Man, Dave is probably my best inspiration as a musician ever. He was kicked out one of the biggest bands ever, he created a new band and became fucking amazing, and then that injury he had, the fact he recovered from that is inspiration for any fucked up musician :D
I love Dave's mannerism. He really explains things well. So cool that he shares his physical therapy experiences with us, and takes the time to show everything. Great how he mentions his teacher's name too! I love all the tips. Dave should be a teacher!
yeah, he is awsome. Saw annihilator live at swedenrock 2014, never heard of them before and had some time between bands I planned to see so i thought why not, guess if I was happy with that choice!
This is for Mustaine: I have to confess that your musical work is a great part of the soundtrack of my life. Thank you for giving me -and to the rest of the Megadeth fans- the best music I've ever heard... and I heard a lot!
has to be one ov the most informative guitar lessons from a famous player i've ever seen he explains exactly what he's doing and shows it , many famous players don't really show you shitt in there lessons , not sure if they are bad teachers or want to keep their style/technique a secret ...
@@jamesdbz244 you think that James is lesser than kirk and Dave cuz he plays rhythm? Lol, kirk is sloppy and mustaine is overrated. James is a precision dowpicking machine which plays cleaner than both kirk and dave

"Learn how to play again". Yeah I understand completely! I have a pinched nerve in my C3 through C5 in my neck. This causes my arm muscles to react much more slowly than they normally would. It is incredibly frustrating!
I love this it helps like more then you know he is a genius... I Have a Megadeth shirt for everyday of the month and i wear them, and my Iron Maiden shirts everyday. #DAVEMUSTAINE!
I love that how Dave teaches so much of his stuff, there's so many of these videos which I absolutely love about him. And that's the point where I can't appreciate Hetfield, from what I see there's not even 1 video where he'd pick up his guitar to teach random stuffs or his downpicking; there a 30 sec video where he says t'was mutual competition or something like that, I find Kirk teaching Master Of Puppets but not James.
that's true i've seen a lot of player with different picking styles, some close their fists when they speed up, some leave their finger loose, some people hold the pick at an angle which isnt as bad as he makes it sound in some of the other videos, but he just likes to pick as parallel as he can because that just how he does it....
A spider riff is when you play powerchords using your index and ring finger and your bird and pinky. For instance if you play e-2/a-4 your index is on e-2 and your ring is on a-4. When you move to e-3/a-5 you use your bird and pinky instead of sliding your hand down.
Metallica was awesome! (in the 80's before the whole cover-song, tired-ass, non-metal sellout thing they did that Cliff said they would never do) RIP Cliff Burton
greatest thrash metal band combo EVER: Robert Plant- lead vocals Jimi Hendrix- lead guitar Jimmy Page- guitar, backing vocals Cliff Burton/Steve Harris- Bass Guitar Neil Peart- Drums
I actually though 'Risk' wasn't that bad an album. Sure it wasn't as heavy as their earlier (and later) stuff but it was still a good/decent album. And hey, at least it had guitar solos even if they were bad. Unlike Metallica's 'St. Anger'...!!! Which is raised quite high up in my list if Top. 5 Metallica albums.
nothing irks me more than the words "sold out". what are they supposed to do? make the exact same type of music for 30 years?? thats insane. musicians mature, progress, and change over time. i love all of metallica and megadeth's early thrash stuff but Load and Cryptic Writings were some of their most honest, heartfelt albums in my opinion. The difference between, lets say Peace Sells and Youthanasia or Ride the Lightning and Reload is a testament to the versatility and talent of both bands. this is the exact reason i dont like slayer...
I don't care what anybody says or thinks : nothing Megadeth has done, Nor Slayer - or ANY other hardcore/Thrash/ Speed Metal band - can come close to the bone crushing, ear piercing, soul sizzling 'UNTIL IT SLEEPS' by Metallica . :/
***** I saw that James Hetfield, of Metallica, is getting a sex change and forming a band with Caitlyn (Bruce Jenner) - it's going to be called TRAN WRECK
Overkill, Testament, Slayer, Anthrax, megadeth, never quit they're style or metal. That is what I am saying. All those bands know they can roast the fuck out of Metallica...lol you know it's true Metal heads..Metallica sold the fuck out, everybody comes to see them play their old stuff. Death magnetic sucks..just a bunch of noise. You can't cruise and jam that shit and get chick's and props for a bad as stereo??? Playing anything after the Justice album..Metallica sold out before Maiden, sabbath fuck, what up with that shit? All the bands I named never changed or switched up or let their fans down like Metallica . That's all I am saying.
I can relate to the injury part, and I like what he had to say. I still have wrist tendinitis in my strumming hand. It sucks having to cope, but things could be worse!
This is an amazing musician really...Remember that he was so deep down in to alcoholism but he still manage to make music...I have been drinking for about a week now and I can hardly play music now in this stage...One or two beers can make me more creative but more alcohol just kills all the musical feeling that I got...
I'm not going to say that Dave mustaine beats everyone in metallica because I love Metallica, but Dave mustaine is heading towards being one of the great guitarists in the world.
actually it was his drinking problem he like the rest of them drank a lot he was just very aggressive when he was drunk and did not write but a few song and they were on ONLY kill em all and lightning they were the riff 4 four horsemen (mechanix) jump in the fire (lyrics) Phantom Lord (lyrics) Metal Militia (lyrics and riff) ride the lightning (part of the riff) and ktulu he wasnt actually involved in
I remember when Dave came out with the guitar at ESP. It was called the Axxion. He never used it live, although Glen Drover did. And the headstock changed. Needless to say that guitar was pretty much a flop.
That part where it says "Most kids know them over metallica, but does it mean that they are famous?" I meant to say "but does it mean they are better?"
There are people who are better at one thing that Mustaine does, and others that are better at an another, but there's no-one who’s as good at everything.
yeah....i am living under the rock where the humor is hiding - everybody living above that rock doesnt know what humor is...cheers from down here little kid from the country-side, also from dave and kirk, they are here with me jammin...
