You need to go back and listen to this performance again within this context: David was recording not one, but TWO live concert videos that night in Birmingham. He sang for over four hours and if memory serves me right, 31 songs ( one of them twice due to some technical difficulties.) The End of the Beginning was the LAST song. He held nothing back on each song, but his voice got only stronger as the night went on. So impressive. I’m still in awe of what I saw that night, 16 years ago this month, and I can’t watch this recording without thinking about that.

David Phelps is a phenomenon in Christ! That talent & Gift, comes straight from God! Our God is no respecter of persons, but he sure “poured it on David”, 😁 to sing for the glory of God & bless the hearts of countless people in a special “ mighty” way!! We love you David! And thank Jesus for your songs! 🙏

When my son was 2 he would sit in front of the TV with his microphone, drum sticks and guitar and do that entire concert with David. Some of my favorite memories.

I heard David sing this for the first time when he first came out with the song. He was singing with the GVB at a coliseum in Fayetteville, NC. Aside from the amazing lyrics, he blew the roof off that place, and I've been a fan ever since. It was the first time I had seen GVB live. I was also privileged to meet and talk to David at his table afterward. He is genuinely a down-to-earth guy.

Well since Austin Brown and David both have issues with remembering the words, they would blend right together and I would love to hear the two of them sing together, it would just be totally Awesome!!!

I love this song. It's also my mom's favorite. David is just incredible. Have you done "Already There"? It was one of the ones in the intro of this video, made me think of it... hard to keep track of which ones you've done and haven't done. Love it! Oh, I know it's early, but time is FLYING as you said, for Christmas you should do David's "Mary Did You Know"... not sure if there's a live performance on the tube, but his recorded version on his first Christmas album "Joy, Joy" is very powerful.
