Rarely do you see an LDS person who goes into the Music business or Hollywood and still stay true to the church and go on a mission...... what an amazing person and great example he his
I'm so proud of you David and for the fans to accept your mission. I'm so happy that you followed your calling to serve others. Now that you are back I don't care whether you relase a song, post vlogs, or do more acting. All I can say is that you should do that makes you happy because that will make me happy. You are an incredible, genuine, and sweet human being. Ever since you came back you never stopped serving the Morman church and that just shows how awesome you really are. So cool! What a great example to all young men & women struggling with the decision if they should serve or not. Nothing is too big of a sacrifice to serve the Lord! We'll definitely be seeing an increase in female teenage converts in the next 2 years ;-)
This is a five year late reply but same! My heart melted when I saw him start crying! At first I thought that he was embarrassed but then I heard his voice start to crack! I love him so much ❤️
Aww this is so cute ❤️❤️ I’m so glad he decided to serve a mission in Chile all those years ago ❤️ I’m so glad he felt the spirit there because crying proves that the spirit told him that he was making a wonderful choice ❤️ I thought the audience was kinda rude when he was trying to talk and they kept on screaming. I’m so glad he is a LDS cause I am too ❤️

I am so grateful I was able to meet you on Sunday at the home of my brother, who is suffering from stage 4 cancer. You sang "Oh Holy Night" to him and it lifted his spirits so much. I am so happy. Thank you for sharing this good news. You are doing the right thing. I'm a convert and now I have a husband that I was married in the temple to, children, a son-in-law and a grandson. Families are forever and spending forever with them and having Jesus as my savior are all I need for Christmas.
This is my first time watching this since David made his announcement, which i was blessed to hear live.I literally jumped up clapping and cheering for David as I always felt this is something that David would 1 day pursue because I felt it was something that was very important to him and I knew that his fans would support him...how can you not support someone that is teaching us all to follow our heart..follow your dreams... We now need to let David follow his...and be there when he returns...
It's so amazing to see his reaction and hear the audiences support. How could you not be happy for him when he is so happy with himself and the choices he has made. I have my doubts about the church sometimes but when you see the reactions of others that believe completely in the church my heart just feels lifted. How can you not want to believe the same thing when you see what happiness it brings people? David has taught me more in three minutes then I have learned in months.
He will be such a great missionary and I am so impressed that he made the decision to serve when he has every excuse not to. He seems like such a humble person and I think he'll change a lot of lives for good. The world needs more of the message that he'll be sharing!!! I have great respect for David for loving God and for trying to live his beliefs the best he can, even if they are not my beliefs. His courage and integrity are amazing. He is one of the kindest, most respectful, and humble people you could find in this world. He follows his heart because that is the kind of person he is and God will bless him for that. He WILL come home and do music because that is such a part of him forever, and he loves it
I feel bad that there are people out there who can say something rude after watching this expression of pure, heartfelt, joy. David's got something special, and he feels it to the core. I can't believe he is actually crying because he always has that wonderfully beautiful incredible smile plaster to his face and i really hope that his mission will be life changing for him and for those people he teaches. He has such a sweet spirit with him. i will miss him and his music but he has already changed my life for the better. His career in music might be ending but he will always live on through his music words and examples. I wish everyone could be as good of an example as David.

i truly admire this young man (i'm a catholic btw) how many artists can set aside their music career even if just for 2 years just to serve the Lord......David is one of those few and that is so cool......I know that God will reward him to even greater heights when he comes back.......even though fans are fickle minded but he will not be forgotten.....heck...he will just be only 23 when he comes back and will be just as great as ever......David's freely answer to his calling

To me...ita not throwing away his career. He is doing something that will make him happy and will strengthen him in ways that people who dont understand what it means to someone who is dedicated to such a commitment. I support you David. With David's career and all, i can imagine it would've been tougher. But I believe he has to do what he has to. In my opinion, he has set his priority right. It really tells a lot about him... thats how FAITH in GOD works... people may call us Mormons as Morons but let them call us as one,. I know Jesus is the Christ and that Missionary Work is vital for everyone's salvation and that Elder Archuleta is going to help a lot of souls bring back to his presence. The voice left for a bit and when the voice stopped his music wan'ts there. It came back, a double blessing and a special inner understanding is with him. David and another great singer in England Joe Mcelderry X factor champ 09 are two young guys class acts and thier journey in life will be movies winning Academy Awards as we watch

A while ago, a return missionary in my ward told me& my mom that the presidency said you couldnt go on a mission and you wanted to. i dont know if thats true but we were heartbroken. and now I'm so happy for you that you can do this. My brother absolutly loved his mission and said it was pretty much one of the greatest things in his life and i hope that it's the same for you. My heart goes out to you as well as my prayers. I heard about David's announcement and I am happy he is chosen a path that will lead him to a great journey. Though I am a bit sadden to hear because like all little girls, we go through lots of celebrity crushes and before we realize it they pass us sooner then we think. And maybe down 10 or 30 years he'll go back to touring and I'll be those old married mothers and tell my kids that man I was obsessed with that guy. LOL!!
