Like the price/performance. The website has a lot of purchaser giving FB about the noise? I've been made to understand it has something to do with using the remote that introduced engine/electrical noise. This doesn't sound like it has been your experience. Great video.

Clean install bro, and thanks for the information about the DSP. I have one too, and I love it, BUT, I have one issue....ENGINE NOISE/Alternator whine, and it's killin me. I was noise free prior to the Dayton, and a lot of forums online are full of people with the same issue. Do you have noise? I also noticed you're using the home power plug as opposed to the wire harness. How are you powering it? Is it powered on constantly? If not, how are you maintaining your present memory? I think using the power plug is the solution to the noise issue, but I don't want mine on constantly, but I want to retain it's memory like it would if I was using the yellow, red and black leads on the harness. Any information you can share about how you're powering your DSP would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

@@TrapMyRide LOL I've taken mine in and out to change ground points to hopefully eliminate the noise, and thought I would lose my presets, but you're right, it does hold the memory...that is so weird. It even works without the ground, but it goes from a whine to a hum....that's the only issue with this thing. I am definitely interested in using the home power, but my biggest concern was it being on constantly....possibly overheating, over working as well as the constant drain on my battery. Thanks so much for getting back to me. Good luck with your system.

@@TrapMyRide hey bro, how's it going? I actually used a thicker ground wire and two hi end ground loop isolators on my mids and highs channels and the noise is GONE! If that didn't work, I was going to get a JL TWK-88 or Audio Control DM-608, but luckily I don't have to.

I'm trying to find out if I can get a center channel out of this? Dolby simulation maybe? I was an installer in the 90's and early 2000's now it's a hobby for myself and friends. Engine noise is almost always a grounding problem guys and gals. sometimes it can be an internal issue with the equipment, like a cold solder joint. Cheaper equipment has this issue (or more likely) at times no matter what you do. SO, always ground all of your amps and head unit everything to the same point and use good wire and the right gauge of course to get rid of this issue ( go back to the battery with everything if you have to, not convenient but usually works). Most people don't do this with the head unit, and honestly that is not always needed The factory ground on most cars is usually good. But try it if you have this problem. If you add any DSP and you have amps this needs to be done for sure. One other big thing is, don't run power and sound wires together. EVER! I know not easy sometimes, but they should be 1 foot apart at least. Better wire always helps with this also. It's a good practice to run power on one side of the vehicle and RCA/speaker/sound wires on the other if possible. Also, low level inputs are always better than high level, by far for noise. If that is an option always use it. If not get a new quality head unit that does have them, if possible.

Yeah I think so. I think anything Bluetooth would work even a pc I believe.

I do plan on using the dsp again. Should be a lot better more updated video. This one is older when I first started the channel. Everyone will like the updated version I'm sure.

Your power input is touching your rca's I understand this is on the input side . But it's probably definitely interfereing with the incoming signal . More commonly found with the alternator whine / engine noise .

I heard that the Dayton DSP does some kind of popping noises and sometimes doesn't work without turning the car off and on to reset it. Is that true?

There's more things to that dsp that you are not using. The dsp controls everything that the head unit does plus more. Delete your head unit. The dsp has the ability to turn off any single output with affecting the others.

Yeah I ended up getting an android tablet that i bluetooth directly to the dsp. Even with the head unit I connected my phone and tuned the dsp with my phone. If you don't tune it it kind of defeats the purpose of using a nice dsp.

Bro, just get an android head unit..I have a 10.1” android head unit it’s awesome. If you want a bigger one, you can get a 13.3” Android head unit. Some of them electrically rotate as well, so you can hit a button and it will flip itself from horizontal to vertical and back again with the press of a button.
