Hi to my DIY buddies out there. Darning tulle is not an easy repair, and whilst with a lot of time could be almost invisible, this little hole just needed to be closed so that it would not open any further

Very good video to show what can be done. Nice end result for a small hole which is exactly like the repairs I need to make to a wedding dress. I would prefer to have the seamstress verbally explain what her process is while she is working, there was a method and I would rather hear about that than listen to the music. I turned the volume down.

Thank you for the comments Kaisfam. I will take that on board. I do have an online tutorial service where most of the videos have voice over. It is a paid subscription service, however I am trying to put a video a day up on my RU-vid Channel. You can always contact me if you have a question. Judith

What if its those material such as tulle?

This was lace that was attached to tulle. If it was tulle on it's own, it would be a lot harder to hide a hole in it. But it is possible to repair it by very carefully stitching a new section into it. I would find a piece of tulle within the garment that can be cut without it being noticed, and use that to repair. Every hole and garment type will be different.

My wedding dress ripped on the inside. It's a 5 inch tear connecting the skirt to the bodice. I honestly think it'll be OK since I'm only wearing it for an hour..but can I use this method to repair it? Mixed fabrics...tulle..lace..

Hi Annette, I can't see why not. If the tulle is ripped. If however the tear is going across the waist line near a seam, then it would be a matter of unpicking the seam and pulling the tulle up inside and restitching. But if there is no seam near the tear then yes, it would definitely be an alternative way to repair. Judith
