In this episode I'm joined by Phil Costa to talk about Arsenal's 0-0 draw with Atalanta on Thursday night. We discuss the difficulty of playing against the Italian side, especially in a week where this is the second of three very tough away games, but also conclude that we could have done more on the ball. We also chat about a lack of creativity without Martin Odegaard, Thomas Partey's penalty concession and David Raya's superb save which helped save a point. There's also some focus on Gabriel Martinelli who missed a big chance to score, and lots more.

We missed Zinchenko more than we did Odegaard. We couldn't pass the ball through the middle third. Timber inverting doesn't seem to impact the midfield as expected.

David Raya is blowing everyone away right now, like I knew he was a pretty good keeper but he's making a case for being one of the top keepers, especially after the golden glove award for last season too. Tbh I'm not overly worried by this game. We always kinda under-perform in Europe, it'll likely take a few seasons to really gain the experience of it all for our players. Last year was the first year for a lot of our players in the CL and it's a different game to the premier league. It's not necessarily "harder" than the premier league, but it's different. I reckon we take the point and take the game experience.

Really worried about ode injury...we can't play "haramball" every game...lacking creativity from midfield , without our main playmaker

I think Havertz is great up top, but I don't like it when he's in midfield. He thrives more in the final third of the pitch but is far less effective in the midfield, I feel. In fairness, I don't think Arteta would play him in midfield if we had other options available, though.

When someone says what an Arteta player does i.e. Martinelli isn't by direct I structure have what the game see Arteta give those exact I structure is a sensationalist and shouldn't be on the show unless he improves is vision.
