The community services sector holds a huge amount of personal information about Queenslanders. Understanding data privacy obligations helps prevent potential harm, fosters trust and respects the dignity and rights of those who access services. Capturing consent is an important intersect with data privacy, particularly when individuals identify with varying vulnerabilities.
In this session (recorded on 9 May 2024) we're joined by Professor John Swinson (The University of Queensland) and Tonia De Bruin (Yourtown) to talk about privacy and consent. We unpack relevant legislation and case studies that demonstrate practical approaches to gaining consent.
