Great win today! I'm sure those elo points will come back in no time! When I used to play chess one thing I saw that helped in faster games was when I was playing LONG games where I thought real deep through every single move (albeit they're a bit painful to play :)). But I'd go back to the quicker games and be able to move so much better (i could just 'see' the board better and quicker when I was used to looking at everything thoroughly on every move). Did you ever try playing 1-2 hour games were you literally think for 3-5 minutes on every single move? (don't move until you are convinced you see the best?) Just an idea if you haven't tried it - to play some of those painful hours long games - and then come back to these quicker 10-20 min games. Maybe it's worth a shot to get your elo back up. I'm rooting for you and love watching your videos!

Hey man just wanted to say good job trading down while you were up material. Keep trading down the entire game instead of trying to find fancy combinations/checkmates. Those outside passers will lead to an easy mate

Great win! Excellent job developing your pieces which led to very sharp but easy tactical patterns. The last three minutes were very stressful. You calculate some nice ideas including the best move f4 during their time but throw them out for some reason when it’s your turn to play at 21:05 you complicated things all over again and time pressure started to get to you. Trust those calculations! It’s better than throwing checks that you haven’t looked at. Nevertheless awesome win and exciting game

Try not to feel too bad about the recent dip in rating Patrick. In my experience all of my peaks have followed significant dips. I was stuck around 1600 for nearly a year, then had a few months where I dipped down bellow 1500, before having a crazy rise up to 1750! The rating journey isn't linear, and your elo at any given moment isn't necessarily indicative of your current overall skill level.

Can I recommend some openings? Play ponziani with white and a scandi with Nf6 before taking back the pawn. Try to see what engine thinks of some of the positions you can get out of the openings to get a feel for them.

@6:46 - you do this too often mate. You play critical moves too fast because you're trying so hard to "just develop." You should ask yourself every move, "do I have any checks I can give on their king?" Had you taken your time you would have seen Nc2+ winning their rook. EDIT: at least you spotted it immediately after. :)

Make another account where you don't care about this channel or your rating and play more games. I suggest at least 5 per day. One per day is just not enough imo. On the dummy account practice playing with more intuition and less calculation. If you don't see an immediate threat from your opponent go on the attack. I think you spend a bit too much time worrying about ghosts. Like Walter White you need to be the one who knocks 😊

Play on lichess; there are fewer cheaters there. Also, you can play OTB

@OrionARS

Just click the opponents profile Pic before playing a move and make sure it's not a new account (especially less than a month old) That will avoid *most* cheaters
