Also about the same time as Metallica's "Load" photo shoot. (Btw Lars and Jerry Cantrell are good buddies, they used to regularly hang out & gamble in Vegas) Metallica were in the audience of the AIC Unplugged show and when Metallica showed up with all new high & tight hairdos, Mike Inez wrote on his bass "Friends don't let friends get friends haircuts" and he showed the audience and the camera's what he thought about their new do's. ✌️☮️

@@austingrunig5183 Definitely had a bit too much to drink. He was a raging alcoholic and was fired from the band for this reason. I absolutely love Mustaine as a rhythm guitarist. But his solos are not my thing. Kirk sounded 10x better in the 1st 4 albums. His solos on KEA are better (even though they are just adapted from Mustaine's version) vs Mustaine's solos on multiple demos.

100% agree. However, despite being Metallica's greatest back up vocalist, Newstead is Metallica's 3rd best bassist. Cliff and Dave were extremely gifted but they could only go as far as Lars's skills. I think Dave wrote the best songs on kill em all. I'm also glad they kicked him out so we could have another great band.

The way he plays the bass guitar is so unique and beautiful. I have never heard or seen anything remotely close to his skill and creativity on a bass. So unfortunate that night on the bus flipping over and crushing such a savant. RIP
It might be kinda out of topic, but I'll tell it anyway. When I discovered this video it was two days ago and my cat was still alive. And I was watching the video with him, Atlas. Then I took my bass and played Leper Messiah, he listened to me as I was playing. So I'm watching this video again, and he is not around. He had a heart attack suddenly. He was just six months old. In his last moments I wasn't there, I was in the library and studying. He must have thought of me before he died. It's sad guys but if you don't have a pet you might not understand these kind of feelings. It's relaxing to write these feelings. Life is going on.

So again: Sorry that that happened to you and I hope that everything else is alright. Shit happens but of course it hurts, I've grown up with a bunch of pets and so I know the feeling very well. @@ParadoxDaemon cliff era un prodigio que lastimosamente no pudo dar todo su potencial, Dave fue expulsado antes de demostrar su mejor parte, lars, pues que puedo decir, kirck, era muy bueno en sus inicios, sin embargo ya sabemos su historia con el wah wah, jason, nunca me gustó cómo cantaba, y fuera de eso, le quedaron los zapatos muy grandes de su antecesor, no digo que sea malo, si no que no destacó más que el prodigio musicalmente y por último robert, que es el único que veo que puede tocar como cliff, una verdadera máquina en el bajo, aunque no me gusta su look, una pequeña opinión desde mi punto de vista.

Melodic bass, Intro from hell at 4:35 & 5:14 to 5:22, Dave punching his head, raw screeching lyrics that can't contain the giddy excitement of it all and sung like a handful of gravel has been thrown down James throat, crunchy guitar and my ears ring when it is finished. It would be all so offensive to anyone not into that scene at the time, I just love the rawness of it all soooo much!
Dave Mustaine would have never lasted in Metallica even if had hadn't been drinking. His personality is too much of a take charge, leader type that James & Lars would have kicked him out anyway.
Cliff was a leader too, a disciplinarian type to make sure the band stay in line. Lars wouldn’t get away with a lot of the shit he did if Cliff were around. As for Dave? He was too talented to just follow orders. Megadeth was his platform.

I was fortunate enough to see Cliff play with Metallica on the Master Of Puppetts tour. I also saw Megadeth on their Peace Sells, So Far So Good So What & Countdown to Extinction tours. Both bands were amazing & talent-wise were miles ahead of any other bands at the time. I'm an old man now but I still listen to thrash regularly. ✌️☮️

Cliff Burton was so awesome. May he rest in peace. 🙏🏼✝️ All of Metallica's people now are so tight. I hope they come to Sacramento soon it's only 3 hours away from where I live. BTW, this is the 1st time I've heard this. LOVE IT. ❤
Man if only we could have got one more year out of Cliff Burton before he passed away. More would be better but just one more year would have been awesome
