Dawn's Recent Rusty Judgment! 

Well….you know what this proves? Dawn’s human and doesn’t sweat the small stuff. Dawn and Adeline dominate another project! All of your family are doing great! Note: Maybe someday Corbin will have his own channel. That boy is a born leader and he could teach kids of all ages that kids can truly make a difference. ❤. Yep. We were painting the walls for my husbands mothers rent house. One gallon of paint on the carpet with little plastic on it. We were sliding the plastic and the whole can spilled. We had to replace her carpet too. It happens. A funny one was when we were painting a rusty shed. The two year old was playing in the yard. We turned around to find he had painted his face, arms and legs with brown oil based paint. You will laugh about it in the future.

I am the daughter of a woman who offloaded 8 gallons of AVOCADO paint behind the car, forgot immediately, and drove backwards over all of it. I would have dumped the whole can, Dawn, myself….I got on Rusty Judgment 2 hours after you posted: 40 k🎉 Congrats

Dawn, my dream efficient home has the master closet on the other side of the laundry room. The wall shared between them has cubbies above waist high with bins to hold clothes and linens. The laundry room side has doors to close away the cubbies (the doors are the back wall for the cubbies from the closet side) so you can close the doors and can't see through. BUT, you can open the doors and directly from the laundry room, put your clean clothes in the bins in your closet. The lower half of the wall has sliding hampers for dirty clothes. Put dirty clothes in on the closet side, and then slide them out to put into the washer on the laundry room side. :)

My favorite thing about Mr. Rogers was that he made making mistakes and not being perfect ok, and one of his puppets looked like her nose was burned and she was treated with respect. I like Tom's be kind shirt and both of you doing so much so well but not afraid to try new things even when sometimes things go wrong, and taking mistakes with a grain of salt or even laughing about it. I'm actually a recent Milwaukee convert. I got my own battery string trimmer this year! The battery is great and I promise myself to use up one charge when I get started. It's nice to have a legitimate time I can quit, haha. It is a good weight and balance for me, a 65 yo woman, which is why I don't use my husband's larger gas weed whacker. Giving away a Milwaukee is a great choice, and thanks for that. I'm commenting 5 hours after the live stream and you're past 40K, so, yay!

Watching your video has become a part of my Friday after work routine! I like watching the progression of your renovations. It's a different take from the one-hour TV show where they get it done from start to finish and that's the beauty of RU-vid versus TV

When we moved to our recent home about 15 years ago I left my partner and his brother alone in the appartment and went out for a short time... While I was gone they "succed" in getting a huuuuuuge bucket of seeling paint on the livingroom floor.... I am pretty happy I insisted on us covering the pretty wood! floor really good with overlapping taped down brown paper before we started painting. They scooped up nearly all paint with pieces of cardboard and saved both floor and paint. Things happen... as long as nobody gets hurt.

Georgia weather is amazing!! The kids play outside most of the winter. We have very few days too cold to play outside. And when I say “play outside” we don’t even own snow or winter gear. We’re playing outside with just regular clothes a coat lol 😂oh and no hurricanes here like Florida. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Trying to move the ladder with the can of paint on it sounds like something I would di. But I have an even better painting story . . . When I was a teen, my older sister and I decided we wanted to paint our bedroom. Our parents were ok with that, so we moved the furniture away from the walls and put down a plastic drop cloth and went to work. I was working barefooted and I guess my sister was too. We weren't the neatest painters, so the drop cloth was doing its job well. After a while, we were stepping in the paint splatters on the drop cloth and not too happy to be getting the paint on our feet. So, we had a brilliant idea . . .turn over the drop cloth. We proceeded to do that. I don't recall when we realized the "unforeseen consequences," but fortunately, our floor was tile, so we spent a lot of time cleaning the floor. We ended up with a freshly painted bedroom with a very clean floor. I'm not sure why our family has never let the 2 of us paint together since then!

Hi Tom. I've been subscribed since the beginning. So, Im one of the reasons you are close to 40,000. And a Leaf Blower would be nice. I like that you post every Friday now and its about the "The To Do List" . If you don’t have a project completed, that's where you're at. Don't not post because everything isn't perfect. The name of your Channel is, "Rusty Judgment" so it's fine not to have everything done, LOL. Before the accident when I could paint, I was always careful when standing on a ladder, I never had a can of paint on the ladder. If I was cutting the edges I put some paint in a smaller container and used a rubberband for making sure the paint didn't drip. If I was using a roller, I used an extension pole and added the roller, so it could reach the cut in area. I always enjoy the Team work Live Videos😊

Your paint spill story made me smile, reminds me of all the "accidents" that continually happens to me. Husband always smiles and wisely says nothing.

I missed the livestream, but I always enjoy Rusty Judgement and The Minimal Mom.

I once moved a 9’ ladder, forgetting about the can of paint on top of it. It fell off, hit me in the head, dumped paint from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. I was outside thank goodness. Ran in and cleaned up. Went back outside. It was a windy day. The same ladder blew over and hit me in the head. I had blood streaming down my face and neck. It put a nice crease in the skin. No stitches required. Also had a paint tray sitting on the floor. My 2 labs came running through the house and knocked the paint tray over. The phone was ringing. It was a good friend I hadn’t talked to in a while. I grabbed my little carpet cleaner and was running it over the paint spot the entire time I was talking on the phone. Many years later. I pulled the carpet out and there wasn’t a hint of the paint spill.

I love this! Sorry, Dawn, but I'd move the paint can before trying to move the ladder. I've learned that lesson, myself! 😮

My nephew has worked for Milwaukee Tools for many years. My brother, a master woodworker, has benefited from that often over the years. Lucky boys!

I highly recommend concentrated Simple Green. It gets dried acrylic paint out of fabrics and hard surfaces .I find letting it soak overnight works best. It appears to soften the paint.

Our friends and children helped us remodel a home we were living in and it is our rental property. We had some “oopsies” ourselves, but the memories of the transformation process are so precious to me!

I moved a ladder with a paint tray attached to it and spilled it all over my Mom’s dining room carpeting. She didn’t yell but when I tried to help clean my mess up she calmly asked me to leave. Ugggg That made me feel even worse. Love watching you guys and both your channels!

I feel for you. We recently spilt a gallon of paint while painting our ceiling. The bedroom carpet was two weeks old! I grabbed the shop vac and got started cleaning up while my wife ran to rent a carpet cleaner. It all come up enough that you can’t tell it happened. Bless you !
