I’m from Ireland, we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving and I have never tried most of the foods you discussed. While in USA this October I tried pumpkin pie. I didn’t like it. Soup flavour in a pie, yeuck! What struck me most in this video is Tom admitting he wasn’t brought up in the Waltons way, it’s amazing he turned out so well. I’m not disrespecting his upbringing but sometimes (I’ve issues due to upbringing) I look from the outside in and make assumptions about others advantages. Good for being honest, very relatable. 😀
I love Dawn’s comment about gaining her confidence from her dad allowing her to do things around the farm. I spent weekends and summer with my grandparents and I learned to drive tractors, spark a welding torch and shoot a gun when I was very young. Love the feelings it gave me, especially as a young girl. I think we are doing a disservice to kids today by not letting/making them work/ try new things for fear they might mess up or get hurt. That’s how they learn!!!
I’m with Tom on the football or Macy’s parade. Don’t care for either of them. Sorry, but apple pie for me. Definitely stuffing. Don’t do either Black Friday or cyber Monday. Cranberry sauce. Brown gravy. Both on the potatoes.

I was married 54+ years before hubby passed. We were complete opposites. We agreed on the big stuff - values etc. The rest made life interesting. Yes variety is the spice of life and a long marriage. Opposites teach you how to compromise, agree to disagree and pick your battles wisely.

Sometimes headaches/migraines are due to a need for more magnesium. Try taking 2 fish oil tabs w/headaches - it thins the blood a bit to allow better blood flow in brain’s swollen blood vessels, which occurs w/headaches and migraines. Happy Thanksgiving! Hope u Feel Better
I love how different you guys are. My husband and I are pretty much opposites as well and it has worked for 43yrs, so yeah opposites do attract.❤ Oh yeah, and sweet potato casserole for me and mashed potatoes for the hubby.😂

Oh we are opposites! Fifty year anniversary in a few months. Keeps it interesting, but there are some days…… Tom I have had migraines my whole life 13 yr - 70 yr. Several a month. Best treatment was Botox, but expensive, Chinese medicine acupuncture was great, now I use nasal spray usually works in 30 min - 45 min.
I always loved when my grandpa asked did I want to drive the truck or tractor when we needed to get a tractor to the next hayfield. ☺️ I loved growing up on a farm.

Roasted root vegies with some yams included. Mashed potatoes with my mom's yummy gravy! It is always way too cold and snowy for football outside here in Idaho on Thanksgiving. We have a very large family (Mom has 24 great grandchildren) so we eat, visit, play with the littles and enjoy each other's family and storytelling. Wishing your family, a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Although I completely enjoyed today, I am soooo happy that the day is over!!!! The food shopping, prep, cleaning and I am exhausted!!! Finally sitting down now after going full force for the last four days. Enjoying admiring theChristmas tree being up which has been a tradition since the pandemic.
I really want to give my daughters that experience of being trusted to do things. I think the lawnmower is the closest we have to heavy equipment though 😄

What a treat for Thanksgiving Day since I did not get up in time to watch the parade - LOL. It's really good to have you do a live together. I am so happy that you have gotten so much done Tom. How did the garden go this year? Do you still have chicks? Do you still respite foster care. I am excited to see the cracked house and property and the farm house too. Dawn I love the picture behind you. Tom, are your parents alive? How many siblings do you have? Tradition - Thanksgiving Day Turkey, football and nap (could be at the same time). Hello Dawn and Tom! Happy Thanksgiving to both of you and to your family! I'm watching you on Friday 11/24/23. We have 50 chickens 1 Rooster named Benedict and 1 male turkey named Louie. He was raised with the chickens and hangs with them constantly! Thank you for sharing your T-Day with all of us! We had both mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes with our T-Day dinner! Love you all!!❤❤
Went to my daughters this year and just brought costco pumpkin pie and green bean casserole. First in over 40 years I did not cook and host....whoo hoo!!! It was delish too! Happy Thanksgiving, enjoy your family time.
We have a small house and didn’t have a place for the kids to go play either. I used to not like that but now that the kids are older, I’m so appreciative that we were in a way forced to be together.
