Why not all the charging stations install payment through credit card or debit card or T&G more convenient rather than following what China payment must be using App really troublesome.

During my stay in USA I don’t even need an app to charge my rental EV. It’s all done a via debit card.

Long ago Queen Elizabeth commanded all charging station must accept bank card in UK. While here😅

Whats worst is some charging provider even requires you to top-up their ewallet for you to transact payment for charging. 😅

I use Setel for filling up gas and can also charge cars. Petronas is everywhere so I never need to choose a different petrol station. For EVs, there's not much chargers around yet, so people can't be as picky for what brand they want, so long as they get the juice. In the future once we have enough chargers, these apps are okay to stay based on users preferences.

Sama juga sama tol. Bayar aje lah guna kad kredit atau debit. Mudah. Apa susah2 mau guna apps. Boreh rah.

This is definitely the way to go. But on another thing, is it imposing a temporary pre-auth charge on your card? I really hate that petrol stations hold upwards of RM200 for a few days before returning it, and it's even worse when using debit cards (it's my own money walaoeh).
