So good. How the buying public ignored these albums is beyond comprehension. Soul Alone is a Classic. Daryl has been taken for granted and underrated with his solo records. This whole concert is master class of R&B&SOUL&ROCK genius.
I spent an evening listening to Daryl perform. The concert was fantastic had me grooving. I just wish there was video of this concert. It would be a great dvd. I love watching Daryl in concert. To see a solo performance of him, would be outstanding.
Watch "Daryl Hall live in Japan 1996 Can't Stop Dreaming" on You Tube features many of these songs. What's in Your World in particular is great as he shows many emotions singing this song. Most of the songs he has written are, as he has often said, autobiographical of his life.
This is the only stuff I listen to, if I had to live on an island with only one musician to listen to, who would it be, my answer...Daryl Hall OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome! So wonderful to hear Daryl's first Solo Concert, back home in Philadelphia. The crowd is so warm and thrilled to be listening to one of its Sons playing and singing Music that transports, transforms and feels so so good, even the songs that hurt! #LetMeBeTheOne. What harmonies. The Band is at the top of their form. They are always as good as it gets and Daryl.s Vocals, Songs, and Joy are inspirational - food for the heart & soul. The Audience's Ovation at the end, says it all. Music Rules! Daryl we are happy you are fulfilling your Destiny, bringing more of your "children" out into the world. Can not believe how beautiful your songs are - and so advanced. I am beyond grateful to you, RU-vid, and everybody in your "loop" who are sharing this musical wealth with all of us. Thank you! 🥰
Thank you for uploading this concert. My late husband passed away in August 2004. He introduced me to Hall and Oates and I have been a fan ever since. Mr Hohl sounds great as per usual 👍🏿
Sorry to hear of the passing of your husband but I'm happy to hear he left an impact in your life in regards to H&O. In a way, my late mother also introduced me to the band, though it was indirectly when one of their songs were playing on the radio
Thanks so much for posting this -- I love Daryl's solo work. maybe more than the Hall and Oates stuff (which I also love.) Daryl's rap is funny (around the 30 minute mark) responding to a shouted request -- "I do that with John...do you see John up here...?"
What a fantastic upload! Thanks for sharing. Rather hoping we'll get to enjoy this all live in April. It's been too long since he's performed his solo catalog for an audience that really appreciates that significant part of his musical journey.
Yes the pictures from the CD release are in the video, it was a rare release offered to fans for a limited time around 2004 through a certain club or the old website I believe :) Sometimes it's online for sale which is where I got the pictures from, but rarely
