In this DCS World tutorial, I cover how to drop GPS-guided bombs in the F/A-18C Hornet in both pre-planned and Target of Opportunity modes. This tutorial will be part of the F-18 combat-ready series which will cover all aspects of how to operate the Hornet effectively.

Hot tip for mission editor F10 map coordinate display under your mouse cursor: LCntl+Y ... This gives you all the coordinate display formats in one handy window. (Would it not be nice to have this while flying in game or as a Combined Arms vehicle, JTAC and eventually as a crewmember on a ship?)

Haha, "JDAM Blues" Yes, technology ultimately killed attractiveness of air combat as very attractive unfortunately.

@@bazej1080 Air combat (i.e. BFM) is not "attractive"... it's much more fun to drop sneaky boom

@@mintsauce82 Well, most RL pilots in interviews agree by far the most fun part of their flying is BFM. They say they absolutely love BFM training even if they know it's very unlikely to see the real close air combat with today's technology.

Thank you but i followed your instructions. All good up to...navigating to target, i have Arm and a/g on, target shows on my HUD and countdown timer, have the correct bombs selected from stores but on the hud, the wpn has and x through it! What am i doing wrong?

Excellent content! A thing I've been wondering about regarding VR: do you have any tips when it comes to using zoom? Do you use zoom at all when working the instruments, for example when using the targeting pod?

Not really, the settings I use in my Vr Settings video mean i dont need to zoom. I just lean forward a little.

Depends on the formation that’s flying. If multiship, no. You stagger left and right. If singleton, go straight down.

When I enter the coords for my JDAM, it's in the "N xxx°xxx'xx" format, not the one in your video,and when I ender them they don't show up on the JDAM display like in yours. Anything I'm doing wrong?

Use the co-ords like I do and you’ll be fine.
