So nice to see bare ground again in some places! .. a fabulous video of the ocean the sights and sounds of cresting waves on the shore immediately took me back to my childhood where I grew up on the east coast ocean ..temporally stuck in central Kentucky but planning on returning to my beloved ocean soon.. Thanks for a peaceful video..chickens coming soon did I hear. 😘

We’ve yet to go fishing. Hoping to get out a few times this summer and learn a bit more about it. One of our other neighbors brought pink and white winter king steaks to us last year and they are delicious eating. Completely different then farmed stuff you’d buy at the store.

Went to Alaska for my 50th birthday many years ago. And we visited Cook's Inlet. I could get over the drop in tides you have. I live on the east coast. ALASKA IS BEAUTIFUL 😊

I have seen where people make a college on a wall of things they find on beaches . They keep adding to it till it gets to the point of being done to them . Use drift wood old fishing nets shells and just other stuff

What a beautiful day to take the dogs to the beach! They're having a blast 😊! I bet you're happy you can get to your cabin a lot easier now that the snow is melting. Like your stove set-up. Slow but sure. This year you'll have to start cutting your firewood much sooner so you don't have to worry about running out of wood. But this year you need to build a wood storage shed so you can store a winter's worth. I watch your utube videos all the time and enjoy them so much. Have a great day and thank you for keeping all of us followers up to date. Can't wait for your home to be finished.

Do not use river rock to have close to a fire because it will explode if it hot enough

Have y'all ever harvested your own sea salt to use in cooking. This one channel I watch that do they get buckets of sea water and boil it down on there wood stove till it's dry and put it in a container to use. When water level gets low you have to stir it good but till it's dry enough

We haven’t tried it yet but it’s on my to-do list for this year. I watched, what sounds like, a similar video on a survivalist page and it looks pretty straight forward. I wanna try making soap, candles and lip balm once we get the kitchen finished. Fun little projects to try over the fall/winter. Maybe before Christmas to give out as gifts!

Pretty much. It’s soft enough now that a truck could move it but no point in paying when Mother Nature will take care of it. We’ve already dealt with it this long, a couple more weeks is worth the savings to us.

The puppers looked so cute in the back of the side by side , beach area is so beautiful and you live so close lucky use's. The red thing you found on the beach is for fishing in Ontario we call it a Dipsy Diver goes quite deep down. Thanks for the trip to the beach it was lovely

It does last longer because it burns hotter so doesn’t take as much to warm an area but it’s also messier to deal with.

In the summer there are trails along the side of the road we use but during winter we do ride on the highway because the snow is too deep. It’s a pretty common practice and everybody does it. We’ve been passed by multiple troopers who either wave or just ignore you. If you’re not impeding traffic or acting stupid, they leave you alone. We always ride along the edge and get over if a car comes. The, live and let live mentality is another great example of why we love Alaska.
