😳 What are Navy SEAL David Goggins's stretching routines?
👉 [FULL ARTICLE]: www.gotrom.com/blog/goggins-s...
From shedding 106 pounds to conquering Navy SEAL challenges and setting Guinness World Records, Goggins's body has endured it all.
But here's the game-changer - his stretching routine!
In this video/article, I reveal 11+ key stretches inspired by Navy SEAL training, allowing you to conquer pain, excel in endurance, and unleash your full potential.
Goggins's journey is a great example of the power of stretching, and this article dives deep into the core stretches that have transformed his life. We explore the psoas muscle and how Goggins incorporates it into his routine.
This video breaks down the 11 key stretches, from neck to glutes, and even mentions Goggins's favorite calf stretch using a board angled against a wall. And, you don't need to do 8-12 hours like Goggins; 30 minutes of daily stretching can work wonders for the average person.
And the best part?

@GotROM
@GotROM 11 месяцев назад
Thanks for the love! I’m curious about your experience with the psoas? What have you found?
@alanrastelli
@alanrastelli 11 месяцев назад
@GotROM it can cause a ton of back and hip pain. Also, because of its intimate relationship with visceral organs and major blood vessels, it can tighten up due to organ issues as well as making organ issues worse if tight. I agree with Goggins, but I would explain the link with anxiety in a slightly different way.
@GotROM
@GotROM 11 месяцев назад
@@alanrastelli Do you like massaging it? Stretching it? Strengthening it? What's your approach?
@alanrastelli
@alanrastelli 11 месяцев назад
@GotROM i like massaging it but it's often difficult due to varying degrees of adiposity. I often end up doing mostly pnf stretching for patients and prescribe strengthening of the posterior chain to reverse anterior pelvic tilt tendencies (90% of the population). I do a more tissue work on their rectus femoris as it's easier to access. I keep it simple as many people don't even want to do the bare minimum. Strengthening the hip flexors is very important in athletes for sprinting and jumping motions. I think we could sit down and chat for hours about the body...or better chat as we stretch 🔥

My upper body was super tight for years. I'm a tiny lady but my muscles felt like they were crushing me to death. My Dr.'s would try to stretch me out, but it was so hard that they would yell, while using all of their strength trying to stretch me out, but they couldn't. No man could. Dr.s gave me trigger point injections to numb me for a few days and always seemed shocked when they would pull the needle out of my muscles and the needle was bent into a C shape. They finally had to start using a very large bore needle in order to prevent the needle from breaking off inside my muscles. I finally have things under control, for the most part. I work out and stretch, and that's pretty much all that I do. I can feel if my muscles are wigging out, so I switch up my body work routine with the quickness. I cant work anymore, but staying in shape (better than most people my age) feels like a huge accomplishment because it is extremely challenging. I have injuries in every part of my body, some they say is serious, but if I don't keep on top of it, it will kick my butt. No thanks!

be careful about overstretching, pandiculation (feeling the fascia, energy, tensegrity) protects this by tensing the opposite muscle. dynamic "stretching" before exercise, static after. And then strengthen the range of motion to build mobility. such as the hamstring stretch touching toes- keep back straight and point the toes to relax the sciatic nerve and focus on muscle.

How much time do you have lol ..I have had ongoing lower back issues for 2 plus years now following stomach surgery where they cut my abdominal muscles straight down to my navel. Im no stranger to physical exercise as I'm a former Navy Officer, short version after the surgery I went back to work way too fast following the advise of my surgeon who has no idea about post surgical procedure, started getting lower back pain which eventually turn into full blown sciatica 😢. Suffered an over training injury one week before trying these stretches ( trying to rehab and strengthen my lower back). I have done x-rays on my back and MRI of my nerves , both of which didn't show any major structural issues, Neurological surgeon suspects a muscle issue that may be impending the sciatic nerve.

@@GotROM Six years. People don't believe me when I say that all I do to stay jacked is run, then do yoga afterward. I'm a woman with a six pack, I'm never sore, I've never been injured, and I'm so loose that I can do tricep dips with my legs over my shoulders. When I started, I couldn't touch my toes. The human body is crazy adaptive! Yoga is easily the most valuable life skill that I've acquired and that's why I implore men to do it. It gets tangible results, it's humbling, and it's free.

Would you recommend stretching before or after the training? Before warming up or after?
@GotROM

The rule of thumb is usually after a warm up. Some of those who sit for long hours start with a stretch to help them open up their body from prolonged sitting. Right after that a good training regimen would be a good idea. What are you currently doing for your routine?

On top of after workouts, the two other best times are first thing in the morning when you wake and last thing at night before you sleep…this is because our brain is closer to a theta wave state during these times…and this is the state where subconscious reprogramming takes place. So if you do this your body will remember how its supposed to be when it’s stretched out and not bounce back as hard to its tight state. If you don’t believe me try something easier…pick something a little difficult to memorize and repeat for about 10 minutes before falling asleep

To make a short story long, lol, I already was familiar with Bikram, his teacher Bishnu Gosh, and Bishnu’s brother Paramahansa Yogananda. I had Bikram’s books and cd’s. I have never been to a studio so I would heat up my bathroom and do the postures to the two cd’s which is a recorded Bikram class. @GotROM I have a problem with Sciatica, which affects the entire left lower half of my body. I am 50 and have lost a lot of my mobility. I am healthy and have worked out with weights for many years. With that said, the problems with Sciatica have affected every part of my life, and living with pain has become a part of everyday life for me. I have been stretching the last few weeks, and it has improved that tenfold. This is what brought me to your video on this subject, and I believe taking the approach David did will help me. I have been doing 3 hours a day of stretching, broken up into 1 hour blocks 3 times a day. I will add that obviously David is committed, but clearly, he also has the TIME. I am not sure if he has children that are in his home as he keeps his private life very private. I personally have raised 3 kids and also have a grandchild, and on top of that, work 110 hours a week. It is not just about dedication, I know alot of dedicated people who do not have the time to stretch for 12 hours a day on top of everything else in their lives.
