Dave Mustaine speaks about his attempt to leave Metallica and being held back while in the band. #DavidEllefson #Megadeth #thrashmetal #davemustaine #metallica
His vocals too is better... I know that James's VOICE is more fitting to metal music, but in aspect of VOCALISATION Dave is still better in that aspect.
Riiiiiight, Dave. He felt so held back that he spent 25 years crying about how he was kicked out of Metallica, and wished he could go back in time to change that.
@@imagereflection4826 he contributed to multiple songs off kea and rtl and he wasnt credited for anything he did on mop. if you think rtl and kea didnt make metallica popular then youre clearly biased
@@komorebi7955 He CO WROTE 4 songs on KEA and contributed 2 riffs on RTL (an album that has over 50 riffs) and he contributed absolutely nothing on MOP. Not biased just realistic. He helped them get noticed early to get signed to a financially crippled independent label and that's it. They achieved fame and success without him.
He's flip flopped so many times. If they hadn't kicked him out when they did, he still wouldn't have been in the band by album 2. I think Dave is probably the single most talented guy out of the Big4. But his drunken behavior was such that he was booted from 'alcoholica', then look at the personnel changes in Megadeth. Yes, it's his band, but he's still gone through a ton of band mates. People have voluntarily left one of the most successful metal bands in history to either start over, or to play in a band that can't touch megadeth artistically or financially. Some of these departures after he got sober, so his behavior isn't just from an altered state of mind. For all the shit Metallica have gotten over booting him, they're just a few out of many people that couldn't work with him for very long.
The first Metallica album (written with Dave) is one of the best, most ground breaking metal albums. The next 4 were also stellar. And then... they sold out and completely sucked. Their best post black album song is literally a damn Bob Seager cover. Peace Sells and Symphony of Destruction in particular are in another league musically though. They are blazing fast like Metallica never was. Crazy, funny, pure truth in the lyrics, full of wild twists and turns. The only guy on Dave's level in Metallica was the late Cliff Burton. And Dave never sold out and still speaks the truth. He's still metal as fuck and speaks the truth about the fucked up shit taking over the world. Answer me this: is there anything, anywhere in Metallica's whole catalog that comes close to the solo in Tornado of Souls in terms of speed and complexity? No.
Damn someone sounds like their favewite band didn't sell as many albums as Metallica and that Metallica doesn't need conplexity to sound great.... Gonna cry?
Dave didn’t write the first album with them nor did he leave the band Thur fired him because he was a drunk and heroin addict I’m still a fan of both bands even tho Dave is a big cry baby till this day
You can call it whatever you want the fact is james and Lars are worth 300 million each Dave is worth 25 million that’s a big reward for becoming main stream selling out stadiums all around the world vs Dave complaining like the resent little girl he is wishing he was still in Metallica misery loves company that’s so hat Dave is miserable if he wasn’t the Metallica name wouldn’t still till this day 40 years later be coming out of his moth
He was like, 23 or something in the interview. Being interviewed about something with such regret over and over has to hurt. But look at him now. I would love to have %5 of his success when I'm 60
Where I’ve been is at every Metallica sold out concert every football stadium they seek out and also been at every coliseum megadeth can’t seem to fill to compasity
Super talented people don't fill huge arenas necessarily. I bet not many of you know who Uli Jon Roth is because of this. People in general have a narrow view of what they like. Unfortunately, people don't care about complexity in music. They are all about the same 4 chords, what makes them dance, and even what's on popular shows. The typical music listener doesn't care about what's too fast musically either and will often complain of sloppiness even though more advanced listeners can hear distinct melodies and the fact the parts are right on tempo.
