Thank you so much for this and the massage video! I've tried other techniques and I felt like they weren't doing anything. These exercises feel good and are easy to do. I was able to reduce my pain within weeks (and then accidently re-injured it). Definitely recommending this to all of my gamer friends who experience the same pain!
I felt like some of the things I was doing (finger to thumb touching) wasn't doing anything. I really appreciate that in both videos you give a logical explanation for why certain stretching or PT techniques might not be beneficial instead of just "do this cause I'm smarter than those other guys". Great content, your videos have already improved my pain.
It's amazing--after doing just a few minutes of doing these exercises I got a SUBSTANTIAL reduction in pain. Let's hope this keeps up. thank you for putting this video up.
Both the massage and these exercises have been helping me so much more than my physical therapist or other videos on RU-vid. Everyone else telling me to stretch and nothing about massage which I have learned is very important. Thank you so much!
Still feeling a bit of pain sometimes, mostly waking up when the wrist is cold. Quickly get over. Feel safer doing push ups and so though I'm not quite confident with those kind of moves yet. Haven't been doig the exercices described in the video in a while though. They definitely helped, I was feeling much better when donig them
@@malligamalliga5506 Well certainly not in the first place but I do expect to feel good enough at some point to find back the ability for moves and drills such as push-ups. In fact by now I do feel better and barely perceive any pain when doing such. I still am very careful not to overdo it and favor easier moves than regular push-ups too, I don't want to shout victory too early (like, maybe I don't feel the pain anymore but the wrist is still sensible and would get very painful again if I overwork it) Maybe we're simply not supposed to be able to do push-ups anymore without causing surges of pain... But I'm 25 and not ready to give up on wrist mobility yet :D
Your content has helped me so much. I was doing all the wrong things to my poor wrist and thumb trying to help. I appreciate your techniques, they've helped so much!
My doctor diagnosed me with osteoarthritis of the thumb saddle joint. The reason was that I carried my baby too often. He explained to me that nothing could be done about it...it's the age...36. My wife got the same diagnosis. When I was looking for help, I came across your two videos. Now, a few months later, we are carrying our child, who meanwhile has become heavier, without pain! Wow what a help your explanation and exercises were! Thank you very much.
I was also told it is probably osteoarthritis. I am convinced it is this tendinitis and started these exercises today. I wonder how many people are misdiagnosed and suffer needlessly!
I had this injury due to over working at a job alot of repetitive gripping (Chef). The fastest recovery to this injury is not to use you hand AT ALL!!! Not even using cellphone or drivin, etc.. Massage may help but you have to let your hand heal by not using it trust me! I had De Quervain's Tendinosis for 8 months and now the pain is completely gone.
Ive seen 4 doctors 8 times over the last 6 months any you have offered more help information than all the other doctors and specilists. Thank you so much for your work!
Me, too!!! I kept going to physical therapy, only to feel my symptoms flare. I knew they weren’t addressing where I told them I felt might help, and those are the same places the massage video addressed. Now I see they were actually having me do the exercises I should not have been doing!!!😢 The exercises in this video make total sense to me.
Thank u so much for this video. I had been suffering pain on my thumb n wrist for almost half a year. After going thru some other video which really don't help but surprisingly yours seems to be the most helpful n informative way for me to recovered almost 90% of the pain...
I started out the massages about 3 months ago and have really felt the reduction in discomfort, better mobility. I have had to use my thumb spica brace though whenever l work just to support the wrist and thumb. Still, from 7-8/10 pain in March, l am now down to just 2/10. Thank you! I love that you explain the anatomy and physiology first before starting the exercise/massages.
Geez man this has helped immensely. Ive been dealing with this for months. Inflammatory drugs, steroid drugs helped. BUT THIS Massage and excerise video helepd more than anything. Insatnt relief even. Laying off video games. Less texting and these vids should speed up my recovery
This is an excellent gem of a Video, incredibly well done and helpful.I have had immediate pain relief from this eccentric exercise method. You are an amazing therapist.THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!😊 ❤
I’m 71, male, in a wheelchair.I just found this video today. So far, I’ve only tried pinching the spots and resisting pressure on the thumb and trigger fingers you demonstrated. It did loosen my hand and thumb. I’ll try some of the standing exercises tomorrow morning. I’ll probably need surgery at some point, but if I can get enough relief from my hand cramps, that might be all I need for now. I will definitely discuss options with PCP.
🥺🥺 i cant believe how lucky i am that i found your channel 😭 big big big thank you! If only more doctors were like you! Im 29 y o and already started having problems with health) im so happy to find your video
Thank you for your videos on this subject. Your approach seems so logical and sound. I am going to try these now and wear a wrist splint for some of the time. I have this problem from years of knitting (which I have stopped as it makes it much worse). Also, gardening has aggravated it a lot this year-but I don't want to stop that!😁 I am 64 and it is tempting to put these kinds of things down to age, but most physical problems I find improve and can even disappear if I do the right exercises for a while.😊
Thank you! I have been living with this pain for almost a year and thought my arthritis had gone crazy in my lower thumb joint and at my wrist. No relief! And it has become a problem in my other hand. Just now in doing these techniques, and those from the previous video, I am getting relief. This is life changing and maybe now I can stop using Voltaren 2.16% gel on top of the the Celebrex I take for widespread arthritis. Excellent information!
THANK YOU so MUCH for this information, I fractured 2 bones in my wrist and I was focusing on the healing bones and couldn't understand why I was having so much pain in my forearm...Now understanding the tendons/muscles are also part of the recovering it makes perfect sense!!!
I almost want to cry, I’m only halfway through trying the massages and exercises from your last video and this one and the pain is reduced so much. I’ve been dealing with this for several weeks, finally saw a doctor a few days ago and they told me to just rest, ice it, and take pain meds 😭 thank you so much for your informative videos
@@twinklebell210 I actually haven’t been as consistent but the pain started in my left wrist and has mostly gone away besides certain movements causing temporary pain. But my right wrist now has it bad and I need to be more consistent to help manage because it’s my dominant hand. I have trigger finger or something similar in my index and aching in my right wrist when I first wake up. Left is better but not completely healed. Keep going with the variations he mentioned, it helps me at least. I don’t even do the last one with the shoulder thing
Thank you.. I suffer this for a month now, I thought it will heal by itself but no progress. RU-vid suggest your video and after tried this I felt better already. Thank you.
Hello, Thank you, thank you very much, I can't thank you enough. I was doing along with you and the effect was immediate, you was actually pointing to the exact points where I'm having pain. Though my problem started from an accident. I've seen both of the videos, and found really helpful. Thank you for making such a helpful video. Very much appreciate that.
Doc, you have a terrific understanding of all do's and don't De quervain's tenosynovitis. I was depressed about the damage and the length of time for recovery, but these videos (3-massage for De Quervain -see below for link, and this one,) are so informed and I'll hop to the straw/tape presently as well. THANK YOU - best in '21 to all. Stay well!
I had my EPB inflamed and it had a snapping sound with my radius when I extend my thumb. Soon after these exercises, I feel pain-free!! Thank you! You might have saved me one year and give my life back!
Thank you so much Doctor! I really appreciate! I did the wrong things with my thumb pain before! You are expert! I corrected my massages on thumb pain and it is useful! many many thanks...
This is such a great video! I have been suffering with de quervain’s tenosynovitis for a year. I have tried a steroid shot but didn’t help after 2 month. I will start these exercises and massage now. I am so glad I found your channel. 감사합니다!
Thank you, I'm already doing the messages from your other video and is actually working very well, feeling so much better, thank very much 🙏🏻😘, by the way I like your sense of humor when you are doing the videos😆😃👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼!
Thank you so much Love your simple explanations I do alot of massages n keep forgetting to use body weight. So my thumbs are in a bad shape This video will help me to fix it
Actually I started to feel pain before a week and got to know about this disease however I can move my thumb in all direction freely but feels pain and clicking sound sometimes near wrist
I tried these massages and exercises, saw beautiful relief same day. Range of motion and pain better by 50%. I've added bioflex and the two are helping more than any injection. Thank you sir!!
As others commented, this is an excellent video, and the related massage video gave me pain relief after months of suffering (even after the shots). THANK YOU!
Ahhhh your amazing thank you so much. I did this once and can feel the difference already. I wish you so many blessings..this pain had me in tears some days.. THANK YOU ☮️💚
Thank you doctor... Your stretching exercises and the information of massaging the muscles were very useful. I had been suffering the pain for the last 3 months. However after doing these physio.... the pain has lessened. My prayers and blessings 🙏
Thank you so much, you saved my hand, after doing a few of your excercises i could feel that this would work, i had a reduce of pain, so i will continue with these excercises, so thank you very much, Mr Physio.
THAT BRACE IS A LIFE SAVER! So far after two weeks of pain.. I started by massaging the muscles and it helps already. Gonna try the exercises in this video and see how it goes. The brace is amazing!
It helps me a lot! I suffer this kind of pain in my wrist for 3months and now it lessen my pain..I will do it every day so that it will be normalize my wrist mobility. 😊😊
Thank you so much. I'm a web dev who types all day long and was experiencing a lot of pain. Took a while to figure out what's going on, but your stretches and these exercises have helped me a lot. I think if I stick to it I'll be completely pain-free in no time.
Thank you Mr. Physio for the excersises & information. This injury occurred on my right hand/thumb while I was texting on my smartphone about two months ago and I'm still nursing the thumb joint pain & inflammation/irritation. It's become a daily thorn. I wear a thumb splint much as possible. I'm an avid bike rider (60-80miles a week) which certainly has not helped my current De quervain syndrome. Heat then Ice immediately after my rides helps very much. The rubber band excersise really fires @ the root of my pain. Hopefully this will help.....
Hello, I am a drummer and I have had problems with this disease. I will try to do all their exercises because I have tried several things and I have not felt relief or that prevents me from working. thanks for these videos, I will comment if I feel better.
Makes a lot of sense with my knowledge of trigger point release, too! I play violin and have to use every awkward position you highlight: head, shoulder, elbow, forearm and wrist. No wonder I got De Q! Thank you for teaching me how tendons and muscles work together.
Hey! Im a musician too(pianist), may I ask how do you feel after these 4 months? My condition is cronic, but very light and I really want to recover 100%
I was doing the elastic exercise from an other video and my condition was getting worst, I didn't know what to do, but this looks like it will help. Hopeful! Thanks
I dont have any pain.. But no strength to fo resistance excercise.. I felt the third excercise described is extremely useful in my case Kindly give more guidance to strengthen mu left hand thumb
