I was married to my best friend for 17 years. He died in October 2021. I decorated my office space and said Happy Valentines day to him when i woke up today. I will take flowers out this pm to him. Miss him every day, but I've adjusted to the single life. Each day is a blessing! ❤️❤️

My Valentine and I have been together for 35 years. This year he was diagnosed with cancer. He always gave me cards and gifts for Valentines days. This year he can not get out and shop. He did ask me to buy what I wanted. I just want him well.

I bought a Valentine's Day gift for myself and also one for my sister-in-law. My brother passed away suddenly quite a while ago but she still feels lonely on this holiday. I visited her today and gave her the gift. A win-win!!!!

I've had the same valentine for 42 years and we basically ignore valentine's day. And I've noticed that the healthiest relationships around me do the same. Showing love should be a daily thing, not an on-special-occasions thing.

My husband and I shared Valentine’s Day with my 90 year old mom who lives 3 hours away. She will be moving from her familial home of 30 years to a retirement home at end of month. We agreed that, hopefully, we will have many more Valentine’s Days to share together, but felt it was important to spend time with her. It was lovely, shared a yummy meal, took her for a haircut and clothes shopping for her new home. Every day is an opportunity to share love with important people in our lives. Today is always a hard day for me, my husband and I were married 13yrs ago today. I remember saying that I wanted it be today to always remember this day forever. However it's been 2 years and my love is no longer here. Today I will go and grab food and make a nice dinner and have a glass of wine and watch a movie with our son who is 13. Married 55 years, we took a drive out into the country. We enjoy the ride, laugh, tell stories and when he sees something I might like to take a picture of he stops for me. I am not a romantic. In my opinion only, Valentine's Day is just another commercially motivated holiday to encourage spending. My idea of love is when individual, partners or friends work through the good and the not so good days for the sake of wellness, relationship and family. I love flowers, but they fade. I love chocolate, but it gives me migraines. To love is to be there through life's 'stuff' and grow deeper in understanding of myself and my partner. Love, to me, is caring more about the wellness of relationship than being the one that is right. Love is allowing another to flow in their own natural way. I am widowed and spent the day with my grand daughters. It was lovely. They are lovely. I always tried to make Valentines a special Day for my husband and kids. Now they do for their significant others and kids. I have always believed in taking the opportunity of a special day to show those that I love that they are important and make my life better. I don't remember if it was Valentine's Day or my birthday, but the guy I was dating wasn't interested in taking me out to celebrate so I took myself out on a date. I dressed up, took myself to my favorite oriental restaurant and a movie. Best date ever! I dumped the jerk after that.

I have had many Valentine's days on my own. This time I have a nice boyfriend, but he lives elsewhere in the country, so he sent me a parcel of goodies and gifts, and we watched a romantic film at the same time. My favourite French Film called Populaire (it is set in the 1950's- so has great vintage vibes and costumes). We still had a lovely day. When I was single, I still celebrated it, doing what you do, I would even buy myself a small box of chocolates and a some bubble bath. I still very much enjoyed the day when single.

When I was young I didn't date much. 10 years I was alone then 7 years I was alone then 5, then 3 and when I was older, 11 years alone. I've been alone for most of my life. In the beginning it is frustrating and sad but then I learned how to be alone and enjoyed it. 2019 I wasn't looking for anyone and my partner came into my life. Everyday we show appreciation towards each other. Everyday is Valentine's Day for us. We support each other during our bad days and celebrate our good ones. We see ourselves growing old together. It's about uniting as a couple. Our relationship has gone beyond the sexual part of a relationship. It is about having inner peace, inner stability. Every day we find something to laugh about.

I currently have a long-distance boyfriend. During his last visit, it struck me that he is not as nurturing as my close girlfriends are. Hi Elise. An unusual comment but if you have to keep your bed with your feet pointing to the door frame, you should hang a lead light crystal with a red cord. Hang it between the door frame and the foot of the bed from the ceiling. It's good feng shui and will help with any restlessness you have. Same if you place the bed under the window. Just to keep the good energy in the home. This may not be your cup of tea. So just a thought. Your home is gorgeous 😍💜
