The song is Chrysanthemum Rag. Dave is a friend and I don't miss his concerts locally which are numerous. He played a concert celebrating my late wifes life at the Blackwood Estate.
The music, of course, is awesome! Scott Joplin was a fantastic ragtime composer and player. Dave Wickerham is a phenomenal musician. Once we realized the music had come from the piano, as well, most of us musicians (myself included) are more interested in watching Mr Wickerham play not watching a static piano.
Let me know when you are ready. You can do one of your weekend concerts here, live on RU-vid. I would have Jelani come by (he lives 15 minutes from us) and go over the entire organ and console with you to help you get comfortable. With over 455+ stops and over 100 ranks, it helps to have someone share all the great secrets that are at your fingertips.
This organ is housed in a large warehouse. The Carma people plan to move the contents of the warehouse to another location at a later date. At which time the building will become a large auditorium with good acoustics. The public will then be invited to attend these concerts. I hope it happens soon.
Would someone please wake up the gentleman sitting in the background? He might miss this...! Theater Organ is perfect for playing this ragtime style. The plethora of stops and sounds from the organ adds so much variety to just piano playing. Did Joplin ever play T.O.? Camerawork of Dave's backside adds to the excitement of the event. Thanks to all!
I don't read the comments too often, but I saw yours today (June 20th). If you truly want to come to a concert, you have 2 options. July 7th and October 14th. Now that you know in advance, there's no excuse to not being here! Please introduce yourself to me when you're here! It would be my honor.
This is in our "current" distribution center warehouse. We will eventually be moving everything in the warehouse (except the organ) into a new warehouse and production facility. The land has already been purchased. Everything takes time. Eventually, when the business is moved out of the building, the only thing that will remain will be the organ. At this point, the idea is to create an actual auditorium. The acoustics are already there. They are just being currently stifled by all of the racks full of boxes.
