Those who didn't see the good in Elvis Presley were simply blind with jealously. He was blessed with a lot to be jealous of BUT his best feature was his kind soul.

Elvis did this as a tribute to Martin Luther king jr. Shortly after he was assassinated; when Elvis heard that he had been murdered he sobbed like a baby because he had admired and respected MLK jr so much.

No such thing as reacting to the right or wrong version when it comes to this song - it's the message that is important - and the absolute PASSION he puts into this - which is a rehearsal (unbelievable). Of course, the TV special version is incredible, but this version - it acts as an insight into how he felt about it. Great reaction.

This song is very important in the context of Elvis and his attitude and beliefs - it isn't simply about performance, it is about the core of his frustration and despair at the social changes that were needed then, and are still needed today. This version paints a picture of the history involving this song, and why Elvis recorded it as a direct response to a heinous act against someone who implored for peace and understanding - a great man shot down because of hate. And this rehearsal reveals the emotion in Elvis' soul. Your reactions are tremendous because you look deeper than just the performance - you look for the emotion. The context of this song is very very important, and you get that, and as a life-long Elvis fan, I'm grateful there are good guys like you trying to shine a light on the beautiful person that Elvis really was.

You're hearing takes, false starts, etc. The live on soundstage version was the final live take. But there were numerous studio takes. Including one he recorded on the concrete floor, in an almost fetal position, in the dark! 😮 👍

Great reaction! Thanks Dasmine, for your reaction and for the shoutout! 💖 😁 This was 9 years before he died. (August 16, 1977) His career was revived. The '68 Comeback was itself a break with what everything he'd previously done. In just a few years, things didn't go right for him. But this is really the pinnacle of his career!

There's two live recordings of this. A "black leather suit" version and a "white suit" version. You should totally check out both (as two separate reactions) because he sings it with so much passion.

Hey man great reaction ! you feel it ! By the way the reason this audio was used is because the text within the video relates to the studio version he recorded for the single release. We wanted to convey that process of him going down on his knees in that darkened studio to cut it ! We did not use the TV version for that reason..not sure why you are getting heat ! Lol...we try to mix up the videos we produce to be different and get folk thinking..there are many hidden Easter eggs in our videos...and hell it’s a damn fine take regardless.. you got it bro ! This song is a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr after was killed in Memphis Elvis was alive. The finished version is the best performance Elvis has ever given pays to see it. This is just a rehearsal he did 29 takes of this before he was satisfied I think. Give it a try powerful is an understatement on the finished version.

I have things to say about your opinion. First of all, Elvis was not called the king for no reason. Yes, he grew up in the 40s in the South and there was a lot of stuff going on. But he was awesome. And you should stop talking so much on your videos.. we would like to hear the songs, and then give your feedback after.
