So here's a story: I'm an actor and screenwriter and years ago I moved to LA. It's a tough town. Really tough. But I happened to meet David Arquette after seeing him in a play. I didn't go up to him. He came up to me randomly and just started chatting. He was the nicest guy. After a while I told him I was an actor and he said he had a good feeling about me and that he'd make some calls. I expected nothing of it. A few weeks later my manager got a call from the casting director on Medium, David's sister's show. David had called him and asked him to give me a meeting. Hollywood isn't kind to newbies. Everybody's looking out for themselves. I've had plenty of ups and downs, but I've got a body of work of my own now. I've been in movies and shows, I've been a series regular, and I've written for TV. To this day I know only one person who has ever done me a genuinely selfless favor like this. And it's David Arquette. A great example, and a good guy. Oh, and one last thing. Watch the part where he does an impression of Wes Craven, and see how all of David's giddy school boy energy leaves him and he becomes completely still, then immediately reverts back to being himself. The guy transforms. He's a natural, fantastic actor, and one of a kind. Lots of actors are a type. You want a Denzel, you get a Denzel type. You want a Leo, you get a Leo type. That's how it goes. You work down the list. But there's only one David. maybe he's not right for every single part. But every role he's ever done, literally nobody else could have done the same way.

Since I'm watching Friends on a constant loop, that's what I've seen him the most in - I thought he was playing the character over the top, but it seems like he actually dialled it down for that 😅
