Now this is how you should drive. Watch the speed when the road train starts to pass the dashcam truck... dashcam driver reduces his speed from 90 so that the other passes quicker.... then when the passing roadtrain has safely overtaken, he increases back up to 90. This driver demonstrates safety, courtesy and most of all, road craft.
Happy to see you still here and posting. One of my first discovery views of Australia some years back. You post 'em, I'll watch 'em, and enjoy every minute of 'em. :)
I'm from the U.S, and I love me some rigs. My Dad currently owns a very small trucking company, it's just him as of now, and I've been living, eating, and breathing trucks my entire life. But I had never seen what Australian Road Trains were until I visited this channel, and, I'm addicted. I really want to do that someday. If you can, or, well anyone who's reading this and knows about the life, can I get some info on it? Such as the training you take, how it is out there on the roads of Australia, what do you need to do yo your engine and your truck to provide yourself worthy of such big freight? Anything information would be nice.
Are ride-alongs permitted? If I ever visit Australia, I'd really like to ride with one of these road-train truckers on a long-haul cross-country trip, particularly on some of the more remote dirt-road routes.
