Keep drawing us to You Lord. Without Your Presence there’s no joy in serving You. There’s no way we can serve You or hear You when You speak to us without it! Help us focus on You and to still our minds even in the chaos. May our eyes be full of your light so that our bodies will be also, so that our lives can bring glory to the Father. Thank You for loving us Lord. Thank You for transforming our hearts as we sit, meditate and saturate our brains, mind and hearts in Your Word. Your Word is TRUTH and Your promises are YES and AMEN!!🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽🎊🎊 Love to everyone here❤️❤️❤️❤️

Today I was really reminded how God is God and not some genie in a bottle. So many times as we pray and believe for things in this life but they don’t come to pass and that’s OK. I think of David and how close he was to God. In fact a man after Gods own heart following after His will, yet God chose Solomon to build His temple NOT David as he had asked to. God will do exactly what He wants to do and I will praise Him anyway. He is God and He is MY GOD 🙌

The repetition and pattern of Ps 136 tells us something about the way God’s love works with us, His people. First, it might be that this is the Psalm that the priests and people sang at 2 Chron 7:3 when God’s fire fell and His heavy glory filled the Temple. The priests call out God’s character and His actions, and the people echo back, “His faithful love endures forever.” But notice how Ps 136 progresses in its revelation of God: He is good and greater than all others (Ps 136:1-4). And we respond to His greatness, “His faithful love endures forever.” Then, we acknowledge His creation (Ps 136:5-9), and we respond again, “His faithful love endures forever.” Then the Psalmist walks us through His victory over Egypt, God’s enemies (which leads to Israel’s inheritance), and His unending provision. We see what He does, throughout history and our lives, in the good times and the tragic, and our response is always the same: “His faithful love endures forever.” All the walls of a canyon can do is echo what is spoken into existence, and all we have to give back to God’s character, His power, His gifts, and His provision is the same Thanksgiving-that He is faithful, and loving, forever and ever.

2 Chronicles 6: 36-39 really stood out to me, along with 2 Chronicles 7: 13-14. It is not a matter of "if" we sin, but that we "will" sin. We are all sinners. We all fall short of God's glory (Romans 3: 23). But, these passages remind us of what we need to do in order to be forgiven. REPENT. God knows our hearts, and if we turn from our sins and turn our faces back toward God, He will hear us and forgive us. If we confess our sins, He (Yahweh, the Lord) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1: 9). God is faithful. His grace and mercy are made new every morning. His steadfast love endures forever (Psalm 136). Praise His holy name! He's where the joy is! And thank you, Tara-Leigh, for the reminder that good desires and God's "no" can coexist.

I love that God knows what's in my heart. The good. The bad. The ugly. The motives. I love that He still loves me, He forgives me, and His perfect presence is here in the midst of wickedness. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever. Sing praise, my friends! Have a blessed day!

When God came to Solomon, He covered all of the future sins Solomon would do- praying to other gods, ignoring Gods directives, and acquiring more horses, on and on. Rebellion of the Israelites. Solomon prayed so humblly and eloquently. Then it did go down hill.

God is merciful even in tragedy that He allows. If I had His knowledge, I would always choose to avoid it, and then I’d have missed out on the blessing and the life-giving that He mercifully provides before and after the tragedy. Even in the worst moments, “His faithful love endures forever.”

Your thoughts about us preferring to imagine God as being furious about everything without a lot of data to back it up, really struck home for me today. I think we tend to put the face of prominent people in our life, especially our fathers, onto the face of God. That’s not who He is.

The last 2 days TLC said it's not God's plan to dwell in the temple forever, that He never said this, which we see now of course He doesn't do, but in His response in 7:15-16 He does confirm this. ? I like what was pointed out about God using lightening, rain etc for good mostly. Whatever the reason, let's keep praising Him and seeking His forgiveness and mercy!

My thoughts: He said His NAME would be there, his eyes and heart too. God is omnipresent, everywhere. Even Solomon said the temple can’t contain Him. In my mind, I think of my home. “Home is where the heart is.” It’s where we live, rest, and people can come to visit. I think people thought of God residing in His temple, which He did and didn’t because He is indeed everywhere. The temple was a place to visit, worship God, even though He is everywhere. Even today, people still go to Israel/Jerusalem to see remnants of the temple structure. Hope that helps. “For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my NAME may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time.” ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭7‬:‭16‬ ‭ESV‬ ““But will God indeed dwell with man on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you, how much less this house that I have built!” ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭6‬:‭18‬ ‭ESV‬‬

When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled it. So Solomon observed the festival at that time for seven days, and all Israel with him-a vast assembly, people from Lebo Hamath to the Wadi of Egypt. the Lord appeared to him at night and said: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices. “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there. 2 Chronicles 7:1‭-‬2‭, ‬8‭, ‬12‭-‬16

It’s important to pay attention to context and to the IF statements. IF Israel obeys all of Gods commands, THEN a descendant of David will always be on the throne. Spoiler alert: Ancient Israelites did not obey God’s commands. They betrayed God with idolatry. Many times.

Respectfully, I do disagree with the commentary on 1 Chronicles 7:14. I believe this is a prayer that can be applicable to other nations today. One, God would not turn anyone away who is willing to repent of their sins and turn to Him , the one and only true God. I also think this prayer is similar God's admonishment to Nineveh when He sent Jonah to tell them to repent. Nineveh was a pagan nation; they were not serving the one true God, and yet, God was just as concerned about their wickedness and turning from it as He is to any other country that needs to do likewise. I often pray this prayer for America, because I believe we have truly lost our way and if we as Christians prayed that prayer in earnest and humility, I believe God would hear and heal our land as we turn our hearts back to Him. I'm not saying that we don't have true Christians and worshipers of God, but much of what I see and hear going on in the church today is antithetical to God's word and, in my humble opinion, I believe we need to repent. God says the judgment is going to start first amongst His people so it would behoove us to take a look at ourselves.

2Chr. 7:17-18 Jeshua is the son of David who is ruler over His people forever! We are adopted into the family of Israel through Abraham, the father of all the tribes including David. Therefore this scripture definitely applies to us! (We are sons & daughters of Israel, but we are not Jews because they are descended from the tribe of Judah.)
