Welcome to day 13 of the Kundalini Yoga Weight Loss Challenge with Mariya Gancheva! This Kriya will release tension and remove nervousness, it will also deeply relax you in both physical and mental realms. It works on the upper triangle of chakras and stimulates the thyroid and parathyroid glands responsible for your metabolism. The set is not difficult but is very effective as it stimulates the glands and utilizes pranyam, or conscious breathing.

Day 13 Complete. The alternating nostril fire breath was easier than I thought it would be... actually the boat was too. This practice is definitely making me stronger :)

I have heard from other teachers you should avoid difficult physical activity during the first 3 days of your period since your body is working hard already, and that if you do choose to practice kundalini yoga during your period you should take it easy and avoid 'breath of fire' and do long deep breathing instead
