I took my gopro with me to film what a day on site looks like.
I have a new obvious tool co belt which I got to have a quick look at today, and a full review of that will be out next week!

Is the timber treated in any way?
@glitch2250
@glitch2250 7 месяцев назад
It isn't usually internally. Occasionally you'll get termite treated stuff.
@adamclark447
@adamclark447 7 месяцев назад
In NZ we use H1.2 for our interior framing which is generally CCA treated (sometimes LOSP) to prevent bora - all part of the Building Code which I believe is quite similiar to Aus@@glitch2250

The houses are so badly built in parts of Aus. they'll be demolished long before the borers do any damage. LOL. The building industry here is as shoddy as.

Nice vid! Been a chippy for 16 years and as of only 2 years ago when ripping timber use the measurements on the base plate of the circ saw, alot quicker than scribing a line. Works wonders ✌🏾

Mate you shouldn’t be planning internal wall frame studs. You have just made so much more work for your self. the other side of the wall will have a bow too, then you are putting on those silly packers on the other side. Crimp the stud and cleat the rest of the stud. Super easy and the right way to do it. Coming from a Aussie carpenter. Hope this helps for next time
@CarbideEndMill
@CarbideEndMill 7 месяцев назад
Made more work? By the time you run a cut thru the stud, push it out and put in a wedge, then take the noggin out, cut and nail a cleat to the side of the stud, re-cut the noggin to fit, nail the noggin back in, not to mention your going to carry around how many sticks of pine to cut up as cleats to straighten 50 studs. Any chippy doing that on my job see ya later

How come you don't cripple your internal ?
@MrDeano-eu9rg
@MrDeano-eu9rg 7 месяцев назад
I'm assuming you're not Australian and you're referring to why he's buzzing the walks instead of crippling? It's quicker and more efficient to buzz 98% of the time unless the stud is so fucked and even then its quicker to just replace it.
@julianwalters1994
@julianwalters1994 7 месяцев назад

@julianwalters1994

You plane externals cripple internals bud. I run a big crew and frame custom houses all over Sydney Go back to Tafe or finish your apprenticeship.
@MrDeano-eu9rg
@MrDeano-eu9rg 7 месяцев назад
@@julianwalters1994 It take about 5 seconds to buzz a bowing IN stud to straight and to pack one takes about 30 seconds which includes running the straight edge from top plate to bottom plate and marking the point it needs 1mm where it finishes needing 1mm, I run a bead of liquid nails which will adhere instantly to hold in place and removes soft sheet nail time, it also prevents the Masonite from absorbing water and curling. Now your saying cutting the stud, crippling it straight, cutting a block for either side nailing it and potentially knocking the nog out is more efficient? Come on mate, there's a reason noone does it your way.

There’s a ripping guide attachment for the saw. Why are your noggings the same width as your studs. Better to use 70mm nogs on a 90mm internal frame.
@tomskone7393
@tomskone7393 7 месяцев назад
all the gear no idea, 3 battery tool systems when power was a meter away, would've spent more time setting up tools and packing away then the actual job, would've only needed max 4 tools for the day........ it baffles me that "chippies" like yourself can get out a nail gun out for a couple dozen nails when you've got a Martinez, people just don't hand nail anymore....... no dust pan brush or a saw guide or nail puller......... come on dude, that's basic first year stuff. Aussie Carpenter of 9 years.....
@glitch2250
@glitch2250 7 месяцев назад
I disagree. Would have taken longer to pull apart a rack of nails and hand nail it back together. Much easier to grab the gun out the box click in the battery and press a button? Not to mention tripping over leads all day sucks a** . Granted, I prefer some actual power tools over battery powered.
