Welcome to Day 33 of the 40-Day Kundalini Yoga Weight Loss Challenge with Mariya Gancheva! Today we'll do a kriya called "Stress Set" for the adrenals and kidneys. This will help balance out our stress levels while also detoxifying the liver and kidneys. High stress and a lack of detoxification can contribute to us carrying unwanted weight on our bodies, so this is very important work! This kriya is very dynamic without much resting in between and most of the exercises are pretty intense, so if at any point, you feel that you need to take a rest, please listen to your body and do so, and join back up when you feel better. :)

Hi Mariya Thanks for your welcoming easy manner. I felt you holding the space. I noticed a few differences between what you do and the manual: first the manual says to maintain the pinky mudra while doing the O breath. Second the it says palm on back faces outward during har (which is really pronounced HUD) Third, though this isn't super clear in the manual, after body drops - beautifully done btw - the hands are supposed to be in front of rather than touching the solar plexus. Not only do I feel relaxed, I feel more grounded and balanced. Yesterday was a tough day of ups and downs, but today after this, I feel my feet underneath me with my heart still open. This feels like a good one to return to in times of great stress!

Love that it got me moving without being strenuous. Nice music too. I've done all the videos of the series so far (but skipping days sometimes) and I started to loose the rest of my baby weight without feeling like I was working at it.

Day 33 done. Loved this practice. I will rest now. I'm so glad I'm following this challenge. It's hard for me to actually lose weight, but I am healthy and that's what matters now during quarantine due to covid.

I feel so awesome at the end of this! It’s a miracle how much more alive I feel after doing these Kriyas. The body is taking me on a journey and we get to a very blissful state. I look forward to being able to doing the body drops with my legs in lotus position and actually lift my butt off the ground!

Sat Nam - great video I think the breathing in exc1 is reversed: inhale stretch out, exhale hit the base of the hands lightly in front of the chest?

Sat nam. I have a question when you chant the har mantra you say that the tongue should hit the palate, but when I say it the tongue doesn't., so should I make a effort to make sure my tongue hits the palate on each har?

Nina, i am sure you've figured this out by now, but it is "har" with the "r" sounding like the soft "t" in "Kitty" ... the tip of the tongue lightly touches the roof of the mouth /upper palate behind the front teeth. Think "kitty". Sat Nam.

This is the same routine and in the same order from maya fiennes DVD detox and distress.. I'm curious is that the order that things must be done in because that will explain why your routine is like hers?

Amena Rahman sat nam. This is a Kriya given by yogi Bhajan and it is specific in terms of postures and timings. Whoever teaches it will do it in the same way as this is how kundalini yoga works. Everything is specific and defined. It is is a science and we follow it with precision in order to achieve the results. These Kriyas are thousands of years old. I would recommend if you are interested in learning more, to sign up for the free beginner series which will introduce you to the kundalini origins and tools. Hope this helps, blessings, mariya
