I was so exited for Tim drake Robin. I couldn't wait for that book but then I saw the writing and the art and I noped out. It looks so bad I couldn't even read the first issue... and I am the target demographic for this book!

Gee, it's almost as if the people that acted outraged for representation and were catered to by the companies weren't actually paying customers in the first place. Damn... If only someone had warned them of this

I really loved Cass she was my all time favorite Batgirl! I never understand why they make her more normal. She started out strange but it also gave her an upperhand. I even think she's a better Damian when it comes to being an ex assassin and forcing/wanting not to kill but be a hero.

I read the entire Cassandra Cain Batgirl series and most of the Stephanie Brown Batgirl series but took one look at Batgirls and knew it would be a train wreck.

This run of Robin looks like they forced Kazuhiko Kato (of Lupin III fame) to draw it at gunpoint. And yes, I am factoring in that the man's been dead for almost 4 years now.

Gosh, I remember the days when Dick Grayson and Kori being in bed together, or strongly implied they were just in bed, took up a panel or two and that was it. Or Clark and Lois on a date taking up less than a page. No one reads superhero comics for love stories or sex stories. We want adventure. Pure and simple.

DC destroyed Tim Drake. He has been ruined for year if not forever. He was a favorite when written well. The writers understood the character & audience.

Gay, they made him gay. Bisexual is just a contrivance to explain why he had been portrayed as straight for decades. This version of Tim Drake will never be seen with a woman again, that's how this works.

Here's the weird fault in their logic: they constantly say "We made this character gay, bi, whatever, so that those people can identify with the chatacter, but they somehow expect (demand) that hetero people have to continue to identify with the character even though they have totally changed the character. How is it that their logic on indentifaction only goes in one direction? Then they are shocked that the sales collapse after they do this...

Honestly DC should let me write a Tim Drake Miniseries. Sure I never written a professional comic book on my life, but I could probably get more sales and good reviews than Fitzmartin's run lol.

Megan, as you already know, made it very clear she doesn't understand Tim Drake as a character and was never really into comics. In an interview, she said her biggest exposure to Tim was BATMAN TAS, and went on to describe Tim as "the guy who wants to make everyone happy". This is all intentional. Marvel and DC notable employees have said they go out of their way to avoid hiring fans of the characters. I think her name was... Sam Ominot? Something that sounds similar to that, said anyone who shows signs of being a fan was a "red flag". They want these books to fail for some odd reason.

Batgirls writing sucked but the concept of Stephanie and Cass together as Batgirls working under Barbara as Oracle is actually really good they just need better writers

For the Tim Drake series, I knew that it’s going to get cancelled due to low sales and bad writing. Let’s hope other writers can restore Tim Drake to his pre-Flashpoint incarnation as well as resuming the role of Red Robin (wearing his Kingdom Come Red Robin suit).

Man, I hope this is the beginning of the end for this woke tripe in comics. Hopefully this trend will continue as these creators are found out to be non talented hacks and things will finally come full circle. My take (for awhile now) is that someday this time in our lives will be looked back upon the same as hippies from the 60s and 70s. This will be the era of the wokies.

I was a big fan of Tim Drake, and was really excited to see him get a solo book again, but then they literally destroyed the character, and tried to ram a shitty series down the fans' throats, and I wanted no part of it.

Everything I look at this comic something stupid pops out at me I never noticed. Apparently Bernard can sneak up on and startle a Robin.

Well, it's a beginning. Until they reboot the entire continuity of the last five years nothing will sell. How they've been able to delude themselves that they've been successful or that anyone wants their product is beyond me. How anyone allowed them to continue to destroy their valuable I.P. is an even deeper mystery.

The artwork of Robin is truly a turn off for the whole new Robin series. Unlike the Batgirls that had a more bombastic look in terms of art is way better at time unlike Robin.

Who in DC gave the go ahead to release this comic in the first place The problem you have got is the artist and writers will be given more projects in the future to work on or ruin

These are the kind of books that actively hurt the characters and their brand. DC should have taken a page out of Warner Bros book, and never released them in the first place.

Megan Fitzmartin's treatment of Tim Drake is one of those things that she and everyone who let her do this should be kicked out of DC Comics and this needs to be completely ecised from DC Continuity. How? Tim was kidnapped and his life taken over by a Durlan with issues for reasons. Fortunetly, a lot of the characters involved acted out of character, like Stephanie Brown immediately being SO HAPPY TO MEET BERNARD WHO TIM JUST LEFT HER FOR.

Knights of X lasted a mere five issues, with some people trying to claim it was a miniseries all along. Captain Britain is listed as an ongoing (Amazon made a mistake) but few people expect it to go past five.

Its too hard to sort the good from the bad and the cover prices are too high to take the risk of getting a crappy book by mistake.

I mentioned on a RU-vid channel , where some people were celebrating the Tim Drake change , that any solo book would be canceled in 10 issues. I didn’t need to be Nostradamus to forecast that ending.

The fact that the guy he is dating, Was crushing on Tim’s mom long before this nonsense started, And Tim was dating Stephanie and all of a sudden, Started to like this guy, Pretty much killed this book for me before it even got started good!

Tim Drake: Robin being canceled during Pride Month makes this all the more glorious. Batgirls was such a frustrating waste of potential. It felt like cutesy YA fluff and the writers didn't get the most basic concepts of the characters. Even the art devolved into something you'd find in a grade school GN.

The question: Will they learn a lesson? Will they make the connection? I doubt it.

I saw your review of Tim Drake the day I bought it and never read it and never bought another issue. Meanwhile, I somehow missed your review of Batgirls and bought them all, mostly for the covers, but also because I was mildly entertained by Cloonan’s 16 issues of Punisher. I’ve never read an issue because I am years behind on reading anything except the trades I take to work and read on my lunches. So, in another five years or so, I’ll probably sit down and read through the entire run of Batgirls and decide I’m not the target audience and give it to my daughter, but for now, I have some cool variants in a box somewhere, and I’ll have a complete run of something.

I thinked that Robin supposed to be a mini series not a regular monthly series. I'm so happy this garbage was cancelled. Cassandra Cain deserves a solo book in my opinion.

Aside from the abrupt change to a character that I have been reading for 30 years the art was so freaking horrible I couldn't have stuck with the comic even if the story was good.

Coming from someone whose gay, I really hate Tim and Bernard together cause they have like no chemistry or anything interesting going for them yet DC and it's writers keep treating it as if it's the best thing that happened to Tim. He doesn't really need a relationship right now, he needs a new identity; but I swear if they let Meghan choose it I'll scream. She's such a bad writer!! I will never forgive her for how she treated Young Justice. As for Batgirls I can see the vision for it but the writers obviously never read any of their comics and the choice for it to have a childish aesthetic of it through the art and writing really ruined it. It's honestly disapointing since this was the first time in YEARS that Steph and Cass were allowed to star in a comic series.

This is what I would’ve done for Tim Drake. To fix Tim Drake, I would have him make his debut as Earth-One’s fourth Robin (after Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, and Jason Todd) in 1989 (or 22 years before Dawn of DC) at the age of 13. During those years, he would become a founding member of Young Justice in 1998 (or 18 years before Dawn of DC), reveal his identity to the people that he trusts throughout the 90s and 2000s (i.e. Stephanie Brown Spoiler in the 90s in his own series and members of Young Justice in the early 2000s), and gain his own character development. He would graduate high school in the spring of 1999 (or 17 years before Dawn of DC), form the first generation Young Titans (a combination of Young Justice and the Titans) in 2003 (or 14 years before Dawn of DC), graduate college in 2004 (13 years before Dawn of DC), become Red Robin (wearing his original Red Robin Kingdom Come suit) in 2009 (or 10 years before Dawn of DC), reform Young Justice in 2011 (or ten years before Dawn of DC), marry Stephanie Brown (who became Batgirl after Barbara Gordon and Cassandra Cain) in 2016 (or five years before Dawn of DC, referring to Tynion’s Detective Comics run), and continue to be active as a superhero. By Dawn of DC in 2023, Tim Drake would be 35 years old (but physically 22 years old) and be active as a superhero, maintain his relationships with the Bat-Family and Young Justice, have a marital romantic relationship with Stephanie Brown Batgirl (wearing a mixture of her Spoiler and Batgirl suit that is similar to Spider-Gwen), and live the good life. Also, Tim and Stephanie (after years of marriage since 2016, or five years before Dawn of DC) would meet her daughter (who was born in 1999, or 17 years before Dawn of DC) and tell her everything she [the daughter] needs to know about them [Stephanie and Tim and the Bat-Family], including her [Stephanie’s] origin and backstory as a superhero and joining the Bat-Family (if Stephanie chose to do it). This would cause Stephanie to spend time with her daughter from time to time, causing the daughter to take her mother’s mantle as the second Spoiler, and for Stephanie and Tim to try to have kids, who, in the future (the 2030s or 2040s), would make their debut as Cardinal, Gray Ghost, and Redbird in their teens or young adulthood. That is what I think DC should do to Tim Drake.

Considered buying Batgirls, but didn’t care for the art style.

I think I’m picking up 2-3 comics for the month. But I ordered the Man Of Steel 1986 hardcover last night. 😊 I just want something good to read. And I’ve never read that story. I was 8 when it came out and only read marvel.

My proper introduction to comics was IDW Sonic and you know what? I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. It's clearly made by people who generally adore this franchise and they would rather show their passion, not some lazy agenda. I guess I was lucky to find a series that respects my time, not the shit you keep putting yourself through. Lol, huge respect for enduring these shitty comics.

There can be no house cleaning, if any of these people are collecting a check. Don't give them another chance to embarrass the company and devalue the characters. DiDio famously said, during a panel "Who should we be hiring?!" Honestly, I'm not sure, but for the past several years, almost since around 2007 or 8, they've hired the absolute worst writers and editors, imaginable. Just the worst of the worst, and even traded Marvel for some of their failures. It will not improve, I don't think. I like with someone with this activist mindset. Couple that with no real talent, and you have the formula to ruin one of the greatest universes of characters, ever created. If one of these people are drawing a check, DC is doing it wrong. I'd rather see no books, than terrible ones. Back to back issues.

I’ve been reading comics for quite some time and with that comes exploring creative people and interesting characters/stories! I try to be objective and give a book a chance but from time to time you have to evaluate and unfortunately you gotta drop a book or 3! As I’ve complained about in the past the big 2 just don’t care and continue to churn out vapid crap and the lack of direction and lame stories shows up in the sales! ❤️👍Love comics but for last 10/15 years I’ve seen creative spark ⚡️ erode as the prices of books fluctuate from 3.99-9.99+ the damned dull padded watered down stories telling me it’s time to go! I’ve cut back a lot and that’s the best thing a reader can do is cut the crap! It’s on them and I feel free to go through dollar bins or sample books I passed up over the years! Turn off is an understatement. Making Drake straight again would actually be stunning and brave. Stunning because it would be common sense you don't see that these days, brave because it bucks you the conditions of an elevated and protected group of people in a era of "equality".

For those not keeping score, Tim Drake: Robin and Batgirls are the 14th and 15th Ongoing DC comic books that started after Infinite Frontier and have been cancelled. The others include Aquamen, Batman Urban Legends, Deathstroke Inc, Gotham Future State, Green Lantern, I Am Batman, Justice League, Robin, Suicide Squad, Superman Son of Kal-El, The Joker, Titans Academy, and Wonder Girl. Say what you will about Dan Didio, but he would never have allowed to let things get this bad (not including New 52, DC You, and 5G of course)

In the 90s until 2011 was believable (tell if the Tim Drake in the animated version nowadays is doing good or not really, because in the batman animated series he was doing great) that he was the best robin that became Red Robin after Nightwing says that they are equal, but 2020-until now Im not really seeing a strong potential about Tim Drake like the rest of other Robins (Like Dick Grayson, Jason Todd and Damian. Wayne) becoming the most underrated and forgot Robin

Bi Bi Tim Drake Robin, it's been painful to see how this series has trashed the character.

They tried and possibly did ruin the Robin I grew up reading in the 90s. I always thought Tim was great, not physically as gifted as Dick, but just as intelligent if not more.

That artwork has no business being in a super hero comic. The people in charge should know better. They set that artist up to fail. It just does not work for energetic action based story telling. Management job is to fit writers with characters and artist with audience. This is a complete failure in leadership.

There’s not too much I get from DC these days. I got the Batgirls series from the beginning, I’ll wait till I get the last issue and read them. I got the first issue of Tim Drake back in December. Our LCS was closing and I just made a random purchase. I’m also getting Dark Knights of Steel, it will be ending soon!

Rossmo being put on robin is such a stupid move, when you got an artist that stylistic you have to give them something to let them shine, slice of life Tim and Barnard's basic love story won't work with something like that? Acid trip horror? Hyper expressive gag comics? That could get you something interesting (also the colors where boring as fuck, again that art style needs something bold and vivid to actually work) Also the page you showed where Tim says that Damian held a knife to his throat and asked where the real Tim was proves Damian is officially the smartest and most self aware character here, soon enough we are gonna get an arc where characterd begin to break out

Why make Tim Drake bisexual, there is no financial benefit to this, bisexual people probably don’t even want this forced change.

The Art from Tim Drake Robin makes me think of Archie comics if they were done by someone on mellow acid. I haven't read it but it seems the story tone wise from descriptions is more Archie and the gang become superheroes rather than superheroes rather than what superheroes should be like with occasional social scenes hanging out together like Archie and the gang. Am I wrong on that?

The Red Robin comics from 2011 right before the New 52 was what started my spiral into DC comics. It showed how Tim Drake was the most like Batman, how they almost thought exactly the same. Dick was the one who brought hope to people rather than just the fear. Jason was the one who was willing to go to lengths Bruce wasn't. Damian was raised as a killer and Bruce was trying to raise him to be a better man. And Damian did eventually want to be a hero more than he wanted to just be a winner. (Ra's taught him he had to be the best since he was the heir to the Demon and all that and Damian, following in line with that thinking, tried to kill Tim. I'd like to think that eventually, it became less about trying to be the BEST hero and more about just being a hero.) But TIm was always the most like Bruce. Recognizing the faults in Bruce's ways of thinking while also absorbing and building on the merits of it. And he really did grow into role of Red Robin. Wish we could get stories of him growing as a hero rather than just about how homosexual he is now.

I love Batman comics. Those comics are usually the best for DC. I just hope they make less bat titles and give other characters their own books. I personally would love to see a Chip Zdarsky Question book

I feel like the other media plays a role as well in tarnishing the Batfam name. Like Gotham Knights was a mid game at best, the CW show is a train wreck! Batwoman was also just a bad show.
