I was a little bit scared to listen to dayshell because I thought nothing could compare to the work Shay did in om&m, but I have to say these guys are killing it. Not just Shay's vocals, but the whole band in general, especially the bassist. I love it :3 Can't wait to hear more from them
I know a lot of people seem to comment on these videos that Dayshell is better than Of Mice and Men... honestly Shayley's vocals are amazing and unique, but this band is still really missing something. Maybe its the more aggressive sound from Austin's vocals with that sort of mesmerizing sound of Shayley's, but i don't think either band is as good as when they were both together.
I honestly hate Austin's vocals. They're way to piercing (in the bad way). Of Mice and Men are good instrumentally, but Austin's vocals ruin it for me. Dayshell is so much better than Of Mice and Men, but hey, that's my opinion.
I agree shaleys voice can honestly carry any band but OM&M has it all still to this day but I’m glad shaley is still making music his voice is so amazing

Shayley Has Always Been A Screamer I'm Suprised No One Noticed It In Second And Sebring He Frys His Voice On Certain Notes And If You Also Seen Product Of A Murderer Live He Is Screaming Go Watch One With Him In It. When I First Heard Him Sing I Imagined A God And Fell In Love Btw.. Lol And He Frys His Voice In A Couple Other Songs In Of Mice And Men Like "The Ballad Of..." ( Don't Remember Full Name) And This Ones For You, And Another One It's Slipping My Mind XD
***** why? it's a fact. I've seen him 3-4 times live between Dayshell and OM&M and each time he's been horrible. I'm not the only one that has noticed either

Whoever said Shayley is bad live is an idiot. I just seen them the other day and they killed it and sound identical to the album. They deserve way more credit than they deserve and will blow up soon. Watch.
I saw them last night at Mojoes here in Joliet, IL, and they were TERRIBLE. I decided to look them up and see how they sounded, and they are pretty amazing. Personally, I think they must have partied too hard with I See Stars before their set. They played three songs, and then they walked off stage. They were a hot mess. Their bassist collapsed or something, and fell off stage (he got up about 2 minutes later though, so he's okay thankfully) but the vocals were butchered to hell, and all over the place. Hopefully they'll play another show here soon, and they'll put on a better performance.
DashiexFlutter they must of been having a bad day, seems like most bands have a bad performance here and there. I mean cmon after that many shows it's got to be tiring
Oh no doubt. Never said that bands don't have bad days. I can't begin to imagine how tiring touring must be. I can only assume they were having a really bad day. As I mentioned before, I hope the next time they play here that the performance will be better. They deserve a second chance, definitely.
Austin Beem Both bands are absoulte fire the way they are now. OM&M's new album is amazing and Shayley seems to be tearin it up in Dayshell so i think things worked out great.

It's funny, the song that got me into metalcore, and by extension far heavier music later on, was "Feels Like Forever" by OM&M. That style is very similar to this. I didn't hear of Dayshell until later on, but I definitely agree. The crunchy staccato of the guitars makes me think of Chevelle songs like "Fizgig."
Austin in an interview said shay was irrelevant to the band and their lives now that he left. That sparked an argument between Shayley and him. Shayley and Alan Ashby also wrote about 70% of the flood

Brianna Walker Austin would be the lead vocalist, because he is the frontman. Cleans does not equal lead, lead is the vocalist with singing most of the song which is normally the frontman, which in that case is Austin.
I feel like he wrote this for OM&M he does owe them nothing, they kicked him to the curb then treated him like the weird stepchild. if anything OM&M would be nowhere without him

shay left the band to start a new beginning... he was never kicked out... obviously no one watched that interview... this is shays own words, he left because he wanted to leave, he said it was forced chemistry, but he worked hard and enjoyed it, but wanted to do his own thing

No. Shay did leave for his own reasons but part of it was because of a feud between him and Austin. Both of them wanted to be the face of the band and neither one wanted to coexist anymore. They started to complain about each other and it caused a rift in the band. You can see on social media now that Austin tends to be out on his own without the band. It is the reason he was kicked from Attack Attack. Great vocalist great guy shitty friend/bandmate. He's only with the band when it's scheduled.
Haven't OM&M recorded their new album with Aaron? Considering that man has some incredible vocals I doubt they'd miss out on the opportunity to use him to his full potential. If anything, with a clean vocalist they're more post-hardcore ish. If those four songs were post-hardcore then wow, that genre has gotten decent.
He needed to take off from touring for a bit. He wasn't going to make them find someone to join for a year and then just make the new guy leave. He decided to go in a differetn direction. He didn't leave to escape music. He left to take a break from touring because he fucked his back.
Musicians often have different artistic images than there peers and sometimes choose to go in a different musical direction than previously decided. Your best option would be to enjoy both bands and musical directions they take.
This song was never called Extreme Thing. The show that the song was first played in was CALLED Extreme Thing. the song was temporarily named Suck My Ass when the band realized their demo to the song was leaked. Somehow both names got associated.
Actually it's because he had drug and alcohol issues and he felt like he was holding the band down. Dayshell has always been his side project and it became his full-time occupation after he got clean. OM&M are still amazing...
maybe it's because of the people he was involved with in OM&M? I mean as someone who's been in numerous bands, most of the time I left not because of the music itself, but because of the people.
That was never going to be the name, it was just a name they put on the song for whenever they were in the studio. Most bands put ridiculous names before ACTUALLY naming the songs.

He DID in fact make them unique actually. There is NO ONE I have ever heard that sounds like Shayley. He and Austin are the reason people know about Of Mice & Men

Shay's voice sounds amazing, but he's drunk at all of his shows and can hardly keep up. And this is so auto tuned. I love Shay but...he's disappointed me.

Shayley can actually scream pretty well, I gotta say I'm shocked :O however I do think he should have the bassist do the screams so that he doesn't blow out his vocal cords.
***** Actually screams do blow out your vocal chords, you vocals are stressed if you do any type of screaming. Though fry screaming won't kill your voice(at least not as quick), but its harder to do.
