I live about 30 minutes away from Steve and enjoy his content. I do the Canadian Tire thing a lot Lol. A & W are everywhere, not sure why but I remember as a kid going to our local A & W and the waitresses came to your car window and took your order and then brought your food to your car. Cheers.

I remember those, use to be lots of mom & pop dairy bars did it. Carhops we call them. We still have one chain restaurant, Sonic, that uses them. Some even roller skate 🛼

So glad to see the latest. I was getting worried. What I loved the most about it was going through the towns. SO interesting! Not just trees and snow. Thank you! But this old Alabama girl is glad you are going where it snows and I'm not! Stay safe!

Thank you for the concern and joining us. We are safe. The roads are turning to snow covered and ice but Craig is an experienced driver. These next few videos are a bit delayed. There just isn’t good enough cell service or WiFi to get them uploaded. Rest assured, we will get them out asap.

Thanks for the scenic Video...I don't know how you can go 800 miles a day (if I heard that correct)....You two spend the money & we enjoy seeing different States & Countries ...I have been to Canada but the side of Michigan...I have been to most of the States on the East Coast.....I watch Camping with Steve...I watch many from Alaska....I don't like snow or the cold*go figure....I live in Michigan...The caterpillar was correct this year *starts out harsh*mild for the long stretch*ends harsh...We are on our way to Spring.....

Yes!!!! Travel lap pillow. I can't drive over 3 hours without one. Keeps my elbows from getting sore. A&W in Canada is a different company than A&W in the US. Forget the details but they do have slightly different signs/logos also. I was suprised by the same thing when we drove up the ACAN. And the Canadian A&W (at least the one I visited) didn't have ice for the soda. Didn't find the food to be anything special in my opinion.

Wow that was a knuckle breaker at the end😮. Glad you are safe. We drove th hwy every 5 yrs to see family. You're Probably home by now. Enjoying the ride along. Last time on the Alcan was in 1999. We had just retired bought a '99 Ford f250 and 29 ft Coachman trailer. Spent 3 months on the road and landed in Boise in Oct. Where 7 yrs later my husband passed away. It was his dream to be in a wamer climate, golf and travel. That disn't work out as planned exactly. I hope I can do the Alcan one more time at least. Miss those Black Spruce trees and beautiful scenery. Don't like this high desert. Actually looking for a place to come home to❤. Be safe.

A&W is everywhere here in British Columbia and although we don’t do a lot of take out restaurants my husband loves to go there for their breakfast as they offer a full home style one with eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and toast at a reasonable price. For him it is the most similar to home. Just thought you’d like to know in case you want to try it. Have safe travels back.

Hiya folks. Tis always such a pleasure to travel along with your easygoing styitude to life. I always feel welcome; just like hopping in with famìly or bff, sitting back and enjoying the scenery and convo. For a nearly 70 , Kiwi born and farm raised ,the middle kid of 7 ,in the cold Sth.Otago NZ ( nothing like Canada/Alaska COLD) now after 25yrs living on disability pension from a lower back injury /degeneration of the spine/sciatic nerve left leg .... I can assure you I have no hope of experiencing any of the beauty you share firsthand. So be assured I treasure every moment I spend in your presence .... whether in or out of your vehicles. You are such easy folks to be around no matter which State /Country you're in 👏👏👏 There's such an ease of Spirit with you both that I feel right at home with ya both, even tho I'm miles away... in the outer suburbs of a li'l old town called Ipswich , a half hr drive WSW from our States Capital of Brisbane Queensland Australia . OH and being Sthn Hemisphere we're in the throws of an unbearably gross stinking HOT n HUMID summer. Sweltering in 100°F plus with the worse humidity I've ever felt in nearly 50yrs here !!!!! Just imagining the snow youŕe in is mental relief. So keep it coming my friends as I send prayers for safe travels and more of the Almighty Creators glorious artwork in the sunrise/sunset /aurora skies. Much love & blessings as we serve Him first & foremost & everything else will simply fall into its allotted place. "How lovely on the mountains are the feet of Him who brings good news, announcing peace, proclaiming news of happiness. Our GOD reigns Our GOD reigns Isaiah 52:7 (paraphrased by me) 🇦🇺🤗🙏💞👍👌✌️👏🇺🇸

I like A&W for their burgers, root beer and floats however their burgers have shrunk in size. Love Canadian Tire here in London Ontario their reasonably priced have everything you are looking for , and more hunting fishing exercice stuff ..., They put to much gravy and not enough cheese curd on that poutine, Cochrane ontario has the best. ( *Poutine has fries, cheese curds and gravy) * NOT meat* .They screwed up. "sorry you didn't get to experience the real". (I am from London Ontario, Canada).Enjoying your trip back home awesome views , sunrise, sunsets Nice little motel cabin for a great nights sleep.

Canadian A&W is not the same as A&W in the states. I was very disappointed when I was driving from Edmonton to Mexico and stopped at an American A&W. And you could have had poutine at A&W. 😃

We do carry an extra fuel can for the truck. It takes diesel though(yellow can) so the red ones wouldn’t be of help for the trip. Definitely best to be over prepared. We have had to use our extra can when two of the fuel stations were unexpectedly closed.

Does Canada require you to have covid vax to enter still?
@ouralaskahomestead
@ouralaskahomestead 5 месяцев назад
No. We’ve crossed every year since Covid. There were a bunch of restrictions for awhile. Only allowed to drive straight through for “essential” travel, no sightseeing or going into businesses, c19 testing but that ended 10/22 I think.
