R.I.P. Joe Pilato who on March 24th 2019 passed away peacefully in his sleep, just 8 days after his 70th birthday. 😔

To the guy who filmed all of this, you're a legend

Day of the Dead is in my opinion the best of the three original Romero zombie films.

It was awesome when Joseph Pilato, delivered one of his most memorable lines from the movie to a member of the audience who was dressed up in cosplay. "I'm running this monkey farm now Frankenstein & I wanna know what the fuck you're doing with my time!" 29:43

Day of the dead in my opinion has the best characters

Best line from DAY OF THE DEAD, a line which sums up Romero's whole philosophy: "Civility must be rewarded, Captain. If it's not rewarded, then there's no use for it. There's just no use for it at all!"

I'm so glad so many people have enjoyed watching this over the years, have to be honest though only filmed it for myself to be able to watch it over and over again, haha. Day and Dawn fight back and fourth in my brain over #1 spot. I have a bub tattoo and a flyboy zombie tattoo beside each other on my leg. Have posters of each flick signed by almost all of each cast framed in our family room... So glad I drove those 5 hours across the border to this event all those years ago, can't believe Joe and Gary are not with us anymore they were so happy to meet all the fans of Day of the Dead, gone too soon.

Joseph Pilato's Columbo impression is spot on. Lori Cardille has aged gracefully.

Joe Pilato is a fascinating contradiction. He goes from swearing and crude jokes to saying some of the most beautiful and sentimental thoughts. He seems like a very interesting man.

Only one missing is Greg Nictorero, but he's busy w. TWD. I think he played Pvt. Johnson. Richard Liberty who played Dr. Logan / Frankenstein died in 2000, and Ralph Marreno who played Pvt. Rickles, who died in a car accident back in '91. R.I.P.

Just wish Richard Liberty "Frankenstein" was there! May he R.I.P also was in Original The Crazies as Artie

So good to see them all together again. Day of The Dead was such a big part of my teenage years, and is still my most favourite horror film. Always ignore the critics. Watch the films that catch your eye and make your own decision. This film was mostly forgotten about for years and years. Now it has lots of fans and a massive following. Hooray!

Back in the 80s we traded VHS tapes in the mail. I had copy of this one along with most of the other gory movies that was released in the early and mid 80s. I liked Fulcis zombie movies a lot, but day of the dead was hi-tech and looked like a hollywood production, great actors, great locations, props, etc. Romero is a legend in cinema history.

I found this movie last year and i watch it at least once a week. Cant believe Rhodes wasnt peppered with questions the whole time. He made that movie, dr Frankenstein too.. damnit the whole cast. Crazy how beautiful sarah still is as well.

Brilliant film,brilliant actors,brilliant special affects and in my opinion just marginally better than dawn of the dead and zombie flesh eaters.Love the genre though and all its low budget movies .The 80s we’re and still are the best movies by far.Thankfully I grew up with these great horror movies.George Romero!salutes.

Day of the dead . My favorite movie

31:50 Hell, I saw this in the theater and what was said here about Lori never even really occurred to me until watching this... She was in fact very likely the first very strong female lead, a year before Ripley in Aliens... Bravo, bravo... Overall, this remains my all-time favorite zombie flick ever, from amazing characters and story to literally eye-popping special effects... it's the only one in the Romero series I could watch over and over again and adore it every time...

Wow, I know this is old, but where have I been? I LOVE "DAY OF THE DEAD!" To this very day, I still watch this as I've never seen it before. It's a classic, to say the least. There's just something about the movies that keep me coming back to the repeats. I get comfortable in bed with my snacks and drink and watch my favorite Zombie movie. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST. WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN YOU GUYS IN OTHER ZOMBIE MOVIES. Just know, YOU ARE LOVED! I AM A FAN OF DAY OF THE DEAD FOR LIFE.

I might sound like a pussy, but some moments made my eyes water. Like when the Cast and Crew keep complimenting eachother, and even a moment where Tom Savini is listening and he's looking around at them like he is proud to be a part of the Dead family. I always thought there shouldn't be another remake of Dawn or Day (Dawn if my fav film of all time)... but a Movie about THE MAKING OF the "Dead Trilogy"... because from Night to Day... they each have the most interesting Back Stories, and feels like a REAL FAMILY. 37:55
