Maybe that thing with tanks and linkage is so a crawler can take something to put liquid fertiliser down and the tanks maybe stainless steel to carry it?

the thing with the tanks on is to be able to use a drawbar tractor with a mounted or semi mounted implement, the tanks can be used for counter weight or potentially additional fuel. more of an american thing than european.

Just seen the video and ploughs. I in years gone by did a few acres with a slatted plough a year. Not too popular, but I was able in the right soil conditions able to drill Barley or Grass straight behind the plough, and no other passes, and not even a furrow press. Any wear on the parts of the slats, mainly the longer lower, I found it was cheaper to replace, rather than the whole mole board. In your soil type, it may even work better than a solid mole board, if you do any ploughing, if you have ever tried one. Also up to 25% less power per mole board, because of the slats.

That Marsden trailer you walked past by the green thing I use to pull that with a JCB who would of thought I would see that on your video 🤷‍♂️👍👍

98% today finished stacking round bales,great yard tour must have been hard on the ankles walking in all that pea gravel and to keep your hands in your pockets. I suspect the green bogey with tanks on is some sort of tool carrier for behind a crawler tractor hope you had a good day out with your friend

Mzuri drills are too class.Our neighbour bought one and traded in his lemken.Gets excellent results with it.7930 were a great tractor.The best looking tractor deere made.We had one in 09 we traded it in but ended up buying another one last year.

The sulky direct drill is from a collaboration between Moore and sulky, I think the sky drill has evolved from sulky and uses the Moore disc and Coulter system

Incredible machinery yard, I thought Brocks of Thaxted Essex had some kit, but not a patch on this. Assume it all comes from farm sales across the country? Do they sell tractors and combines as well as there didnt look to be many about. Hope they've got a friendly bank manager!!!!

When I moved to Snitterfield ( near where DJ farms) I worked at an engineering firm on the old stratford upon avon airfield - one of the jobs was Verstadt cultivator discs. They didn't have grease nipples ! Verstadt supplied the special bearings which were fitted to covers & riveted in place - I do remember them being very heavy !

The 4m meter non-foldable Rapid is probably the most sold drill in Sweden :)

I know you don’t plough but I would love to see your xerion on that 7 furrow fully mounted dowdeswell, that would make it whistle!

Very good Olly very informative crosslot drills are expensive here also there are other drills here that use the Baker boot that the crosslot uses

People have different opinions on ploughing and powerharrows we use them every year cause we like to bury the rubbish and there is people out that believe everything people say is best yea and there’s silage trailers that are not bent everyone has there own ways of doing things

Interesting seeing all the different fads in cultivation methods that UK agriculture has been through. Will there be a line up of 12m Horsch avatar drills there in a few years!? One has remained since they pulled it with a Ox.

I bought a downswell plough from Ellis machinery 25 years ago, very straight people but don’t get swearing as they are very religious

with respect Olly, I wish you would not go on about a plough being bad for the soil, you are in a position of influence with all the things you do and the "powers that be" will listen and take on board what people in your position say, your type of flippant comment could lead to a future ban on ploughing. I will tell you here and now, you wouldn't grow the crops in my area without a plough,try planting spuds and veg crops min till!, sorry bud but rant over, 80% today,was 90% until I watched this 🤣
