I'm thrilled with the new FM. The old one, it didn't get in the way, I could take off, position the helicopter, engage autohover, shoot some missiles, fly away and land. Now the autohover doesn't work but I can easily hover manually, in the dark, heads-down on the Viviene camera.

Wow that one came quite quickly after the other. Thank you very much for your efforts. Very interesting insights comparing them directly.

Hi, I don't often comment on videos, but I feel like it's time to just let you know I really appreciate your videos. Your approach to helicopter simulation is really similar to my own and since atm I can't do that much of sim flying your videos remind me of how much I miss it. Obviously our hobby is pretty niche, so you will probably never his millions of views, but please remember that you are appreciated by us. I am enjoying every video that you do, and even if we don't get them very often I for one am enjoying literally every minute of what you do. Thank you for your work, looking forward for the next one you do (I would recommend you try HPG 145, it's really interesting and with all AFCS turned off with proper physics settings it is really interesting, I bet you would have fun)

a comparison video to the new xp12 version of the freeware gazelle from JohnBray would be awesome

Thanks for the video. I love Gazelle but it is hard to handle in combat maneuver. Also weapon has been nuff with bugs :(

autoortho and xworld on your new rig should enable you to fly vfr in xplane 12, which would have the advantage of us seeing you actually flying helicopters instead of browsing bing maps ;) the msfs flightmodel really sucks, no joy in watching it. so happy to have you back, love your videos!

I sometimes feel like the whole "Gazelle Controversy" was a tad bit overblown in the forums discussions.. But I am glad they continued working and fixing that fun Helo

Haha, it's quite nice to not having to squint at the fps readouts all the time. 😉

The same thing happened to me on first takeoff with the new mode - you were wrong to blame yourself twice. It's far too oversensitive in roll axis, leading to what you called "lateral oscillations" at 16:15. It's also underpowered with more than 40% fuel and weapons, but it doesn't look like you were carrying weapons. I've set my curves at: Roll axis: Deadzone: 3 Sat Y: 70 Pitch axis: Deadzone 3 Sat Y: 70 Curve: 30

Unfortunately, the new model did not get closer to the real flight of a helicopter. This indicates big problems for the module developer and a lack of full understanding of how a helicopter should fly.

do you have curves set on your pitch/roll axis, joystick extension? Any experience in the Mi-8?

Hi, I don't use curves. In this video I used a MS FFB 2 and it works fine. You just have to be careful with lateral inputs on lift-off. But if You wanna dull down cyclic sensitivity for a small joystick I recommend reducing saturation over using a curve. Control inputs will stay linear that way. Loving the Mi8. Just as the UH1 it's very docile so no need for full sized controls or stick extensions. But if You have 'em great. Cheers

The original Gaz wasn't hard to fly, it was dumb to fly, there was no flight dynamics being modeled :) Hope this update is better, appreciate ya! Also get a VR headset it is worth it.
