Well, that's the issue. There's no finding another way. Unless you literally either find a way to literally bend the fabric of space-time in some way (which is like 99% impossible at the very best chances) there is no "faster than the speed of light". If it takes light 42 years to get from one place to another, it will take us *at least* 42 years to get there, and probably longer since trying to move close to the speed of light while navigating would have issues. After all, we require light to see, and it becomes hard to see objects that you might wanna avoid if the view is becoming distorted from light hitting yiu wrreid due to your own rate of travel. Think motion blur, but on an insane level.

4:24 I mean, the thing about space is that vast majority of it is just... empty space. Like, unbelievably vast and empty. Our human brain actually literally can't comprehend how big and empty it is Like, for example, all those scenes in sci-fi about going through an asteroid belt and flying through all the rocks? In reality if you'd travel through an asteroid belt you'd probably not even notice it. You'd have to be EXTREMELY (un)lucky to hit even a single one, even flying completely blind. Even just getting close enough to see one with your bare eyes would be so unlikely as to barely ever happen And that is the asteroid belt, which is relatively crowded when it comes to space So yeah, it is astronomically unlikely that there would be anything important in the way, and if there were, they would probably notice it and just... not hit it. With how everything is moving you'd just need to wait a day or so and then it isn't in the way anymore afterall
