissar. Never saw him again after that. Ogryn: Did I show you my drawing of Emperor? Is pretty.
I'm honestly really in love with these more contemporary minded and knowledgeable characters. They're all criminals, right? And thus are not your standard Imperium dick-sleeves that don't question anything (Besides the Zealots and there's more than quite a few hints about them not being as pious as they claim to be.) Plus now they likely have some minor degree of access to inquisitorial archives, and are being expressly trained by the Inquisition. Have to question what Grendyl is on the Radical or Puritan personality spectrum, and whether this is deliberate writing to make him seem more Radical by the fact that he's educating his non-conformist fighting force about the dangers of the galaxy. Dan Abnett generally writes characters like these anyways, so it's not much of a shock if they're mimicking his stylings (he did write the lore, after all,) but I've seen a few hardcore fans complain about how the characters know way more than they should for average citizens/soldiers. I think the point is that they _aren't_ the average citizen or soldier, they're people who manipulated, got caught up in, or actively opposed the system.
And I mean, the things they know are on the scale of 'things a guardsman would kind-of know' as the Veterans usually bring up lore stuff, and all Veterans are former Guardsmen. Like about Cadia falling, especially as the Guardsman in question can be *from* Cadia, Guilliman and the Indomitus Crusade being a thing, the Cicatrix Maledictum existing (which Morrow has to confirm and even then they don't seem to get it quite), Eldar and Greenskins being a thing, as they might even have shot at them on deployment because Guardsman, Spess Marines and Battle Sisters existing and that a Penitent Engine exists (but not knowing what one *is* probably), Emprah's on Terra on the Golden Throne which is a big machine that does psyker-magic with human sacrifices, basically. None of these are particular lore-breaking for a Veteran guardsman in an Inquisitor's employ to know about. I'd think most Imperial citizens with access to decent resources are probably aware of Space Marines, the Sisters, Terra, Cadia falling and Guilliman being back because that was big news and so on.
@@hydradominatus That may be the biggest stretch but I can excuse it for the sake of good banter. Who knows, maybe one of them is a Callidus assassin in disguise.
@@therat1117 yep i can see the general concepted knowledge being known but nothing to concreate. as ya both the guard and everyone int he team *with notible exception of ogrien because some dont got enough bone ead' modules to be smort enough but ya got a few accaly brain developed ones to counter. but ya no one is in any standard anymore
@@lechking941 Ogryns aren't drooling invalids, just single-minded and not really capable of abstract thinking. The Ogryns in-game tend to ask simple questions and mostly talk about being a big strong lad, food, and killing things.
@@cloudywolf9738 hay thats a new nickname we have learned and ya its cute. but ya even a psyker understands ogryn are childish in nature but are rather lovly folk for working or otherwise
I mean... arent the Ogryns we play Boneheads themselves? Just asking since some of the weapons they use are usually Bonehead weapons and a lot of the things they say is above avarage Ogryn intelligence... or so it appears to me at least.
@bastiat4855 It's actually suggested that the ogryn is a bone 'ead depending on which personality you choose, tho I can't remember the names. You have one that is a bone' ead, one that wants to be one, and the last one thinks they don't need the implant
Zealot: Truly there was no greater disciple of the Emperor than Sebastian Thor, blessed be his name. Psyker: My Beloved says his head was stolen and placed in a vast museum by some insane collector! Ogryn: Bah. Hate mus- moosy- moo-see-ums. They get mad when you touch pretty things!
Just saying. In one of my mission, Veteran guardsman had a conversation with Morrow (I think that's his name), talking about some other hive city on Atoma Prime, that has already fallen to Chaos... Next update, I guess?😁
its also brought up by two others, one the savant psyker - he says he can sense the minds of the inhabitants so he KNOWS its there, so why will no one will acknowledge it? Exact same reply from Morrow
Considering the missions say "Tertium hive" when you're invited I feel that implies we may see other parts of planet or even the sector if conflict grows
@bastiat imagine thinking that the Inquisition cares about its agents. You literally have to kill about 100k heretics before they say in game that you could maybe be useful.
Their Inquisition now the only group in the entire empire aloud to know what's going on so they can fight choas properly. Thats why its called trust level after all
If there's one thing I acknowledge; its the fact these guys know this fight is hopeless. Atoma may be a vital point in the Imperium but until Traitor Astartes show up; its going to be the guard and the rejects alone who have to make their stands. No traitor Astartes; no quick liberation for Atoma, because traitor astartes would call for more serious response from the Imperium besides calling in guardsmen and prisoners to do the lifting. The bulk of the dialog is pretty funny and some of it is kind of sad or terrifying... like dude... do you know what a Penitent Engine is? If you lived long enough to gaze upon Sisters of Battle and the ranks of these crucified traitors; you'd know that you really REALLY don't want to know what they are capable of (Played Dawn of War; Penitent Engines are OP)
The situation on Atoma is really bad when you really get down to it. We know that a whole hive has fallen. The soldiers holding the line aren't Grendyl's warband its an off world guard unit by their insignia's. All they can do is hold choke points and contain for now while the heretics taint the hive and have their way. They will eventually over run this hive too since they had the numbers to take one already. Also isn't Atoma the second world of this area? Didn't the capital world fall?
@@ClubQRoundDeux no clue; given they keep talking about the indomitus crusade im going to assume the primary hive world did fall. The main problem is that Atoma is literally on its own and unless traitor astartes are reported then no help will come. Its quite sad really... Also the fact the surviving hive gangs are still fighting for their lives against overwhelming hoards of pox walkers...
Sisters of battle can be found in a lot of places at the local garrison level tho, penitent engines less so. Main issue is that the guard *was* sent. It's just they immediately turned coat.
@@Darkcerve Where does it say the guard expedition that was sent turned? The guardsmen we are fighting are the Moebian's that came back to attack after being corrupted. I don't think the off world guard turned. They got slaughtered, its why they just hold choke points like bridges now.
4:05 good advice. If you're looking for plasteel you'll also be running into more ammo more often 6:33 not really supposed to be general knowledge is it 9:50 that's gold, props
Yeah they have the same cast from Vermintide. One of the voice actress’ for female psykers is the same voice actress for Sienna, I think one of the male psykers is the same voice actor for saltzpyre but I could be wrong, Morrow is voiced by the same guy who voiced Kruber, and one of the ogryn voices is the same guy who voiced Bardin
They still have dialogue amongst one another. You can see it sometimes with bots when you're playing veteran. Having 2 loose cannon veteran voices is very much common.
It's a zealot, and he's saying that based on the fact that the heretics refer to 'Grandfather Nurgle' themselves. He doesn't know who Nurgle *is* at all.
@@therat1117 and as we hear from the seer (BOT) who does proably understand something exists that the beloved (fragment of the emperor) hates and has seen systems fall in the dream.
I mean we're in the inquisitions warband. I kind of assume these things would be learned eventually. And every bigwig on the ship can hear the comms so I assume they don't care as long as u do your job
Well it makes sense They called Nurgle a Demon and not a god thus they know demons exist but not the Chaos Gods as there has been a few dialogues lines doubting that the Chaos God's Actually exist but are Just really Strong Demons. Also since they are apart of Inquisition basic understanding of Warp and Warp Entities are a must for any Agent.
@@TheKsalad Not excactly, his officers hired an assasin to kill him, because he caught a disease of Nurgle, and had the records faked that he died in a battle, to hide the fact Chaos exists.
@@tomau0506 Because nurgle is the master of making plagues and disease. easily could have cooked up something and infected Macharius if macharius, had caught even a fraction of nurgles attention. The how doesn't matter, they simply will enjoy this delightful blessing.
Considering nearly every organization in the imperium was fighting at Cadia when it fell. Also I wouldn't be suprised if Gulliman kinda just let half of those things slip. Needs everything he could get for the Indominus Crusade so having people executed for knowing about half the things they know about isn't worth it.
veteran is my fav and main class but the fact that they are so meningless in the lore makes me not want to play them lol. at least ogryns have more meaning and onthe battlefield mean something lol, closer to a space marine than a veteran
Ech, Ogryn’s are tougher but Veterans are arguably more significant and dangerous once they reach the later parts of their service. Battlefield smarts and a good aim with a dangerous weapon are worth a lot. Given the group they’re in, Vets are almost certainly the ones with the most useful practical knowledge of how to survive, whilst the psykers know more about the esoteric, the Ogryns are dumb and the Zealots are actively scared of learning.
