@@GWheeler24 congrats bro!!! I am late to this comment but i hope everything goes well for you i wish you safe travels and the best of luck in tech school and i hope it’s a great experience for you man!!!!🙏🏼
I took it recently and got a 66 (this was my 2nd attempt) and found out that I could get ANY job I want in the army because my scores basically triple the minimum requirement lol. Did you go in? what branch and what job?
@@toxic_gaming8580I took it the other day because wants to join has been practicing like crazy.. I took it figured easy in the 90s.. I got a 66 and couldn't believe I did so low.. the test is tricky the way the questions are asked.. my son needs to be in low 70s for what he wants to be in.. his highest score was a 42 so far.. I think im going to put him in a local asvab tutoring prep program
Bro I’m 17 and literally showed up crossfaded with like an hour of studying the night before and got an 88, I thought they were joking when I saw my score cause I literally took it as a joke
@@joshuabailey2746 everything happens for a reason. I learned from my father to embrace and grow from failure. But that doesn’t mean you forget your failures.
I got a 79 but i needed an 81 on the LMN so i had to reapply with the OPQ and take the RST in order to qualify for the UVW. I failed that 4 days ago. I think I’ll apply for the XYZ next year and try my luck again.
Got a 36 or 37 on my asvab the first time wanted to be an 88m in the army but then I looked at the Marines and got a 73 on the asvab and will be a aircraft mechanic and will ship out July 29th
I ended up with a 99. Felt pretty easy. But I have learned that intelligence is like CPU - doesn’t matter how powerful your machine is if your programming sucks.
I think I got like a 91 but I dropped out when I was a junior. So there was shit on that test that I've never seen in my entire life and I'm pretty sure I failed those but I don't know how I got a high score.
It’s kinda funny how the whole point of the short is literally just focused on how Goggins sucked at his Asvab. No usual motivation shit he’s normally being clipped in.🤣😂
The recruiter told me not to study for the asvab So then I studied And then served as a linguist for 6 years Y’all gotta take care of your own self and not take the advice of recruiters
@@Emerardo the thinking is that they want you to score based on what you naturally gravitate towards. So if you naturally are good at mechanical stuff you might do better there than say electrical stuff etc. and that might be an indicator for what jobs could fit you better then if you studied things you weren’t naturally gifted in Which doesn’t make a lot of sense imo
Our intelligence is why we are the best species on the entire planet. Do what he does better, be more intelligent, and always strive to be better, even against people who you look up to.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s PsyOps correct ? I’m considering choosing that or being a 35 L CI. But there’s not too much information that even the official page answers and even my recruiter.
My mom got. A 99 on the asvab. I got a 36. My dad was the one in the military I don't remember his. A score is just a score to me. Your mentality is more important
I got a 68 my first try. They didn't even know where to put me. I said no to a blank MOS and walked away from joining the NAVY. They didn't tell me it was a high score for someone that didn't study for it and didn't know what the test was gonna be like. I just didn't want them putting me in a bad job for a high scoring recruit. Tried going to Air Force but their offices are always closed. 😂 stopped trying after the 4th tike going and their doors were closed. Ended up joining Security and now I run my own business.
I literally just went to take the ASVAB test yesterday for the Airforce and i got a 44 the guy toleñd me I need a 65 or higher... I failed the Math and Arithmetic tests... Those were really difficult for me. I just want to make a positive change in my life..
Here I am about to retake mine next week I got a 7 the first time maths is my problem especially arithmetic reasoning Well I have been studying a lot so let’s see this time
just scored a 68, going 37Fox!!! good luck to all. Learn how to add fractions with different denominators, and converting percents into fractions and vice versa. Read the question first and answer options before reading the entire paragraph, could answer the question within the first 2-3 sentences. Also, just use the options given to figure out what x or y is during the equation problems.
To reiterate. The ASVAB test is just a entrance test to get in the military. Basically a SAT for which college you gonna get into in. We already have the national service at 18, essentially you can be called up to service at anytime, this ain’t a conscription law but you take the test and when the time comes they’ll evaluate your score. If you got a high score you’ll be conscripted as military engineer, low would end you being a infantryman or cook (this isn’t conscription just to know who’s who’s when the time is needed)
Wow The ASVAB was easy. I got a 90 something. Not bragging trust me. It's mostly common sense stuff and simple math. I think I could have aced it but I missed the instructions on the speed math test and didn't finish enough questions in the short time allowed. Because I scored so high I got to pick my first assignment. I chose Hawaii.
Same bro. I only took the pre test before I failed the medical exam for marine corps. Got a 94 without even studying. Probably could have scored similar if I studied. Failed the physical tho cause of back, and neck issues.
I got a 98, went Geospatial and fucking hated every second of it. Don't join the Army kids, Air Force or Coast Guard. The jokes at your expense are worth the million times better experience you'll have.
I knew a couple girls who got 98s or 99s, both brilliant people. I got a 92 and my friends got 96 and 95, couldn’t believe some people don’t have the basic knowledge to pass that thing.
@@yaboi814 no bro that’s my point, I’m dumb as rocks and got a 92 while the kid who got into West Point was pissed that i beat his 91. I’m saying the test is dumb, not that I’m smart.
I was lucky I took my test not long after leaving school, so the math was still fresh in my memory. If I was to take the test again today, there’s no way I’d get a good score. I haven’t used that math since.
I got a 97 on the pretest and destroyed the main test. They wanted me to pick crazy jobs but I chose to be an airborne medic. Great choice. God bless everyone who serves, regardless. Hooah!!!!!!
Scored a 96, went on to score a 116 on the DLAB and became an A8x1 in the USAF, but this guy with his 20 became a bigger legend than I. Food for thought.
I got a 73 trying to get in the army they told me I needed to get an 80 to an 85 if I remember correctly. Where I might have got a 69 and it needed to be 73. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong please. It was 15 years ago
97, hated myself for trying afterwords because like 3 days later I got a call from some lady with a very attractive voice on behalf of the air force (they knew what they were doing dammit), this all sounds fine until you factor in that the call was at like 8:30am, ffs I did not want to be woke up
Scored an 89 on my second attempt at meps when i was 17 after scoring a 72 when i was 16. I went there for navy but an air force guy tried to poach me lol.
Everyone in the comments is saying they got a 90 something. Math doesn’t add up considering the asvab is scaled on general intelligence vs gen pop. 50 being average
All the people who got a 50 don't want to speak up, lol. That said, 18 is shockingly bad. Like, "This person probably shouldn't go outside without supervision" bad.
Exactly, the average is 50 so what are the chances of getting a 90? Apparently high because 80% of the comments are saying they have a score higher then 90😂
What's this the system works...? I got a 93 and I've been in special Ed classes all growing up went into the navy then was kicked out because of my eye lol 😆
I got an 86 and I was average level classes (phase 3 out of a scale of 1-5) There was a couple guys in the phase 5 classes that struggled to get to 32 They were raving about another guy who got a 76 like he was the 2nd coming of Albert Einstein and Nikola Tesla LOL My 86 ASVAB score was one of the lowest in my platoon in basic combat training as well LOL
First time I ever took the asvab I scored a 42, i needed a 65 because I don’t have a highschool education, been studying gonna take my asvab in a few months, I’m the same as goggins I want to do Pararescue.
My junior year of high school my art teacher told me about the test the day before they were taking it, sure enough I just went because I didn’t see any harm in doing so, got a 79 without studying or anything and here I am now having recently graduated (CO22) and I’m heading to meps in 2 days
@@joebone3151 Sure, just like the SAT is different every time for a reason. Just because you can't look up and memorize the answer sheet doesn't mean that you can't study for the test. I took the ASVAB, got a 99. Have you taken it?
It’s a fucking high school equivalency test Goggins. Jesus. 🤣🤣🤣 It adds electronics, auto, and shop information as well as a mechanical comprehension section.
That asvab test was pretty easy though. I got a 50/50 on the practice from the Marines office and a 95/100 on the actual test. Not trying to stroke my own ego, but I never thought it was rocket science.
I got a 54 first time without studying. I took another one after 2 weeks in a classroom studing asvab material with a teacher and got a 69. Study! I wonder what I would have got if I studied for a month!
I scored an 82 but needed to many waivers since I was arrested for D.U.I at 19 an I was also charged with disorderly conduct an resisting arrest. The recruiter was so happy about my score but then my background check comes back an the recruiter quits calling me when he was calling me multiple times daily. I waited about a week and still no call so I call his office and he tells me the disorderly conduct an resisting arrest are looked at worse then the D.U.I , something about it shows lack of impulse control and each charge needed a waiver with 2 waivers being the max unless you have a unique situation. So I wasted my whole summer trying to get into any branch or the reserves but no luck so I guess it wasn't meant to be. Sux because I'm the only male in my family that didn't serve.
It’s a mental thing I took it once got a 33 the bare minimum for infantry so I said nah I retook it got a 92 and still let my recruiter talk me into the 11 bang bangs but I’m glad he did, WHYS THE SKY BLUE???
Nah ASVAB is so much harder than we give it credit for. It’s the fact we can’t use calculators unlike college and high school tests. 🤣 I’m studying as we speak.
I took the ASVAB twice, the first time I took it, I got an 80 something, and this time I got a 66, and I didn't know how it was scored. So, I talked to the recruiter yesterday and found out that I can pick ANY job I want in the army. I thought he was full of shit, then I found out that I actually COULD pick any job I wanted cause my score was high enough (almost 3x the minimum requirement for each job)
