This is one of the most British things I've seen. The man wins an award which is highly respected by millions of people. Awarded for helping to inform the world of a significant political issue that Japan has to deal with in this day and age. Chalks it up as an above average day, includes footage of him fumbling about an iron and cusses himself out constantly. Top bloke.

Japan: "Oh, god bless this man who made an educational, journalistic, real-time report about our missile alert system to educate the masses on how to be safe in our wonderful country!" Chris's actual video: "Bloody hell, if that fucking missile alert goes off one more time, im fighting north Korea myself...….."

I know this video is 2 years old, but it's one of the most entertaining vlogs I've ever seen. You're personality and sense of humor are incredible.

Next time you need to iron something and you can't figure out the iron (I would be confused too), just run/have a hot shower and leave the shirt hanging up in the bathroom. The steam will help get rid of the wrinkles.

I actually really enjoyed this. It was quite relaxing (except for when you were going on stage; I was nervous for you). I really wanted to teach you how to use the iron. Even though I can’t read Japanese, I’m pretty confident I could. Lol Thanks for sharing this and exposing your daily life to us. It was a fun journey. Oh, and don’t worry. I can assure you, I’m DEFINITELY not an important person. Haha

As I was watching this I was trying to come up with the words to say to you about how charismatic you come across and how much it makes me enjoy your videos. Without sounding creepy. Then you said that you enjoy the creative and editing aspect of RU-vid and only do the presenting because you had no one else to do it. You are a fantastic editor and an equally fantastic presenter. You come across down to earth and funny which is very charismatic. I think you do a great job keep it up. Not everyone becomes successful in RU-vid and I think that’s partly down to their personality. It takes somebody with a very particular personality and charismatic level to excel which you definitely have

As a person studying Japanese myself, Chris is the first person I've seen studying Japanese who is left handed. Its something minor but I think its inspiring as I'm left handed myself.

Chris talking about hating Tokyo station brought back memories of last year, my first time abroad alone, and first time in Japan. I entered Tokyo station from a train via Narita and spent half an hour trying to reach outside, I had a anxiety attack, broke down in tears, the works, left and never went back my entire 3 week stay😅

Chris, I know you've never heard this before, but you're actually quite handsome.

It’s interesting to me that you consider speaking in front of the camera your weaker point as opposed to filming/editing. I’ve always thought you have a way with speaking and you always appear very natural and relaxed. I really enjoy your personality and genuiness ( definitely not a word) not awkward forced hype and scripted sounding talking, like how many daily vloggers tend to sound. Sort of like that video you did parodying that. Also random addition, I’ve been watching for over a year and I just booked my first solo trip to stay in Aomori this spring for my 22nd birthday! Thank you for giving me inspiration and excitement to give it a try despite my fears! :)

After watching your videos and following your channel for a while I now thought to myself why am I even watching your videos... I just started watching a few videos and kept going without thinking about the content really. I think the main reason I watch your videos is because you're entertaining and you seem like a nice guy. You've got no reason to be self-conscious (except the human need in all of us.) You're a charismatic, hilariously witty guy and what you've done to create this channel is genuinely impressive. Not many people get to live the kind of life you do and - from what we see of you in front of the camera - it seems like you more than deserve to have it! Best of luck, love your videos, keep it up!

There is just one thing I never quite understand: His videos are clearly well devised, edited into a product which is not only compact, objective and balanced but also extremely fresh, smooth and with wonderful chosen moments of comedy that never feel forced or unecessary. Just look at that introduction for a moment, feel how the music feets the way how the sad milk dropping spoon seats in front of our eyes, being the object of focus, before he moves it down in despair and finally eats it. His content is full of consciously designed ideas, of care for quality and detail, a consistent interest in adding layers of entertainment that most of us do not even catch, but greatly influence the product. What am I trying to say with all this? Why was I "angry" on the first place? I simply cannot follow his view when he says that he is actually not good at anything. I have seen him refering to this at least two times in some other videos, and I could guess that he is still amazed by his amount of success, but camon.... I have not seen such refined videos on youtube for....maybe as long as I have been watching youtube. So yeh, screw you Chris for not knowing how great your channel is, and if you are reading this, and still have the doubts upon your qualities, I hope to have left some idea of why people enjoy this so much. To all, a wonderful whatever you are having.

Don't be so self conscious man....I am 27 and gave up my career to take care of my elderly parents. You can't imagine how much I would love to be in your shoes....you are making a difference in your own way.......Life inherently sucks, no matter what. But you are doing good with what you can. Pokémon GO is actually very alive today (and will probably become even more popular in a few days when ~130 new Pokémon will be added) but since it's not really that well represented in the mainstream media all the people who don't play it assume it's dead. You just have to be at the right place at the right time and look for the right people and suddenly there are people playing everywhere! Even here in Oulu, northern Finland where it's currently around -15° celcius dozens of people still gather together everyday to complete raids together 😄

Chris mate, I just want to say, I've been wanting to be an English teacher in Japan for about 3 years now. I'm currently 16 and when I'm around 18 I would love to visit Japan, and just like you probably was, I'm just a normal British boy going about my day to day life. Sometimes I don't really think it's possible for me to be where you are now, and I just give up on learning Japanese, but when I watch your videos, it genuinely inspires me, and I appreciate it. So I just want to say cheers for the videos and I hope I can be where you are one day :) (I'm also left handed)

I'm beginning my A-Levels now and after that I plan to do a gap year in Japan, do my studies back in Germany and then I'll probably work as a teacher in Japan. I know this video is old but here is a good tip, use protein in breakfast, it keeps you full for the day. I lost 6 and a half stone in 2 years by ensuring I had protein in my breakfast and avoiding sugar in things like granola, which isn't healthy, it usually has more sugar than coco pops
