Good review, and excellent shooting! Windscreens are inexpensive and does wonders to cut down the wind noise, if you are already using one, then the next step is a (Sennheiser or Shure) wireless label microphone with said windscreen.
Very nice review ! 👍 Really nice to see some shooting and a nice grouping at 60 meters in the wind 🙂 Looking forward to be getting the Delta Wolf .177 HP hopefully soon 😍
Just spoke to my local dealer who will not sell the daystate delta wolf when I asked why they told me very politely that daystate never answer calls and back up is unacceptable and a lot of times they have sent rifles back for repair they have come back not repaired correctly my local dealer is very professional give Tony a call
Thankfully here in the US we have an excellent distribution center for Daystate products. It's a real shame that so many guys in the UK have the same complaints about DS customer service and dealer support. Here in the US, Airguns Of Arizona has fantastic customer support and in my experience have been right on top of any and every little issue addressing whatever comes quickly and very effectively. This is systemic across the entire range of products they sell. The same can be said of the FX and the quality of the sales and service of their distributor, Utah Airguns. So, this leads me to believe that the problems are more inherent to the system in the UK. It makes me wonder what it is that your dealers do differently in handling their relationships with the manufacturers. :/
@@JoePatABC thanks for the reply in the good USA the customer is always right in the UK it's the other way round 😞 ref daystate UK they don't give a professional service in my opinion but probably a lot of manufacturers are the same as we are a small customer in the world market mainly sub 12ft
No doubt Daystate engineers demonstrated their extremely innovating capabilities to come out with a full fledged rifle that leaves all other rifles way behind. For such a rifle to take its share in the world market Daystate should provide a strong after sales service to eliminate customers fear of the rifle’s electronics failure. I am an airgunner who has many air rifles of almost all prevailing brands in the market has always been and still reluctant to buy an electronic gun.
I've had a few from Daystate - Red Wolf and the Pulsar before that and have to say I've not had any issues with them. The Delta Wolf is a whole new ball game though. I guess time will tell.
Great video and great shooting in the wind. Shooting off a Bumbag and a rickety table, just think what groups you could get off a proper rest. I'm not knocking your set up, just thinking of the possibilities of the new Delta Wolf 🤩. I'm subscribed, keep up the good work... Dave
Sorry about the wind. I thought folks would rather see the rifle in real hunting conditions seeing as that is what I think the rifle will be used for in the main, and that they'd rather see the review as soon as possible rather than wait for a nice, still day and perfect conditions. I hope it didn't spoil your enjoyment too much.
Thanks for the great detailed review, personally I prefer RTI rifles cheaper and no complicated electronic , wizardry to go wrong and won extreme bench rest in the states couple of yrs ago , and can be had a lot cheaper ,,, thanks Shane uk 🇬🇧
Not a fan of the red laminate at all, I hope Daystate bring out some darker laminates.... the Red wolf Heritage or Wolverine Forester stocks would be great. Lets also hope they've ironed out the other internal issues... as that stopped me buying a DW last year! I've owned 2x Theoben Rapid for approx 25 years, they're still an unbelievably good gun today, very reliable and super accurate.
A few guys at my club got this rifle when i came out a nearly all of them have had problems with it, resulting in the guns having to be returned to daystate, one went back three times , personally i think daystate introduced this rifle without testing it enough, witch for a gun costing the wrong side of 2 grand is unacceptable, just my opinion, 😁👍
@@alphamilitaria2756 you must be one of the lucky ones, all i know is for a gun costing more than 2 thousand pounds i would expect more , just my experience with mates that have them , 😁👍
Thanks Steve. Funny thing is that I find myself using FAC air rifles more and more and .22 LR less because of the risk of ricochets. And much quieter than .17 HMR of course.
Hi David. Daystate have been producing electronic rifles for 20 years or more and they are pretty reliable. In fact, I've never had an issue with electronics failing on the many Daystates I own. In addition, Daystate is increasingly enabling people to perform updates to fix bugs, add new features etc. But to answer your question, no - if there is no power then the rifle will not operate.
Very interesting. Wanting to see a test of this high performance adjustable rifle at decent ranges, firing also slugs, preferably in.25 calibre FAC. Wondering why no one has posted such a review. I want to buy this gun but Not before a distance review.
Mike - my long distance range is under water right now! Very frustrating as I too am itching to see what the rifle is like with slugs at 100 yards. Especially as it performed well with pellets at 60 metres. As soon as things dry out I'll give it a go and let you know. Thanks for watching. Rich.
actually there was very little talk. I know I tried to get conversations started and all fizzled out quickly. Problem months of lack of information and true performance data not released. The queen finally gave her nod to start releasing bits and pieces of information via video... haha.
@@alphamilitaria2756 lol.... just poking fun for the beginning monologue (all the talk) because there was not much talk on this rifle. But yes I been waiting for Daystate to make this since after release of the Pulsar. Very exciting and thanks for your time.
@mtnGhost Gunner Cool rifle. I bet the UK gov would just love my 110FPE 22cal Taipan Veteran though 😂 Impossible to get 110fpe out of a veteran mate. I smell bullshit
Don’t think you did yourself any favours outside in that wind Rich, and also appeared to have an almost flat battery from the off , I’m still not sold on this electronic stuff , not convinced by its long term reliability, even my car with its sensors occasionally sticks the vees up and throws a wobbler , should the battery run low when ur out shooting , it’s gonna make for a bad day , especially considering what I guess you would pay a lot of money ,, great review but not convinced , I’d spend my money on the wolverine r ,, cheers Shane
Hi Richard, sorry to trouble you again but did the gun go off the reg’ at 40 or 50 shots ? It’s just that if it’s 50 I’ll order one but if 40 I won’t be. Many thanks. Ian.
Hi Ian. No trouble at all. Unfortunately its not a simple question to answer as the reg and fps can be adjusted so easily you can pretty much make it do what you want in terms of shot count/power/fps.
@@alphamilitaria2756 Hi Richard, my problem is that the ‘out of the box’ setting of 67fpe using the 34g JSB’s is what I want and therefore wouldn’t adjust anything but hence me needing to know if that setting will deliver 50 shots ? Thanks
Hi Richard nice review think it’s the first full review I’ve seen ŵell done, as you know I have a revere and I’ve been using the new magazines for a while unfortunately the Center magnet that holds the back plate closed fell out of mine I contacted Daystate and was told to glue it back in and it still continues to fall out I have asked Daystate for a replacement but have to date have not had a reply (not the best customer service) would be interested to see how you fair with yours as they are not cheap in the first place, Also have a few questions as I’m really interested in one you may or may not know the answers to, Was wondering what is the length of warranty especially with regards to the electronics If the lcd screen is damaged can it be replaced individually and the cost of a replacement If the electronics pack fail what is the cost of a replacement pack in its entirety Many thanks stay safe and look forward to the next review
Thanks Mr. T. Sorry to hear you've had problems with your magazine. You're absolutely right to insist on a replacement, and I hope you get one soon. I haven't had a problem with my magazine. With regards to the Delta Wolf, the warranty is three years for faulty parts and labour. I'm sure that if the LCD screen is damaged it can be replaced, though of course the nature of the damage would determine if the replacement would be covered by the warranty. I'm afraid I don't know what the replacement cost is, but can't imagine it would be especially cheap. If the electronics fail within three years, I'd expect them to be more readily covered by warranty unless there is evidence of misuse/abuse or the use of non-standard parts like the battery for example.
@@alphamilitaria2756 Hi Richard thanks for the quick reply I think I will email Daystate and get some idea on cost before I indulge, my local gun store has had several electronic Daystate’s go wrong out of warranty and I know it’s been very expensive, I work with electronics and in my experience it’s always the weakest point in the system I’ll let you know if I get anything back from them, Looking forward to some hunting footage but I will say you can’t knock that 60 yard group you did very impressive especially in that wind, stay safe all the best MR.T
@@alphamilitaria2756 that for getting back sent message to daystate i won't hold my breath also dried daystate owner ☹️ can use the rifle but i think it is not quite as advertised I think I could get more information from the KGB 😁
Hi Ken. Yes, the Wildcat is a great gun too but I wasn't setting out to prove the Delta Wolf was better than anything else, just to show what the Delta Wolf is capable of. The Impact also is awesome - I have a couple and love them. I don't think it is fair to say the Delta Wolf is a 'rip off' though. Its very hard to make a tactical rifle look much different. And of course, the RTI Priest came before the Impact, so is the Impact a rip off of the Priest? And then again, the Delta Wolf has an inboard chronograph and electronic action, which the Impact doesn't. Thanks for watching!
Hi Alan. There was no plug or cap on the review rifle. That said, the position of the port is such that unless you drop it butt first into a deep puddle or mud it is pretty well protected, better than the port on a phone for example.
Daystate claims that the plenum is 34 CC.. which means they did not get the full advantage of it.. I have ATI Nova Liberty which is a 300$ Chinese airgun and I shoot 25gr JSB RD at 970 ft/s with a regulator pressure of 150 bar and with a 22CC custom plenum. I have no doubt of Daystate quality but there is a big question mark because of this high regulator pressure and low speed
I have Paul. Funnily enough, I was out on Monday evening. I'm getting five shot groups of a smidge over one inch at 90 metres with FX Hybrid 22 grain slugs. The my friend showed off with his 17 HMR and did the same at 150 metres! How about you. Do you shoot slugs?
@@alphamilitaria2756 i have had my delta wolf for a while (.25 FAC) and so far have not been successful in getting any slugs to work really well , i have tried roger laits tune with the 39g wildmans and not had any luck either , i have got a load of prohunter slugs in various weights and have again not been successful either so far. The thing that bugs me the most is my .25 FAC Redwolf will shoot a load of different slugs very easily and when i installed a helliboard to give me 12 different power settings it did so even better with heavier slugs.
You made that gun look awsome cracking shotting in that wind I didn't hear a price on gun but am thinking the higher range lol nice all the same 👍👍👍😜🏴🦄🎣😁🤞✌️
Thanks Chopper. To be honest, the gun is very flattering. One of those groups where I wanted to stop for fear of mucking it up! The Delta Wolf is certainly not cheap but then again, the Daystate brand does carry a premium. The FAC rifle will cost you £2,700 and the 12 ft/lbs version £2,450. Better start doing those lottery tickets!

@@alphamilitaria2756 no I’ve just tapped pins in with a punch now magazine goes in perfect I am waiting for second magazine so I can up the shot count How did you manage to a silencer with yours I’ve been told not available yet for my 177
@@matthewcullen4293 Hi Matthew. The review rifle had a .22 barrel and came with a Daystate 0db silencer. The fitting, which I forgot to mention on the video is M20x1 rather than 1/2 inch. I'll try and find out availability of the .177 Odb for the Delta Wolf and let you know.
P.EASE BE AWARE YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE ELECTRONIC ADJUSTMENT ON THE SUB 12FLP SO LOTS OF THE EXCITING ADJUSTMENTS ARE DISABLED YOU MAY BE DISAPPOINTED WITH YOU ABILITY TO ADJUST
Hi Ken. I'm not sure that is completely accurate. If you mean that you cannot adjust the regulator and therefore fps/power to the same extent as you can with an FAC rifle then yes, I'd agree. But the reason for that is pretty obvious. You can still use the integrated chronograph to fine tune output in 5% increments to optimise performance for different pellets and stay within 12 ft. lbs. You adjust magazine count, night/day screen mode, backlight brightness/display time, the length of time before the auto power setting kicks in, you can turn the chrono on and off. And of course, you can still change the barrels/calibre. Other than the ability to turn power levels up beyond 12 ft. lbs. I believe the electronic adjustments are very similar. And if you buy a 12 ft. lbs. Delta Wolf and subsequently receive an FAC certificate, or a new slot on your existing ticket, Daystate will upgrade your rifle to the high power version for free.
@@alphamilitaria2756 you are very correct, you are definitely not sure, but I would check with the correct information The gun sounds very exciting to most shooters with all the available adjustment but at sub12flp it becomes very different for all that money Please go and find out about a sub 12ftlb gun adjustability and how many electronic features are disabled
@@neknadroj1 Ken - I can't find any reference to 'fieldwork cymru'. Do you have a link you could send? There's nothing untrue or inaccurate about the Delta Wolf 12 ft. lbs. features I listed, I promise you. I should have mentioned that I am a field tester and hunting consultant for Daystate. Please let me know what areas of the rifle you would like more information on and I'll be very happy to clarify for you. Thanks.
I wish my 0.22 HP shot anything like this. Mine shoots horribly with any pellet. A few landed in South Africa recently and of the three others I know that are sold, all shoot poorly, in particular with the 25gr these barrels are supposed to be so good with. The current best of the bunch will only shoot 18gr reasonably well, matched by virtually any half decent, functional gun out there, and utterly demolished by all the other daystates we have. I sincerely hope it's just a bad batch of barrels and not something more. The actual function of the gun and chrony have been fine, with good velocity consistency etc. Mine is back with the distributor now. We'll see what happens
Sorry to hear that Greg. You're right to send it back and give Daystate the chance to address what ever the issue is. I also have a 12 ft lbs .177 and that is very accurate too. I hope you manage to get the issue resolved.
@@mikerotch6733 : Fire Arms Certificate. The British Government doesn’t trust its law abiding, responsible citizens with any more than 12 ft/lb air rifles or a ridiculous Airsoft-like 6ft/lb air pistols unless they have a FAC.

Hi Ian. The review rifle was an FAC spec and having fiddle around with the settings I can't honestly say I have an accurate reading. I'll try and find out what the shot count is for a 12 ft/lbs rifle and let you know.
@@alphamilitaria2756 it’s FAC that I’m interested in actually and preferably .25. I thought that if you were using a 25.4g pellet (even in .22) that it would give me some comparisons for the same weight albeit in .25. Thanks anyway.
@@Ian-oq9up Hi Ian. To be honest I fannied around with the chrono and all the other settings so wouldn't have got an accurate reading. I have some 33.95g .22 pellets which are the same weight as the JSB .25 pellets I use. I'll fill the bottle up and put them through the rifle to see what kind of count I get and let you know.
@@alphamilitaria2756 thanks very much. I too use the JSB Mk11’s in .25 so it would be excellent if you could tell me the shot count. I’m looking at around 920fps so if you could set the chrono at around that speed it would tell me what I need to decide on placing an order. I genuinely appreciate your time in doing this. Many thanks. Ian.
Would have been better inside with less wind and less background noise, a little long-winded (excuse the pun), needs to be a bit more snappy in presentation
Sorry you don't like my presenting style Socrates. There's an awful lot to go through on a rifle like the Delta Wolf and rather than take a week or two to learn it off pat I thought people would rather have the information sooner. Also, I'm not a professional presenter. I do it for fun and hopefully to inform, not to make money.
@@alphamilitaria2756 It sounded like wind buffeting the microphone. I've heard it before on other RU-vidr videos. It's distracting from what's being said.
Well, Your average UK user is going to be sub 12 ft-lb . Yes FAC holders may find it good. But get out of the licking ass mode . And a rifle at half the price could match it . Guy's with springers With sub 12 ft-lb guns can match this over priced Rifle .
Thanks for watching Phil. Do you have a video on RU-vid of you and your 12 ft lb springer at 60 metres? I'd love to see it. We've got plenty of reviews of 12 ft lbs rifles as well as rifles costing a lot less than the Delta Wolf which you might be interested in. As for the Delta Wolf - the review rifle sent to me was an FAC rifle - so not much I could do about that. I did try to include some info on the 12 ft lbs version as well. And I'm sorry if you didn't like the way I reviewed the most technologically advanced rifle yet to be made. Have you had a chance to shoot one yet? What did you think of it? Rich.
@@philnoel5839 Hi Phil. Si is a phenomenal shot. I'd class myself as average at best. And, I believe, he is army trained. I'm certainly not. And the SFS tuned Imp mk 2 is a great rifle. But I still don't really see your point in comparing an FAC Delta Wolf with a 12 ft. lbs. springer. I know that if I tried shooting a target at 60 metres with a sub 12 ft lbs springer on a windy day I would not have been able to achieve a sub one inch 10-shot group. And yet I could with the FAC Delta Wolf. That's hardy a surprise to me, or I should think anyone else, and not something I set out to try and prove. If you've shot the Delta Wolf and don't agree with my opinion of it, that is of course absolutely fine. However, I think it is misleading to say that anyone with a sub 12 ft. lbs. rifle could match an FAC Delta Wolf, and most other top brand FAC rifles. Si isn't anyone. Very few people have his ability with a rifle. Wouldn't it be great to set him up with a Delta Wolf and see what he could do with it?
@@alphamilitaria2756 Buddy, I was not really making a comparison between sub 12 and fac. The point i was trying to make was, The Delta wolf may be a great rifle. Akin to the FX range. All the adjustments is a dream. What i am trying to get across is they are not worth the cost for UK sub 12 FT-LB users. Because they have to pay the same amount and only get half the rifle. That is why i said that rifles at less than half their price, Are just as capable. It's like paying for a Rolls Royce , And getting it with a mini engine . If all that makes sense. PS Si could shoot the gonads of a gnat at 50 yds lol.
@@philnoel5839 No problem. I guess some people like Rollers! You're right that cheaper rifles perform as well, or very close at 12 ft. lbs. but for some people, those with deep pockets I suppose, there's more to owning a rifle than its ability to shoot accurately.
